I am an igbo woman, but I keep telling my fellow women even from other tribes that the biggest mistake you can make is treat your house helps bad.

It is dangerous treating them bad and expecting them to take care of your home and children.

My children are all grown, but I still have a fantastic relationship with all the helps that ever lived with me, males and females.
I used to buy my female helps clothes, undies, body sprays and other things that I would get for my own children.and still pay their salaries o.they used to eat the same type of food my children ate, be it cereals, or Normal meals with big pieces of meat o.

I used to feed our gatemen twice a day and made sure all their salaries were paid.
Even if money no dey , we go borrow.
I remember I used to take out time to ask about their families and ask them if they had issues i could help them solve. Even when we go to church or outings, you won't know that the person carrying my baby is a househelp.

How do you treat your househelps badly and leave your pot of food or doors for them?
I know some of them can be evil, but I believe that as a Christian woman, when you treat them well, their negative attitude would be exposed and they will leave on their own.

I tried not to hit my househelps no matter the provocation, because some of them take it personal.
So when it gets to a point where I can't tolerate their stubbornness again inspite of my goodness to them, I prayerfully make them go.
There was a case of an in-law whose househelp kept on feeding her son with #50 naira sugar back then in the early 2000s. When she was caught, she confessed that it was the only thing she could do to mete out her anger at the little 9 months old baby's parents because they used to beat her silly Even for mundane reasons.

I have a lot of stories I know about how househelps Have treated their employers or their children because of their employers wickedness.

As for me, I will advice that if a woman cannot be patient with her househelps or tolerate some of their excesses, send them parking and take care of your children.

As for me,as my premature twins got to 3 years, I sent my househelp parking with a lot of support from me,and since then I no dey do househelp again.
My twins are 14 and can do every house chores including cooking.

Nor be igbo girls when I know. They are like that and very wicked. And also very lazy.

Once you marraid them despite the entitlement mentality they will be Looking for house help. Someone they will maltreat. House they cannot take care of even if they are fulltime housewives. They will still need house help.

So sad

God never allow my children to be a housemaid,even in my death.I have see children going alot in the hands of their boss or madam.The level of our wickedness is too much.

The said father of this innocent kid should be arrested too for willfully bringing an innocent kid into this world to be handed out to be used as a child slave.

I have to agree to this because I’ve read a lot of this type of stories here and all are about Igbo women. We don’t allow them in my family, Uwargida(my family matriarch won’t allow any of us wife them)
