If you can make upto 1.5Miilion here that means that you are creative enough to earn more in the UK. But you will have to be patient to work your ass up again and dont be suprised that it may not even work. With good planning and the right investment you can double your earning power in Nigeria in 2 to 3 years time. Safe in foreign currency and with time you could go anywhere you want not even the UK

Thanks @Nozino. There are no assurances. Even the Queen can’t guarantee what you want.

Exactly! I understand. I still need the opinion of those already with experience or were in my shoe to help in this decision making. Thanks

Think twice sir. N1,500,000 is the basic salary of a band 6 Nhs staff (nurses, radiographers etc)…

N1.5m per month is good money anywhere whether it’s Uk, US and I think it’s a lot of money in Nigeria and as you said…there is potential for growth.

You know why you want to leave Nigeria so you are the best person to provide answer to your question. If you are coming to the Uk for economic reasons, it might take a while before you stabilise.

What’s your reason for leaving Nigeria?

Nigeria is always my backup plan even when things are not good at the moment.

I will invest in other countries but I can't abandon the gold mine. The wealth Nigeria has is so enormous that it is hard for me to relocate and forget Nigeria.

As a post graduate degree student, you are officially allowed 20 hours a week to work & average of 10pounds per hour gives you 800pounds a month....roughly N600k a month. As said above here, you can earn more if you are on the skills shortage list.

You will be amazed that 800 pounds a month in U.K. gives you as much comfort as N1.5m in Nigeria.

The decision should be based on your future's road map though

how much is rent and feeding 800 pounds is not even enough for monthly living expenses abeg

Dear Great Nairalanders

I am in urgent need of your advice on a decision I am about to make that could shape my life and my young family in about few months from now.

I am currently running successful businesses which give me a steady minimum of N1.5M per month with a potential for expansion. I have been nursing the idea of going to UK on a study Visa by September this year with the hope that I can get a well paying job that could surpass my current earnings here in naijja. I also intend to keep my naija business running but we all know trusting people with kind of investment can be tricky and risky.

What assurance do I have about earning more and having a better life in UK? What happens to my businesses I already built up in Naija? What happens to my properties here in naija?

Your advice will be of great help at this critical decision making moment of my life. Thank you
Hello, I will advise you base on experience, I live in Europe myself, if your motivation of moving abroad is money, I will advise you to stay put in nigeria, 1.5m is alot of money in naija, that should be about 2kpounds, but if your family is your motivation, your children or future ones, I guess it's better you move abroad, at least the basic infrastructure of life will not be their problem, eg, education, health, security etc. Nigeria will surely get better, that's our prayer and nothing like home. Thanks

I don't know if others have noticed what's happening in our darling Nairaland.com these days. I have noticed people now create threads to showoff..........Just watch out, tomorrow you will see another similar topic of a nairalander asking us to help him choose between buying a private jet or a yatch.

It is not necessarily showing off. Don't be bitter.

But my question is how you take they make 1.5m in a month for this Nigeria so
some people make way very much more than that per month working at home. I know of someone making over 5m/ month working at home

MOD will just carry irrelevant topics to the front page, most of this stories are just to bring unnecessary conversations , they are not true, how can someone who says he earns 1.5m monthly still want to go to UK to look for job. Is there any sense in this post.

When I her you people put so much emphasise or priority on uk I always laugh because UK is not build by God, a lot of people put so much effort to build that beautiful country you are gramouring to go, both govt and citizen contributed but in a case like Nigeria every body wants to go to already made country, even when you have a lucrative business here in Nigeria, do you mean when you get to the UK, Money will start to fall from sky like snow abi? Think twice don't do something you will regret. In another note, I am still jobless for now, you can call me and introduce your business to me so that I can manage it for you. My phone number is 08067498414 thank you in advance.

You'll Have To Find Someone Or A Set Of People You Can Entrust That Business To. It Might Be Hard But It's In Your Best Interest. Don't Let That Business Die Or Fall Through. At Least Until You Finish Your Master Programme And Get A WELL Paying Job.

There Is No Assurance Anybody Can Give You. It's A Leap Of Faith.

I Think You Should Go.

If You Can Successfully Grow Such A Business In Nigeria, Your Ingenuity Might Be Rewarded With Greater Opportunities In The UK.

If it's true what you just said, that you make ₦1.5 million a month, then I'd advise you stay in Nigeria and grow your wealth. Many of us over here in USA and UK do not make that much in a month.

Let me give you a realistic answer, the average you'll earn in a month in the UK is £2000, assuming you work 50 hrs weekly. That Is a reality, cos I'm telling you from experience. So use the above analysis to make your decision.

I don't know why people will leave an environment they know very well to move to a place they know nothing about...... It will take you minimum of 5 years in UK to be on profit level, now add that 5 years to your business, you should be on CEO level.... Why moving to a country that is not yours and can never be yours.... 5 years from now you should be talking about sending your kids to UK to get whatever exposure they will need in this world

You can still travel to UK, stay for like 4 weeks , make your research, see things for yourself.... No be person go tell you to run back home and continue with what you are doing.... You want to know the truth? You are doing well.

Exactly

First of all if it's true you have a business that is fetching such amount of money on a weekly basis then relocating to the UK or any other country shouldn't be an option right now, you should be thinking of expanding your business and not traveling outside, if aliko dangote and femi otedola are based in Nigeria then I see no reason you should be thinking of relocating outside when your business is booming and fetching you good money, keep expanding your business and watch yourself become a billionaire in few years, that is if you none yahoo boy ogrin

Please where did you read 1.5m on a weekly basis? Just made me waste time scrolling up again

£4,000 a month; (after taxation ) is the equivalent of £80,000 a year in the Uk, even some white British born CEOS don’t earn that much

I wonder why people just believe that the solution to all thier problems is to move to Canada or the UK. But nobody seems to ask what the will of God is for their lives. Moving abroad may or may not favour you. I would advise you to seek God's face first as you may be moving from the frying pan to fire!
