The old S/crappy system will be collapsing all the time because the Govt is focused on Fuel Subsidy ad Budget padding. Nobody should allow these baboons to manage economy again.
I means tell me one Country the Fs have managed to develop.

Since the beginning of this year I have exhausted over 300 liters of fuel. How can I compete with an Indian or Pakistani developer in the freelance market? Nigeria under this administration is designed to kill dreams and businesses
Get an inverter

The harsh truth is, until the power sector is allowed to operate profitably, it will not make enough money to fix things to a point where we can have power 24/7

It does not matter who is in power or what laws are passed, whether we decentralize the grid, or move power from concurrent list, to the 500 list.....so long as we pay for power below what it costs to produce it, we cannot have 24 hour power.

Which needs to be charged, most of the time, with mains power supply.

You're at fault here. How do you even cope with generator noise? Look around you there, do solar that can power your gadgets. I set up my solar for about 400k it's been two years now I don't use NEPA light at all. I'm on 24/7 on solar. My panels are up on the roof charging my battery always. You can go for cheaper one. So look around you.

Nigeria currently generates MORE electricity than it can DISTRIBUTE due to outdated power grid which is why It exports its surplus electricity to neighboring countries. Talk about a conundrum.

Solar is the present and the future, i recommend you give solar a try if you face power shortage as the sun and solar radiation is ever constant. I have been living offgrid with my small solar setup since 2018 and i remained an ambassador of alternative energy. I sell portable lithium inverter battery suitable for house light, Tv, laptop, phones etc. It is better to start now than latter. Alternative energy is getting cheaper by the day! Government? But electricity has been privatized? Notwithstanding there is no government that has done more for electricity than This Government.

Transmission hasn't been privatised and govt are still part owners in distribution and generation, generation hasn't been this low in over 10 years and power consumption increases every year. So what have they done?

Government has paid trillions in bailout money to the power sector since 2013, keeping it afloat, because the way the pricing is set up, discos and gencos cannot charge at a profit, but at a loss, largely because we Nigerians want cheap power.

Government can help by allowing DISCOS and GENCOS to charge/set prices of power...so that they can make enough of a profit to fix things (and pay government taxes...most of them don't make enough profit to pay state and FG taxes). Nigerians too should, at least some, not all of us, stop bypassing meters, and refusing to pay for the power they use (putting the burden on those of us who do pay)

Also, transmission relies on money it is paid by DISCOS and GENCOS..who aren't earning enough money, because the law setting up privatisiaiton....well, see the paragraph before this.

So why didn't Buhari fix what he inherited, 7 years is more than enough time to solve the problem. He had a solution to increase energy generate to 7000, 11000 and 25000 in 5 years, what happened to that plan.

It is easier to talk about a plan but doing it is difficult.
