To be a king isn't an easy job , every citizen thinks it's just enjoyment and power , but it comes with everyday responsibility and duty .

Na amala flour dem giv gods like dis
PAGAN9JA:
The Ooni of Ife, H.R.H Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II) took to his official facebook handle with a message on the Yoruba Isese festival of Olókun.

"Today, I honour and pay obeisance to Olokun, the deity of wealth and salt alongside millions of Oduduwa descendants as we celebrate the Olokun festival. We must keep up with the magnificent age-old tradition that our forefathers bequeathed to us, safeguarding the historical, social, spiritual, and predominant modern values of the deity of Olokun. Indeed, she is the embodiment of boundless seasoning, purity, and faithfulness.
_
As embodied knowledge, Olokun is both a historical source of life and a deity associated with wealth, prosperity, and abundance. She is a symbol of infinity and abundance. All the bodies of water agreed to flow to the goodness of the sea, and Olokun personifies their prominence and remains the headship of them all. We must remember that the supreme owner of the universe is God Almighty who created all and we must continue to honour all the works of his hands. Incontrovertibly, that’s our ultimate creed from the source of mankind, Ile-Ife.
_
The Olokun festival commemorates the bond that exists between us and our forefathers. The celebration serves as a reminder of our forefathers' sacrifices, ancient contributions, and realities that we inherited from them. It therefore endears us to share in their vision, immortalize their history, celebrate our ancestors' accomplishments, and record their previous challenges for the generations ahead.
_
As Arole Oduduwa, I use the great fortune of this day to pray for abundance for you in all the essence of life that comes from Olokun. May your silent prayers and sincere aspirations be granted. Happy Olokun festival.
"

~Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II).

Africans are very funny. We keep preaching about upholding our traditions, yet the so-called custodians of the traditions are living the white man's life. After smearing themselves with these powder or whatever, he will enter his RR (a white man's creation) instead of donkey and go to his AC fitted and well furnished mansion instead of the hut his ancestors were living in, all inspired by the white man.
Next thing they will do is to look for who to sacrifice to appease their epileptic and imbecillic gods.
Uphold our tradition at your own peril. Tradition of rituals, dirt, witchcraft, occultism. What would i gain from upholding tradition in this world and hereafter. Our forefathers were living when there was no enlightenment and did everything their own way which doesnt make it right. Oduduwa's family were custodians of idols and brought most of their idols from mecca and dump them in Ife when the Muslims were chasing idol worshippers away from mecca and those idols are the reason why we have too many voodoo in Yoruba land and reason for ritual killings here and there . you would see everything in ''ODUDUWA'' movie. Oduduwa used a Yoruba voodoo called ''KANAKO'' in form of a chain. KANAKO IS used to shorten distance and some powerful yorubas still use it till date

It is discriminatory for Nairaland to require people to declare Muslim status before commenting on threads to do with Islam whilst allowing insults on Isese
Not just discriminatory but illegal and depending on where you leave you can apply to have Nairaland blocked from that jurisdiction or fined punitively
