What is the difference between an average Nigerian Politician and lecturer?

Most times they both do not carry out their duties and responsibilities. And they abuse their powers and privileges...

An average Policeman, Kai, Lastma officer is more useful to the society than this 2 set if people..

Generally beware of civil servants sha

let them run for governor then

Oga let them have a pay cut. The cost of governance is one of the many problems we face as a nation. If this is done and all agencies, institutions and government parastatals are duly aggregated with fair sharing there would be no issue.
But they (govt) are saying that they do not have the funds to pay others but same funds are available to bank roll their expensive and extravagant lives.

Who is fooling who here?

It has always been about their pockets. Any other reason they give is a blatant lie. Criminals on both sides (ASUU & FG).

Then our professors deserve 100% increment because they contribute more to the society than the great grandpa

The thing no concern us. Na una go tire. Useless lecturers wey don dey beg for money to chop food. Greed no allow them call off strike.

We Nigerians support our FG on this. NO WORK NO PAY.

Ode. How many senators do we have compared to the number of lecturers? If you want to earn as high as Senators, why not join politics and contest
rickyrex:
same way senators own sef too much, if other agencies and sector begin to demand for unrealistic salary , bonus, and allowances no government staff including lecturers will be at work. We operate a very expensive system of government and pay peanut to the most important sectors

23% increase is nothing. Moreover,as oer earlier agreed it was 100%
Also there is no work no pay when a strike action is involved. This is not a millitary rule...its democracy.FG initially agreed n must keep to agreement.
Wit d currently level of inflation 23% is useless

What have the lecturers and professors in these universities contribute to the society. Teach students well to understand and comprehend - they no do, do research and impact to society- they no do. But rather engaging students in sex and taking money for grades. These are pathetic set of people, do not even want to call them professionals.

Before anyone spew garbage on what I wrote, I was a professor for many years overseas where research and scholarly work are the basis for promotion and salary increase.

Let one of these lectures and professors provide a single thing they have contributed for their many years of work sitting down, selling their own notes, no research, and degrading the noble profession.

Senselessness, no country or organisation will succumb to the 100% demands of institutions at once, it is not done anywhere, they should better agree to documented installments within a certain period of time and move on, students are the most affected in this strike.

I do understand ASUU position but nowhere you get %100 increase. Inflation will wipe out the economy. I believe ASUU can be reasonable and make their demands incremental over 3 years to allow the economy absorb the shocks of excess cash flow without correspondence increase in production cos government giving in to their demand will kill off 9ja economy that is already on life support.
