What's the purpose of fasting, first of all?

My view is during the hours of the fast,also abstain from sex as a married person.Once you break the fast,you can have it with your wife or vice versa.

It is appalling how you have twisted his words. He didn't ban anyone from doing anything, He advised against it. You have just taken his words and turned them to suit your narrative. Doesn't a pastor have the right to instruct his congregation especially if it is scriptural? I saw what you did there when you quoted the scripture. You omitted the fasting part. That verse of the Bible advises married people to abstain from sex during prayer and fasting, and when both parties consent to it. Pastor David Ibiyeomie never gave any law or command to them - he advised them to abstain from sex during their fasting season and then come back again just as the scripture said. His advice was to the men to let their wives be this season of the 21 days. I don't know why this person used the word ban, creating negativity and taking things out of proportion. The man of God has taught and instructed based on the scripture. It is their choice to obey. mind you...before you start judging him remember he didn't write the Bible so accusing him of any wrongdoing in the context of what he taught is accusing the author of the Bible of wrongdoing too.

Try and be straightforward about what you report about someone. Stop imposing the wrong ideas hence creating negativity against the person. It won't pay you for long.
