All I see here is the same old populist-socialistic wishful thinking that has landed places like Venezuela in financial disarray. He's basically promising to explode the state's expenditures even as he destroys the most effective means by which the state raises revenues!

I'll give the guy credit for at least having the courage to put forward a concrete manifesto with detailed points that can be criticised, but all I see here is that he couples his evident lack of governmental experience with a non-existent understanding of economics and public finance. It's not enough to cry "youth" and "change" if the end result is to turn Lagos into a dysfunctional basketcase, which is all this political programme could ever hope to achieve.

It all makes me wonder: why did Peter Obi hand-select this guy to be the LP candidate in Lagos, rather than holding a proper primary where rival programs and track-records could be scrutinised, and someone with actual experience and understanding of the real world could have won out? Either Obi has little understanding of economics and finance himself, or (more likely) he didn't have enough respect for voters to consider that they might actually care about such matters, and simply opted for the candidate he felt most personally comfortable with ...
Or maybe because he jumped from PDP as well

I'm starting to wonder if Obi is really who I think he his.

Those who eat the crumbs from the corrupt table like MC Oluomo don't expend this much passion and energy in defending them!

Why do suffering Nigerian citizens choose to side with those making their lives difficult?!!!

This has to be the question of the 21st Century! A wonder that should be studied and researched!

My First 100 Days
As Governor of Lagos

I have a vision for a new Lagos
Here is my action plan for the first 100 Days in office.

1.0
Increase Minimum Wage to N60,000 on Day 1 in Office, the salary of Civil Servants will be increased by 100% to N60,000 monthly. The target is to reach N100,000 as soon as possible. This will cover everybody including street sweepers.

2.0
Moral suasion to persuade the Organised Private Sector to follow Govt's lead by stopping casualisation and also increase their minimum wage to a living wage. Banks, telcos, oil companies, multinationals, large national corporates, etc will be incentivised with PAYE tax credits to stop casualisation and index their minimum wage to their capacity to pay rather than current market wage rates which are suppressed by high unemployment. A first step for a Lagos where every worker has health care, pensions and similar benefits.

3.0
Cancel Alpha Beta's Contract which costs the State N5bn monthly.

4.0
Use the savings from the cancellation of Alpha Beta contract to set up a grand Loan Scheme for Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises. Ensure at least 10,000 beneficiaries in the first 100 Days. We expect the scheme to benefit up to 1m beneficiaries in 4 years.

5.0
Establish a portal for publishing costs of all government projects and compare them to World Bank standards to eliminate waste and corruption.

6.0
Issue a 10-year order for 10,000 vehicles to an auto manufacturer that commits to building an auto assembly in Lagos with a credible plan to achieve 50% value added within 5 years.

7.0
Pull down all toll gates in the Lekki Ajah axis and Ikoyi link bridge.

8.0
Build a monument in memory of our slain sons and daughters at the old Lekki Toll Gate.

9.0
Advertise for the employment of 10,000 teachers with outstanding grades (First Class and Second Upper or Upper Credit) to start a process of repositioning teaching as a middle-class career.

10.0
Execute a Memorandum of Understanding with all Road Transport Unions for the implementation of a rehabilitation and retraining program, and take Agberos off our roads.

11.0
Invite bids for the design and construction of 100 km of rail across Lagos.

12.0
Host an education summit with all stakeholders to get buy-in into GRV's plan for partnerships to upscale public schools to the standards of the best private school.

13.0
Host a health summit with all stakeholders to get buy-in for partnerships to upscale services at Primary Health Centres to best-in-class, laying the foundation for an effective referral system.

14.0
A summit for various artisan associations such as bricklayers, plumbers, mechanics, welders, carpenters, tailors and other technicians with the objective of creating a process for their certification and access to small-scale loans.

15.0
Working with my Party, the Labour Party, appoint first-class caretaker Chairmen for each Local Govt,
each appointee being skilled enough to be a potential Governor.

16.0
Set a date for Local Government elections.

17.0
Issue Guidelines to open up the BRT routes to all investors who meet the minimum standards. Create a program for widespread investment in public transport by all willing Lagosians and investors.

18.0
Issue Guidelines for markets to operate autonomously and appoint their own Iyalojas and Babalojas.

19.0
Release Guidelines for a new waste management system for separating waste to paper, plastic and organic from homes; a first step towards a world class system for turning waste into biogas and fertilizer.

20.0
Emergency rehabilitation of buildings and facilities in 100 primary and secondary schools pending comprehensive reconstruction.

21.0
Enumeration of all apartments that have been vacant for more than 180 days, and commencement of a program to ensure occupancy by 31st Dec. At least 100 such apartments are to be occupied in the first 100 days.

22.0
The commencement of the rehabilitation of 100 inner roads spread across all Local Governments in Lagos.

I am determined to set Lagos on course to become First World in 30 years.
Hold me accountable after the first 100 Days.

It is just too easy to type or write out plans. I have not seen any sincere steps in generating revenue to compensate for the shortfalls he keeps cancelling.

When you shut down toll gate, how do you compensate for the shortfall from this in taking care of the loans as a result of the PPP arrangement?

When you increase salaries of workers, what do you do to compensate for the additional payments the government is making?

We keep getting emotionally affected by those who do not understand what really is the government current financial status and will give out all nice looking plans and when they get there, they disappoint.

APC did the same thing promising very emotional attractive plans but when they got there and realized the plans couldn't work, they started denying many things being said.

This is the usual style from them all. I am not moved by anything written.

In all, I will rather vote Sanwo-Olu than attempt to test run Lagos State with this guy.

If you come after my post, please read every details clearly to understand that I reason objectively and do not support any party whatsoever. Peter Obi was my option for Presidency but I will stick to Sanwo-Olu for Governorship. I don't need any sentiment or hatred in deciding wrongly.

He's inexperienced and not qualified, don't let your emotions and your hatred for Tinubu make you choose a tumultuous disaster.

This guy is still a newbie in politics, when Sanwo-olu was still working under Lagos government, this guy was prolly still in college.

Cancel your tax consultants then where will the money came from to do what you said you will do with the "money saved"?

Have you thought that the legal battle that will arise from terminating tax contracts might actually bankrupt the state? Who now handles taxes? Corrupt civil servants who no one can monitor?

Civil servants can do a far better job if credible ones are appointed no one is really sure of the actual amount apha beta generates for lagos state.

I am only going to pick one of his point that says increase minimum wage, minimum wage increment is usually done by the federal govt and currently, no lagos state staff earns below 70k per month. This guy needs to study nigeria as a whole and then study lagos if not he will just destroy lagos state… i guess thats what you people want but he can never even be governor in the first place… cheers

The boy just "mumuishly" showcased ignorance and highest level of immaturity . He is obviously on a vendetta mission to destroy everything that has been built since1999. He is telling us that he will use Obi's poor template in Anambra State. Don't be surprised to see his Ibo brethren handpicked by his role model (Saint Peter Obi) occupying 95% percent of all his "care-takers" who will remain there through out his tenure.

This is a clarion call to all Lagosians to rescue Lagos from a vengeance seeking bastard. The wise elders say and I quote : the tranquility in a household is temporary pending the time the bastard in it attains maturity. (eoq) The boy publicly demonstrated his pure and undiluted bastardness (if that word exists) on Twitter when he denigrated his father's tribe by tagging it "Afonjaaaaa". He is on a mission to destroy, not to build.

Heed yee the word of the wise.

https://www.nairaland.com/7605529/first-100-days-governor-lagos . Misinformation has done collateral damage to the ignorant masses of Nigeria. Stop promising unrealistic targets in your political opportunism to exploit the gullibility and herd mentality of the majority of the people. N60, 000 monthly minimum wage is impossible in any state in Nigeria and has clearly shown your ignorance of the economics and demographics of the population of Lagos State. Where will you get the money? Oh! I forgot, you are an architect and not an economist. You don't have the facts and figures. Then you lied on over two million children out of school in Lagos State. I have been a national Program Consultant for the UNICEF in Nigeria and one of the well known champions of the advocacy for the education of the millions of underprivileged children ou of school in Nigeria. There are presently over 13 million children out of school in Nigeria and majority of them are in northern Nigeria. There is free education in public schools in Lagos State and the Lagos State government is not responsible for any child out of school in Lagos State. On employment, only lazy touts are jobless in Lagos, because Lagos State government has several skills acquisition and enterpreneurship programmes which are free for all residents of Lagos State. Fear God and be honest. You don't know Lagos more than those who were born and bred in Lagos like me.

Political idiocy is not democracy.

What is so special about 100 days?
That is an unnecessary milestone
If there is one thing that can be practically done in that time it is to commence zero tolerance for hideouts of drug use all over the state andand laboratories in FESTAC and Isolo
