Doing and saying what you know to be absolutely false. God isn't this stringent or subversive, what he plainly warned us against is exactly what we are fond of doing, how do we want to rest in peace at the end of life. Idolatry in the form of traditional worship of ancient gods, wether in the East, West, North, South, India, Caribbean, Saudi Arabia or America; is nothing but Idolatry. Any worship to any other aside the creator of heaven and earth and Jesus Christ the Saviour of mankind amounts to Idolatry and idol worship. David, Solomon, Hezekiah, Uzziah all served God as king without bowing down to idol or involving in any idolatrous worship and traditional festivities. How will kings who serve idol and bow down to demons, and deities stand at the end of time before a jealous God, who plainly warned us saying "Thou shalt have none other gods before me"

Everybody really loved this man when he just got coronated but his demand for us to embrace Yoruba tradition is what is dropping his popularity by the day. Our tradition is synonymous with voodoo, and majority of things God dislike and many people are devotedin their respective religions. How can you say we should embrace isese when its what our God dislike most. He only coats it and covers it up with culture, yoruba culturr is strictly Yoruba religion, the more you adopt it,the more you perform idol worship and embrace voodoo and practise it. If we all embrace Yoruba tradition,we are complaining of ritual killings now, maybe human head would be sold on highways in broad daylight. Even evil Pastors and Alfas collect all the ritual formulae from Yoruba Isese

Yoruba to the world... Prosperity to all yorubas worldwide.

Some whitemen religious slaves will come and be talking nonsense because they lack sense... Even Jesus Christ took part in the Jewish cultures and traditions.

So save your useless sermons.
None of those cultural events that Jesus Christ took part in involved the worship of any diety. In fact the Jews a nation were punished severely severally for worshipping other gods until God vex completely and scattered them all over the world as punishment.

It is not the Jewish god. It is the Supreme Being who created the heavens and earth. At a time the Patriarch of the jews a had a pantheon of dietys that they worshipped and the Jewish nation began with a call to Abraham by the Supreme being to seperate himself from them.

What Oni is doing was and is called syncretism and it is an unacceptable trend in Jewish and Christian practice.

You tried to insinuate that Jesus was also an idol worshiper with your statement that he also partook in culture and tradition as a justification for Onis action. No where did Jesus do such..marriages, passover, thanksgiving yes but not worship of any diety.

Oni is free and expected to worship the dieties but let him not fool anyone that it should be a Christian practice. Let him stay fully in the lane of his ancestors.

The Ooni of Ife, H.R.H Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II) took to his official facebook handle with a message on the Yoruba Isese festival of Olókun.

"Today, I honour and pay obeisance to Olokun, the deity of wealth and salt alongside millions of Oduduwa descendants as we celebrate the Olokun festival. We must keep up with the magnificent age-old tradition that our forefathers bequeathed to us, safeguarding the historical, social, spiritual, and predominant modern values of the deity of Olokun. Indeed, she is the embodiment of boundless seasoning, purity, and faithfulness.
_
As embodied knowledge, Olokun is both a historical source of life and a deity associated with wealth, prosperity, and abundance. She is a symbol of infinity and abundance. All the bodies of water agreed to flow to the goodness of the sea, and Olokun personifies their prominence and remains the headship of them all. We must remember that the supreme owner of the universe is God Almighty who created all and we must continue to honour all the works of his hands. Incontrovertibly, that’s our ultimate creed from the source of mankind, Ile-Ife.
_
The Olokun festival commemorates the bond that exists between us and our forefathers. The celebration serves as a reminder of our forefathers' sacrifices, ancient contributions, and realities that we inherited from them. It therefore endears us to share in their vision, immortalize their history, celebrate our ancestors' accomplishments, and record their previous challenges for the generations ahead.
_
As Arole Oduduwa, I use the great fortune of this day to pray for abundance for you in all the essence of life that comes from Olokun. May your silent prayers and sincere aspirations be granted. Happy Olokun festival.

Nigerian with hypocritism.
I can see some christians claiming he shouldn't b participating traditional with Christianity. But this christians folks keep blaming Telu 1 oluwo of Iwo land for taking a bold decision by single handedly turn Iwo empire into Islamic caliphate. The king who forbid idol worshipping in the palace nd destroy all the idol in the palace. But still people badmouth him.

The world knows Africans are gullible and silly, so much so that even if a new religion springs up today, Africa would be the first place to recruit members cos they know you guys hate your roots.

Arabs are using your naivety to develop their lands while you guys follow them blindly and remain poor.
Forget religious values, they welcome you to saudi mainly for economic reasons, if not Arabs no get joy to the point of being cool with outsiders.

A lot on my mind but can't say it all now.

And you don't have to insult me, just think deeply.
That's what we lack as Africans.
First of all: Saudi Arabians dont need your money, their oil money is sufficient for them. If you go to perform hajj or Umrah, they would still give you money(zakat) running to millions at times. I have a relative whonused to go to mecca for Umrah to collect zakat money.
SECONDLY: Saudi arabians dont collect a dime as tax or pilgrimage fee,you only pay for your transport and feeding.
Thirdly: After pilgrimage, they send people back to their countries if they're unwilling to go,meaning that they dont need your patronage, they're blessed.
Fourthly : Your African religion isn't the first religion, its comparatively new too because Adam never worshipped Sango or Ogun,if you say that we should go back to our root, your religion isn't ancient because there are many other religions before Yoruba religion and there are many cultures before yoruba culture. Your ancestors are immigrants from some places too.
Fifthly,: Saudi government are just tolerating your excesses because of Prophet Muhammad's directives. Many Nigerians go there and perpetuate crimes,so they dont gain anything from you
