Any update on our airplane (Caverton). I remember some peoples huge interest here on it early last year. I hope they are not churning out losses oh. I noticed some abracadabra on its share price on Thursday and Friday.

I am not wrong, I think Cutix FYE is July right?

Bro, this stock and other brewers needs to fall below pandemic price before they can rise again based on the kind of results they have been shelling out.

So buying now isn't a good advice. IBrew nerds to fall towards 1.20 to 1.50 range. Others in the same sector needs to revisit the pandemic low based on their results of late. It is unfortunate though, but truth needs to be told.

Unfortunately, that might not happen in the near future. I have been following NB's trading pattern for a while and there is something obviously going on in that company.

What it is, I do not know yet. But I suspect that the company is silently buying back the bonus shares it recently listed from the market and I might be wrong.

I also noticed that nobody is saying anything about the company (no single broker or analyst recommendation), which is a perfect cover to complete any wayo buyback in peace before announcement.

Finally, this company was just in the market a few months ago to sell CPs and yet they declared dividends afterwards. This doesn't add up, as what a company facing working capital shortage would do in the case would be to retain the earnings recorded and explain to shareholders (instead of borrowing), which leaves so much to questions as per what that CP money is to be used for. Could it be that Heineken wants to increase their control, I don't know. Are they thinking of repeating champion breweries, it is possible.

I dived in here when I saw the anomaly in trading pattern (with an unusual daily trade of 28million shares on one occasion for a stock that only does less than a million daily on a normal basis) and I am willing to wait for as long as it takes for them to reveal what is going on. If I turn out to be wrong, I take my loss and move.

THIS IS NOT A BUY RECOMMENDATION AND I COMPLETELY ADVISE THAT NO ONE FOLLOWS MY POST AS THEIR REASON TO BUY NB. DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE AS YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR TRADES.

Caverton AKA Kpakpakpakpa was a monkey. The monkey has been returned to the rightful owners in exchange for their funds and the whiteman has left the village. So until the whiteman returns, those holding it should be patient. grin grin grin grin grin

A very good one from mansard. That is a big statement from them for those of us who doubted their ability to maintain a positive trajectory in improving their dividend payment.

There is a difference buying yuan bonds and then storing Nigerian reserves in yuan bonds(automatically in Renminbi).

But in this case, it is about paying for goods and services in local /regional currencies as against buying dollars to buy the goods.

India and Malaysia are using their currencies to exchange goods and services.

Sri Lanka will be buying oil using their national currency from Russia.

Totalenergies bought 65,000 tons on LNG from UAE using yuan. Never done before.

This isn't about buying Chinese bonds. This is about exchange of goods and services in currency that is not USD.

If you listened to Marco Rubio (US senator) yesterday, you will understand what he is saying about trading outside USD as he complained about Brazil wanting to trade with China in yuan and Brazil real.

And this move is the currency war where surpluses are no longer rolled into US and EU treasuries thereby creating the losses seen in western banks and other non-financial institutions.

The world has seen the retaliation against Russia. And they are learning from it. And this is driving many more countries out when you weaponise a currency that is designated as a means of global exchange.

That was why Marco Rubio said that they can't sanction all countries. So this is basically making sanctions ineffective.

US can only sanction countries and prevent them from using US banks for transactional purposes. However this will create many more countries to trade amongst themselves and avoid dollar by using banks that will not trade in USD.

To make people willingly use dollar will mean to engage all aggrieved parties and listen to their demands. And that means that US has surrendered. Will they go through this route? We wait and see.

Even US allies have seen that their economies are crushed when they stop doing business with sanctioned countries. Look at the oil tanker companies and insurance companies that were made to join the sanctions, they got crushed because other 'ghost' players started lifting oil and eating the shares of the traditional lifting players. If a company doesn't do the business they were designed to do, they crash.

Last month a 645 year old German metal company collapsed. This was a company that saw :
-Ottoman empire
-Portuguese
-Spanish empire
-Dutch empire
-British Empire
-2 world wars and other regional wars
-All calamilites on earth

But collapsed in 2023 as a result of energy crisis, high commodity prices and abiding by German sanctions.

The next phase of the fight will be rich western elites contesting with the policy makers as their businesses get decimated.

Actually the current liberals(Democrats) are socialists mined they don't know how to manage the Economy.
Over the years liberalist movements (Environmental Activists, Anti-capitalism, unions and Labour groups) have slowed the US economy.
The US now relays on manufactured imports from Asia, Oil and Gas from Eastern Europe.

Bring back to the US? At what cost? Cheap labour in EMs made the cost of things very cheap for the West.

Which westerner will be paid a minimum wage in US to make things locally?

When Trump was telling Tim Cook to bring back Apple manufacturing back to the US, I read that Tim Cook showed him a custom screw used in the phone and told Trump that very few US companies can manufacture that screw in the US. And the quantity they make will be few as well. But he said that in China, they can produce millions of these screws as you demand.

Then you talk about the cost of producing the custom screw. It is almost nothing in USD terms. And the EM cheap labour made it possible. Hence selling phones at cheaper cost to westerners.

The EMs have a comparative advantage than the developed markets due to cheap labour and on that basis, manufacturing common things cannot be shipped back to the West.

Well you have a very valid point.

One of the ways the US used to make countries to comply is to change the government. How many governments can they change now.

But i believe the US know what they are doing, they also have their simulations and know when the threshold will be reached and take countermeasures.

But in all this, what is an investor in Nigeria to do?

With Nigeria volume of debt and all, will this favour Nigeria?

That Cost of Labor is usually determine by Unions and activists.

Remember when when Twitter sacked workers, most India workers took over Twitter.

Cost of manufacturing in US should be cheaper, but too much activist are making things difficult.

The widespread use of manual labor in manufacturing is rapidly becoming outdated due to the increasing efficiency of robots. Soon, it is expected that robots will be able to manufacture goods at a lower cost than human factory workers, even workers in Nigeria. grin

Despite this, some individuals fail to recognize that the key to success lies not in cheap labor, but in innovation. For example, the Tesla factory in California is already 75% automated, while Amazon employs over 200,000 robots in its warehouses. Furthermore, agriculture is also becoming increasingly mechanized, with machines taking on more tasks. As a result, labor (blue collar workers) costs are expected to plummet in the near future.

The capabilities of AI are already evident in the development of self-driving vehicles. The competition lies in who can innovate the fastest, rather than who can produce the most consumer goods with cheap labor. Currently, America and the West remain at the forefront of innovation.
