Business is business. You were willing to sell your shares to an American firm but became angry because it's your fellow Nigerian that eventually bought it. Seems you have an issue with him personally.

Otedola would make profit because he would have sold his newly bought shares at the prevailing market rate.

Nigeria stock exchange has a daily cap of %10. No matter how bullish it is, it doesn’t appreciate more than %10 in a day.

Otedola held his shares for only a week. Did you by chance check the % of how Transcorp traded in that short period of time to calculate his profits..

SeunDAssLicker:

You’re naive to think Otedola made any profit. Why would his shares be bought by Tony when there are millions more of ordinary shares..

Secondly, Otedola had to dispose his shares because if he doesn’t, Tony can easily take Firstbank from him with the %25 liquidity he put in Transcorp in one day.

Otedola made the right call by moving on, else he would have lost on two fronts. Firstly he doesn’t have enough shares to unseat Elumelu at transcorp.

Secondly if he decides to make it an open challenge, then he would have lost firstbank since Tony is in the banking business and has unlimited access to loans from Uba to snatch First Bank from Femi.

You are the ignorant one sir. Maybe you should always read the main thread before replying comments. If you go through the statement released by Otedola, you will know he is still pained by the betrayal of Elumelu.

He has no interest in usurping Elemulu at transcorp. It is just about unsettling the market; teaching Elumelu a little bit of lesson by checkmating him.

If the whole scenario is just as you ignorantly painted up there. Why then was Elumulu unsettled? Why did he involved mutual friends to beg Otedola to let go. The move by Otedola was already unsettling the market, Elumelu was boxed, he had no option than to beg !

Exactly what otedola was hoping to achieve. It was more of a 'lesson' than 'business' .

You stabbed yourself the moment you were unable to keep your mouth shut, in business, there's nothing like a brother or family, someone of your calibre should understand this better...

Well it isn't over yet, the best revenge you could get is to also outbid him in any business or shares he tops, not easy tho, alot of consultations, lobbying (most especially, relevant government personnel or agency), bribery (maybe), researchs, calculations, and huge investment will be done, cos you both will be playing powerful business chess ♟️ game, and the smartest wins all here...

Power tussles; Mr Elemelu is already ahead of you by mingling with the President - Select, you can still use the tribal card on him here, just like you know, the northerners will never leave their own person, but don't know if same can be said about the South West... To me, if Ote money knows how to play his game well and neat, I think it's high time to take advantage of ethnic sentiments via T\nubu to overtake the longest record holder of the richest person in Africa.... Dangoπe also used this same opportunity during the regime of B@baginda, Ab@cha, and Buh@ri... Even Ob@sanjo, cos Baba also danced to the tune of the northerners cos they were the decider of his election....

Now that Buh@ri had unknowingly put a slight friction in between the two tribes by trying to outsmart T\nubu in the just concluded elections, Yoruba, it's high time to overtake...

Go Ote$, your greatest challenge is Dangoπe refinery, but you can still win...

Trash cuz you brought up tribal into your comment.Oh Elumelu is ahead of Otedola?did you really know what happened in transcorp deal?NO,cuz if you knew then you will know that Elumelu is a learner….My man you don’t have any advice to give both Otedola and Elumelu and soon they will settle their differences just like Dangote and Otedola made up…..Sir everything is not about tribalism.

Tony owns a bank. Otedola needs banks to buy anything he considers a good investment. So telling Tony his plans is not wrong. Tony is the devil who's greedy to always go faceless and buy whatsoever Otedola is interested in acquiring

This is why people don't tell their plans. A lady wanted to lease a place. She didn't want to say because people steal ideas. Once you start a business, suddenly everyone starts to do same. It's happened to me angry

Exactly what otedola was hoping to achieve.

You’re still believing Elumelu begged him. Begged him, yet bought %25 in Transcorp in one day. Even though Femi only bought a meager %5.

I’m not sure where your emotional ranting is coming from. But that not how stocks work. There are millions more of ordinary shares to be bought in the open market that both parties can mop up, problem is who has more liquidity..?

Definitely not Femi who’s already sold half his position in First bank since he became major shareholder.

Lastly, you cannot disrupt Nigeria stocks because it is capped by the SEC, once you become a major shareholder, you’re bound to disclose your holdings.

Which is what prompted Tony to put a final lid on Transcorp from holding %6 to %31 in one day. Man bought 5X what Femi wanted to “disrupt” Transcorp with according to you.🫢🤦🏾‍♂️

Man still has enough to take Firstbank from Femi if he wants to with N20B only.

Go check how much Heirs Holding is worth and how much liquidity Tony has via UBA. Otedola on the other hand is only a major shareholder in Firstbank, he doesn’t sit on the board of directors yet.

“Years later in 2012 Tony said he wanted to see me so we met in my office where I had previously had a meeting with foreign investors who had not yet departed the premises,” he explained.

“Curious to know, he asked what sort of meeting I had had and I disclosed that I wanted to go into the power business, specifically Ughelli Power Plant. Tony quietly went ahead to bid for Ughelli and he outbid me by offering to buy the plant for $ 300 million.

“And as some would say: the rest is history.”

After he had backstabbed you like 2 times previously, you were not suppose to further trust him for the 3rd time. But I understand, you dey see him as a partner and a friend, he’s own mindset is diff - typical Igbo man character!

For Tony’s mind now, he was able to stole your ideas! For his mind, he’s wise! ... SMH!

Yoruba needs to learn, from the current, from history! There are no 2 ways about it. Igbos have always betrayed Yoruba no be today! Their fore-fathers betrayed Awolowo several times....

Did y’all know that when Awolowo first started free education, the then Igbo leaders mocked him? They mocked the innocent young students of those days! Calling them poor Awo’s kids! Poor education! Etc..

The hatred has always been there! That’s the pure truth! I hope you’ve learned Ote Money! Better days ahead
