you should have done some feasibility studies before going into it. Till tomorrow, boutique business is a very lucrative business if you site it in a viable environment. Also your setup matters too.

You’re either having location problem or packaging problem
every business is lucrative but not to everybody.

After setting up the business I needed someone to manage the finance department, I employed this young chap, but at the end of the day had to let him go, he pretty much forged everything from his certificate to CV.

Another one connived with the drivers to siphon fuels.

When they say Nigerian graduates are unemployable, I think they are right because, how do you explain how an engineer who claimed he went to the university CANNOT explain basic terms or a graduate of finance CANNOT under basic concept in their field.

Dear Paulson2020,
Before you go into any business go and learn for atleast 6-12 months, do not make the mistake I made'

And if you intend to start any business in Nigeria, ensure it will not use electricity

Egelife:
As someone who has been in the business for over 6 years, i can categorically tell you that there are some secrets to progress in this business which most agent will never disclose to you. so sorry you got liquidated but check this, there is a betking shop close to your outlet still very active, not just one but many. have you asked how do they do it?

Please before going into any business, even if it will cost you money to do feasibility studies, please pay it. At the end, when the business starts booming, I swear you’ll gain your money back.

I recently started an offline business, there’s this guy in my area , he’s an illiterate but a very grounded entrepreneur . The guy made me realize that there’s different between having money and knowing exactly what to do with it.
Everything I had in mind to do would have collapsed the business. I humbled myself and followed the guy guild lines, at first I hated his style and perspective , baba at the end I succumbed and I regretted not starting the business earlier.

What I’m saying in essence is that you might have the money for the business and not have the business acumen.

Go back to drawing board, I wish you well brotherly.
Hmmm well said. At the end, being educated alone is not enough to successfully run a Business. I have realized that myself too now. I will get rid of these wears and invest in a better business next. Will definitely do the feasibility studies this time. Please, if you don't mind. Can I mail you so you could help me with this business you're talking about? Thanks once again Brother and God bless

Hotel business

At first i chopped money like there was no tommorrow, it a low budget hotel with sales of about 5k per night. Was banking in about 30k per day. It was like blood money for someone who has never made that much money from anything for like the first 6 months.

Mistake 1
About late last year, Nigeria happened and Buhari proved himself to why he was Buhari, inflation and purchasing power, i noticed people who still wanted to bring babes didnt have enough money left like that cos of food inflation etc. Most were now going for short time service which was 1500 naira for an hour. And as a man once you are done with what you want to do, your eye go clear till next time konjiii hooks you and you are back again.

So in essence i was cashing in more 1500 naira bookings instead of the 5,000 naira bookings resulting in less income per night

Mistake 2
When i was making crazy money per day, i too was forming big boy dashing people around money and acting like i had money, what people came to the hotel to do, me too i carried people to other expensive hotels to do.

Also i was repairing almost everything in the hotel customers will spoil, anything be painting the same wall over and over again

Meanwhile price of emulsion went from 4k to 12k minimum, i still would be doing renovations non stop

I even wanted to buy diesel generator at one point in time and give customers AC, Rooms that i know they wont still sleep in for less than 5k a night. Thank God i couldnt afford the diesel generator

Mistake 3- Ramadan period
Chai this period for like 2 months was hard ooo, its like everyone was holy and no one wanted to spoil thier fast, but once Ramadan ended, things went back to normal.

Conclusion
Save your money and put your money where your mouth is.

Now im still back but more clever now, I have stopped pointless renovations. And i have started saving my money,

Even now i have started lying to my staff that there is no money for renovations, lol the same people that remit 30k per day room bookings for me every day haha

Also im trying to do a palmwine lounge thing. I have noticed one thing its when people are drunk or tipsy thats when they start wanting to do the obvious.

Lead city university students too that always came to camp at the hotel and be doing party around the night looool

Any business dependent on electricity in Nigeria will suffer and may likely die, if not supported by alternative power.

Upholstery business.. After I finished school, I knew that university certificate isn't just enough to survive this country, so I approached my friend who's in the business already to teach me how to make chairs, beds, etc..

He agreed. My plan was to ghost NYSC and spend the one year learning at his workshop. After 3 weeks orientation camp, I returned home. As I was getting down from okada like this, na my uncle I see. His tipper truck driver was drunk and left his truck in the middle of a major roundabout. Because I knew how to drive it, he pleaded that I helped him drive to offload the sand in the truck at the destination and bring the truck back home. That was how I spent the whole one year driving. That was 2014. Now I be uber driver.

Early this year, I accompanied my Upholstery friend to Ikoyi to get a contract that requires reading terms and conditions and signing some papers. The job is 1.4m naira. I com dey look myself

taaii !!! Don't say that !

It failed you because you put in money and expected quick returns, you may have also put in money that was not set aside for investment.
I was also naive in the past and made some decisions that made me loose value of my crypto investments, but I have learned a lot and now applying my experience in my decision making, mit is paying off already.

This is the time to make money in crypto with so many projects now all the prices are low. The price will only go up from here.

I can teach you 1 or 2 moves to start making profits on if only you have that spare change you can afford to loose !
