Good day house. I opened a cscs account few days ago. I thought someone said i would see details of my dividends payout and outstanding ones on the account.
But it is not so. I only see list of my stocks and a couple of lost stocks. Nothing about dividends.
It's alright though.

The market is unpredictable and could go either up or down. Don't buy stocks right now with loan. Wait till things become clearer. By then the market may be slightly up or down. Even if up the returns may not be up to 17% in the next one year from both dividend and price appreciations.

That's high to invest in stock. It will take you at least 2yrs of dividend to pay off the interest. Unless you are banking on quick capital appreciation, which those stocks can't give you at the moment.

You can take some risks at below 49/50.......if you're a risk taker or if it aligns with your investment obj.
Coys with overseas parent company could sometimes deliver if entry is timed right.
Also, a lot has been discussed here about the brewery sector.....and, NB now has a tradition of paying interim Dividend (after exiting loss). May be worth the risk.
You can monitor the price mvmt to know when to enter too.

17% on the loan + Trading fees and commission. To break even, you should target an annualized return not less than 20%. Can you deal?

Can you service the loan independent of using the proceeds from the shares? This is the very first question to answer before further analysis, but if you are hoping to use the dividends or hope for capital appreciation then there is no need for further analysis. The answer becomes no at this point.

If you want to play it safe (very safe) go with MTN.

1. It has the least number of negative months, about 6 out 28 - since i started following d market.

2. It has been on accumulation mode ever since.

3. It is d list volatile, very steady.

4. In that 28 months, it as had a compounded monthly growth rate of 3%(not d best but acceptable given d low risk)

5. Airtel is pushing up, MTN may be next in line.

Make sure the maximum loan is equivalent to your dividend for 4 years and the dividend yield is over 14%.
