I dont believe this. If you are skilled, and have had past successful transactions, your client can never stop working with you based on your Nationality. He will have to be daft to do that.

you should have remained professional with him. Let me tell you even If you said you are UK he would still look for one reason to dump you in the future. To be safe always remain professional, don't tell them about your family or anything about yourself. Do the work, collect your money and go. Nigeria has a bad reputation and that reputation would not help you in anyway.
