It is time to prioritize the well being of the Yoruba citizens.. and protect the economy of the indigenous Yoruba people. By creating viable environment for the Yoruba man and woman to trade effectively and not allow our markets to be taken over by foreigners who are non indigenous people to the southwest... Across divides Britain, Germany and the United States have programs to protect the economic rights of indigenous peoples.... Southwest States should immediately commence such protectionism in all our markets.

While we thank the SW governments for the DAWN Commission that birthed the Western Security Network aka Amotekun... It is time we take matters of our economic prosperity and development serious by having protectionism for our indigenous Yoruba people who must take possession of over 80% of our markets including shopping malls... This is very important and a standard global economic practice worldwide EU countries have these, South Africa countries have these, UK has these even within the different conglomerates that form the UK.

85% of Yoruba markets must indeed return to the indigenous people of the region. Enough is enough of handouts but time for effective and efficient take over of our economic assets.... Yoruba nation must wake up within the comity of nations in the Nigerian State.

Starting with the King's markets the iyalojas and babalojas need to be up and doing.... Local governments must provide soft loans and credit facilities strictly for indigenous Yoruba people to operate.

Our graduates must be empowered to take over all imports and exports to the southwest region and Nigeria as a whole. We have the ports

All supermarkets MUST have at least 75% indigenous Yoruba people ownership across southwestern States . Same for all registered business enterprises operating within the southwest region

Let them build new markets and give out the shops ONLY to "indigenes" and see if they can flourish like Alaba market, Trade Fair or Computer village.
You think say business na by online noisemaking?

Even if you remove the "foreigners" from the Alaba and Trade Fair and replace them with the "indigenes" the markets will fold up before you know it.

Abuja, Benin, Warri and other cities have markets and businesses dominated by settlers and you don't see the indigenes exhibit this kind of envy and jealousy, but this is common in Lagos.

Lazy asses!

ebufa:

It is not about laziness, its about the desire to ride rough shod over Ndigbo in Lagos..........the reality is that there are many markets in Lagos that are dominated by Yoruba people! Yorubas trade as much as Ndigbo maybe not as well.....but they trade nonetheless!
And the markets no get name? Let them develop the so-called markets to the standard of Idumota, Alaba, Trade Fair etc. instead of eyeing the ones developed by others.
What kind of jealousy is this abeg.

Why should we build new markets because we have non indigenous people trying to monopolize our existing markets? No way! We must restructure our existing markets to empower the indigenous people ... Starting with the Alaba Int'l market and the Trade fair market.

All the unethical trading activities you engage in using your sociocultural organizations which holds meetings every Sunday is no longer unknown to us.

Lazy asses indeed!

Igbos are not even local champions, go to Kiriyanga spare parts market in Nairob, Kenya and see how Igbo traders are hitting it big 😜😜

Nonsense, one or two wal mart sized retailers will render 90% of you bankrupt. If fact, you will be forced to choose between getting a job or returning to wherever you came from.

No one is saying that. But you can no longer prosper using the umuigbo unethical economic practices in the southwest region.... As has been checked in South Africa, Ghana and other societies desirous of indigenous peoples prosperity so shall it be checked in the southwest region

They kill people behind such innovative developments.... In fact they were chased or rather strictly prohibited from spare parts trading in oshogbo because it was discovered that people of southeastern origins connived to murder a booming spare parts importer of oshogbo origin.... This is why the policy must be gazetted officially in our laws.

Since igbos don't appreciate the space, give it to your people. No Yoruba market in southeast, like we have alaba, ladipo filled with Igbo hustlers, selling fake products.

Most yoruba family heads and traditional rulers are selling lands and properties to non-natives. Herdsmen are taking over the forests. Most people couldn’t farm again.
