The Bible tells us to not wear clothes made of both linen and wool. Does he also follow that one? Religions grow, mature and evolve. He wants to drag Christianity along with his personal desires. Christianity no longer supports polygamy in any form. He could have simply said he is starting a new religious organization and these are the tenets of our faith. Why did he not join the religious groups that support polygamy i.e. Islam? There are so many hypocrites who don't want to face their truth. I am married and do not intend to ever have any extra marital because it has never appeal to me for once. However, 1 Tim.3:2 clearly talked about Church leaders to have just a wife. You can marry more if you are not a Leader in the church and ready to be totally and equally responsible to them. Remember, Paul admonished us not to marry if we are given the grace. Let us stop joining the band wagons and study the scriptures ourselves to hold unto valid points. If you think I am wrong, be constructive in your criticism and givenme bible verses to support your stand. |

I know a family that are gideonite. I never knew they practice polygamy cos they are not polygamous family. As a matter of fact, when I think about it, this sect is in my place but small when I was growing up. I don't know if they still exist there. |
