I scored 66. I must confess it has been extremely challenging. Looking back, with focus and determination, I moved from less than 10 to where I am today. I still have my sights on 100 and beyond.

I had to cut down drastically on frivolous expenses and requests from people. Extra funds from the cost cutting were channelled to cash generating assets. I have been called unprintable names because of my actions to improve my financial health. Funnily, these same people are celebrating Peter Obi for his simple lifestyle and financial prudence. But when I did the same, they mocked me. If there's one word that sums up my financial journey so far, it is FOCUS.

Stay focused. The financial market is not running away. Remain focused. There will always be seemingly attractive new schemes. But stay focused. Your emotions will run wild. But stay focused. Financial analysts will try to influence you. But stay focused. Friends and family will try to sway you. However, stay focused. The economy will strain you. Comrade, stay focused. Social and traditional media will promote fads and FOMO. Alas, stay focused.

Anyway, what are your reflections?

1. What's your score?
2. How did you achieve it?
3. How are you planning to score 100?
4. If I may, why do you want to be wealthy?

You are right ,
We saw the mismanagement of the current regine and strongly advocated for conversion of Naira to USD when exchange rate was still at sub #400

Now that dollar hovers around #750 and there will be change of govt in no distance time It won't be a bad idea to reconvert some USD and take position in NSE.

I concur, timing seems right , just sent notification for partial redemption of some dollar holdings last week , primarily to conclude a commercial real estate transaction , the rest probably to be used in the nse

I have a customer who is a man of God. I gave him 33% discount because of his calling.

But the man, would still owe expecting me to write off his debts

When I stood my grounds that I wanted my money immediately, he pleaded with me to give him 2 weeks that he would pay up everything because his harvest would take place in 2 weeks time.

Excuse me, what is the relationship between harvest and payment of his debt
I'm not saying you should be foolish, but develop a good discerning spirit and let nothing stop you from doing good my brother, so that you have points of reference ...
When the prophet told king Hezekiah that he should prepare to die, but he turned his face to the wall and cried to God, reminding God of what he did. God had to send back the same prophet and added 15 more yrs to him. In the same vein, when Tabitha died, people reminder Peter of her philanthropies, Peter had to pray her back to life. It not a must that you should give me, but pls give to those around you.

Why should those people add more years on earth instead of going straight to heaven to enjoy?

Reason sir/ma?

In fact, these two should be monitored for pullback Ex-Div and keyed into. Also to be watched during downtime.........in my usual layman's opinion.

Fidelity is the most traded stock on Friday, accumulations has been going on for quite some weeks/mths now.

Contrary opinion is most welcomed.

If I get you right, it's Cross Deals.
We've discussed much about cross dealings here.....
It could be mvmt of stock from one customer's account to another; or from one broking house to another.
The transactions just have to pass thru the NGX Trading Engine for proper documentation and the likes.

As for Morgan, they suppose reward me o. cheesy
but their registration process is too long
I am trying to register but they are telling me to bring NEPA bills and some other documents I can't access rn

This is a good start for a comeback!

1. Out of the 8 stocks, 2 are write offs: Dunlop and Union homes....... they're dead.

2. The remaining 6 are good: FBNH, NB, Betaglass, Dangsugar Cornerstone and Univinsure.

3. You'll need to register with a broker, Morgan Capital Securities Limited, my recommendation.
4. You'll have to fill forms for the Registrars of the ones you have to collect your outstanding Dividends and for future ones.
5. Your new broker will assist you to transfer your stocks to your trading portfolio, whereby you can commence trading, be depositing more money and also consolidating//buying more shares.
6. All the stocks you mentioned are good but I'll advice you dont concentrate on banking alone........you can pick from one or two other sectors as well.
7. If you have time, try and flip back to some pages of this thread to learn more and have basic knowledge...
8. There are books to read, will be good if you can download some and read.
9. Define the type of investor you wish to be..
10. Always ask questions.........you can't just jump into the market to buy, there are times to buy, when the market is in bearish mode, the stock prices used to come down a bit at these periods, those could be good times to pick fundamentally sound stocks.

* This is my newbie's contribution. The Ogas will help you further. smiley

*Modified: Universal Insurance is still active*
can you mention some of those books and what do you mean by "transfer your stocks to your trading portfolio, whereby you can commence trading"

So the 33.33% discount given him to represent one in the Trinity is not enough abi?

I don't know why you guys think you should have everything for free, the entitlement mentality is really appalling and they are never open to accountability.

1. 32
2. I have shares and some pay dividends, plus my assets>liabilities. I have also read some finance books, I think they're up to 10, I also believe my savings rate is up to 10% (will start tracking this). I thought I thought I was reinvesting my dividends till I decided to put all my trades on MS Excel shocked it was bloody cry .
3. I'm not planning to score 100 since I I don't have any plans for Real Estate for now, for 2 reasons
i. I don't have enough funds, and
ii. I think the returns are smaller, than from dividend paying stocks like Zenith, GTCo, UBA etc.).
4. So I can have more options in life, and also to pass it on

I don't just understand this market. I set my buy order at 2.59 just before 9:40am . Only for me to log in about 20 minutes later and saw people offering it @ 2:45. I got a little bit angry. And now, boom! it has climbed to 2.84.
