N300 is too much biko. With dangote refinery fully operational, I'm expecting it to be way cheaper than that.

Dangote refinery is not fully operational. It was hurriedly commissioned because of the handing over. According to Dangote, production wouldn't start until July. Only God knows if they will meet the deadline

cheesy

You still don't get it do you?

It is time for BAT to govern. Pardon me for being blunt but speculation about the capabilities of other candidates is nothing but idle nonsense at this point. We have passed that stage.

This is a terrible start and one that was completely avoidable. What exactly has been achieved with that reference to fuel subsidy in his speech?

He did the right thing by announcing it in his inaugural speech. It was anticipated and the price would have still gone up in the coming days even if he didn't. Oil marketers are already aware that there is no provision for subsidy from June.

Great period for black marketers to hammer.

Yeah right! However, even the black marketers have run out of stock. With a litre of fuel sold for 400 but not even available. It's panic buying mode in my town. If nothing drastic changes, tomorrow will be chaotic, especially with the declaration of Tinubu on subsidy removal today.

During fuel importation we were buying fuel at most N170 per liter. Now that fuel is refined here in Nigeria, are you expecting us to pay above N300 per liter for it?

And it has nothing to do with his loans...

You were paying N170 because government was subsidizing the remaining part you were supposed to pay for you. When you hear "subsidy removal", what comes to your mind? With it's removal, government is telling you that they're not going to be paying anything again in that regards on your behalf & that you have to pay whatever the market forces determine. That's why the down trodden, average Nigerian workers etc keep resisting subsidy removal because, to them, that's the surest way they benefit directly from government irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliation. Unfortunately, in real terms, sustaining subsidy is unrealistic & unproductive. Ironically, it favours the rich who manipulate the situation for their selfish gains! So, subsidy removal is the best way to go if Nigeria's economy must have a breather. It won't be easy, at the beginning; but, surely, things will stabilize when market forces naturally take over. Funds hitherto being wasted in such "jamboree" can be redirected to other people oriented programs that can help stimulate radical economic transformation & growth.

dangote refinery isn't gonna make fuel cheap....instead it's gonna increase in price cause it wouldn't be subsidized unlike the products given out by the government

It would be cheaper compare to if it still imported. The cost of importation incured by importers of fuel would not be there.

For instance if fuel without subsidy from USA cost 2 dollars per litre plus shipping, the cost might be 1.7 dollars from Dangote without landing cost from USA. So marketers in turn would be able to lower their price because there would be more competitions now that everyone with money can book and buy directly from Dangote.

If nigerians were paying N170 for a litre because government was subsiding, how much was government subsiding?

How much subsidy has the govt been removing since 2015 that made the price to rise to N170?

How much of that subsidy was removed today?

All the previous subsidy that they have been removing, how well have they been "redirected to other people oriented programs that can help stimulate radical economic transformation & growth"?

How does fuel subsidy "favours the rich" and how do they "manipulate the situation for their selfish gains"?

Who are these rich that subsidy favours? Do you know their names?

If it was old news then what was the point of reiteration? To what end? Agitate the system and spur hoarding and panic buying? undecided

If it was anticipated then why did BAT himself have to accelerate it? What was the goal?

Just admit that the man and his scriptwriters did not think this through at all. It was a major error, full stop. The only thing left to see now is if they can get this problem under control in the next day or two. If not...

It's 220 in Benin but most of the independent marketers have refused to sell there by creating artificial scarcity. The few ones that opened are dispensing at 220. I miss oshiomhole at this point. Only if obaseki can set up a petrol monitoring task force. They need to open those petrol stations by force. Nigerians are normally wicked and greedy by nature, not just our leaders.

Do you pray to God to use your tailor to sew your clothes well?

If you praying that God should use Tinubu "to bring the desired change", you obviously saying that Tinubu doesn't have that ability to bring desired change

If you expecting God to use Tinubu to bring the desired change, what was nigeria experiencing under buhari? Wasn't it the "desired change"?

Guy dangote fuel go reach 500 per litre watch and see. He is not a philanthropist but a businessman out to make profit.

We would start buying fuel at the rate without subsidy from him.

I expect a further rise in fuel price as time goes on hitting the 500 mark before the year end.

All of you that doesn't know that the name NIGERIA was given by an olosho of Lord Lugard after they finished in the other room. But here some of us doesn't know that nobody can solve Nigeria problems except disintegration of this fake country. Nigeria is never a Nation it is combination of plenty nations, created by Britain for Britain's economic benefit and Everlasting stealing of our resources. We are yet to see anything, because a car designed to run can never fly. Finally the constitution as crippled all southerners and it as placed southerners to be slave to northerners that FULANI as destroyed already. If there is no separation nothing can work in this British business empire called Nigeria. THE ONLY THING TINUBU CAN ACHIEVE IS TO ENMASS MORE WEALTH HE CAN NEVER DO GOOD TO THE MASSES
