Go for pgd then masters, the easiest way.
Though it base on your personal decision.

I'm also an HND holder (Accountancy), after years I've used in the institution, I'm not planning to go and spend another years in University.

I'm confused.
I'm 23years of age, I have HND in statistics (Distinction), done with NYSC program, I want to further my studies but I'm really confused what to do,

1. I don't know whether to opt in for PGD or BSC(Through Direct Entry).

2. I don't know if I should switch course, from statistics to accounting via Direct Entry and I don't know if HND statistics will be accepted into accounting.
Please I seriously need your opinion and advise on it.
Do a direct entry and read accounting, if it is possible.

FuckAllTheMODs:

Bro, can I contact you over this ALT job.

I want to make enquiry on it for one of my female friend.

If you are on Twitter, start from here.
twitter.com/wakawaka_doctor/status/1488766313262686210?t=2vAsyGerwsW3WGVHL0hl4Q&s=19

Let her get TEFL certification if she can.
From the urls listed on that tweet, borderlink replies faster, and are taking for next year academic session.
Just fill the application form on their website, that will contact you for interview in probably a month time.
She should also get her CV polished with a photo on it (canva app can do this easily).
She does not need any teaching experience to get the job.

Goodluck

You said it all
koldej:
It depends on you, let me tell you something some people will ask you why do you need to run a Bsc programme again when you have an HND? they will question your self esteem
I'm also in your shoes.. but this is what I have come to realise so far
1) HND or BSc.. there is no job out there
2) HND or BSc the organization doesn't care, in as much as you know your job
3)YES! HND in statistics qualifies you for direct entry into Accounting
But!
There are some opportunities you will not get if you don't have a degree
There are some chances you will not get to prove yourself if you dont have a degree
There are some interviews you will not get if you don't have a degree

The bottom line is that being successful in your career path is not dependent on whether you have an HND or BSc.

As an HND holder, I will say I've never been out of job since I graduated 2years ago, but the truth is there are better opportunities I have missed out on due to the fact that I don't have a degree, I'm currently trying to run a conversion programme in a course related to my field.

@23 you are still very young, please opt for direct entry if you are from @least a average family who are willing to support you for the next 2-3years again, if not you can try conversion programme, this will give you the opportunity to work and continue schooling at the same time.

But please in whatever decision you take, go and learn IT, I sincerely believe you will do very well in coding or data analysis.

If you don't mind we can be friends

Get Certification while stile working and schooling. Check www.udemy.com

Never go back to full time school for degree you'll regret it.

23 years, you are young. This is the best time to ask your self this question. "What do you want?" . Not what your dad or mum or society want. WHAT DO YOU WANT. What is your purpose. What do you want to (happily) do for the rest of your life. When you sure of that , Dive in with everything you have.learn everything about it,then live your life to the fullest. Their is no need getting all these degrees and certificates u will end up not using. All the best

I hope you make do with my piece of advice.

Go to University. As a DE student, you would start from 300 Level

The dichotomy is still prevalent.

That is the SAD reality. As soon as I finished my OND (Distinction), my HOD beggede me not to return for HND but to go to the University. I wanted to quickly complete my studies so I sought advise from my mentor who I thought would advise me to just go and complete my HND but to my greatest surprised...he said go to the University....that was how I landed in one Federal University.

Today, I'm thankful I heed to their advise. Get your BSc...and progress without barrier.....

Reality of Life, this process will make you better than your HND counterparts and your BSc mates....you will be in the top 1 percent

My dear, go ahead with the DE and get your BSC, no matter the course you are offered. That is the best decision you can ever make. Don't waste your time doing PGD, even Masters because that HND will keep on tagging along and be disqualifying you. I'm talking from the experience of someone close to me who is very brilliant.

Some universities do give masters programs admission to candidates who came out with upper or distinction.

If you have a the resources, go for your BSc. This will increase your options when you start your job search. BSc route is faster to get your MSc too. Also, start working on the side, find a job your HND can take. Combine it with your BSc program if you can.

By the way, if you chose the PGD path, it is shorter but very few employers consider it when employing and that will leave you with your HND always as your entry qualification. Potentially, your remuneration will be lower than a BSc holder you're in the same field.

Can you call me for proper guidance. What I would advise you to do is to take courses in data analysis and other IT related courses. I know people with HND in statistics or mathematics or even college of education graduates who studied mathematics earning as much as N1.5M monthly in tech companies. You are sitting on a gold mine and funny thing you are just 23. You have 7 more years to 30. You can become a developer too. You don't need BSC or Master's. Go for quality trainings and you are good to go

Make money or go for masters abroad lots of schools accept HND. My school present VC got his master's abroad with an HND, is uneducated people who think you can't get master's abroad with HND, BSC is not equal with HND it's rather lesser to HND in science and engineering field. The dull idiots claiming hnd is rubbish are still illiterates. In my first Agro firm then as OND preparing for HND doing 2nd 1year I.T we were training bsc final year students in the farm, we want insult them die, the idiots did not know what day old chicks are, they don't know brooding or brooder pens, they messed things up until the owner of the farm then stopped admitting bsc final year students, as an HND Agriculturist from my experience bsc people are always the dumbest. All they know is theory which is completely useless in real life, I have seen countless BSc graduates who cannot identify Day-old chicks let alone raise day old chicks but an OND holder doing his IT has already raised day old chicks to point of lay, at hnd level his already into animal feed formulation, animal treatment, breeding and cross breeding programmes and all major Agro skills are already what they're used to. You're a fhuckin graduate and served no idiot can tell you that you're not a graduate, get rid of low self esteem, in engineering field bsc people are also widely rejected for HND engineers. So bsc is more useless than HND except for govt jobs where the discrimination exists even though it has been equalized by law and only lazy people seek for such jobs, Just go to school and study something reasonable, thats very important, if someone like Obasanjo is HND holder and he ruled Nigeria or Buhari with no certificate is ruling, then why worry about bsc? Life must always have discriminations and you will encounter them no matter your certificate, economic or social status. Just thank God for good health above all things and make money I'm an HND holder, Proud successful Agriculturist with high charges for my services, served my nation and very proud. You can consult me for livestock farm services!

1. Convert your ND and HND together on WES
2. The total credit unit will equal a university degree requirement
3. Use the WES result to apply for a masters in the US
4. Write and score high on GRE for scholarships

As you said you are confused anyway, with your HND you can go for PGD and proceed with your M.sc, why retrogressing with your HND at hand, then you would have finish you ND and do direct entry then. Masters is masters, and cant stop you from Phd

Please opt for BSc. From experience. I also have HND in Statistics with Distinction and I graduated at the age of 21. No one told me to hustle for my BSc before I realised it.

Like koldej stated, there are so many opportunities that HND won't afford you but BSc would; at least in Nigeria.

You can also spice it up with professional courses.

HND+PGD do not equal to BSc and I am not sure will be equal to a degree.

Look for a job with your HND certificate while you go for a conversion program in one of the universities around.

I don't know your pocket, I will advise you look for admission in Canada or U.K

Pearl, go for BSc. I had HND in 2000 and I am working with my State government. I decided to do PGD and M. Sc for me to progress to level 15. I really suffered before I was able to break that barrier. Yet, I am told I cannot even lecture in the University because of the HND I have( even with the Ph.D. I am currently running). In all, please and please, go for BSc. The shame, the humiliation is too much with HND even with your Distinction.. I wish you all the best!

With your distinction grade, you can secure admission (with full funding) into an MSc or even a PhD program in the USA. Please do not limit your chances because you have an HND.
