You don't need to say "lie here and there". It was my experience, respect it. Just like I respect yours.

It is an open fact that in the olden days Yoruba warriors chanted incantations in wars. Not fighting like Romans with swords.

Yourbas didnt have arena like Spartacus where they fight.

Go and watch "the woman king" - they tried to copy that movie and it turned bad.

Viewers will get carried away with the wacky storyline because of the visual effect. It's not a well thought out my movie.

That's my experience. You have yours and I respect it.

As for me, Anikulapo remains far Number 1
With all due respect, your opinion/experience or not, a lie is a lie.
And he gave you facts and truths.
Hence your opinion/experience was a lie.
You should be glad he delivered you from an age-long false opinion.

You should thank him and apologise for misleading the public.
Apologise to professional movie critics.
Apologise to the movie producers and cast.
Apologise to the Yoruba community.
And Apologise to NL.

False opinions is what's destroying this information/social media generation.

Wacky storyline. Nice visual effect.

Yorubas don't fight like Spartacus in war or in a fight challenge, the ending is so predictable and the story line is so tacky - A bad replica of "the woman king" movie.

Femi Adebayo, dressing like a roman king, which I found so alien - should not have acted that part - Chatta or Lalude could have been spot on.

Wars were fought like Romans army with swords. Yorubas used charms to fight in their wars.

All in all, for me:

Story Line - 20%

Visual Effect - 65%

Anikulapo movie still remains distant number 1.
Where did u get your narrative that Yoruba fought war with charms.
U better don't let old Yoruba movies deceive u.

Haba Aboki! I don’t see any Roman connection in the movie. And you need to check history again, Yorubas fought with swords, hoes, farm tools, bows and arrows. And even use shields.
My great grandfather was Jagun Jagun and he uses swords, bows and arrows and charms.

You are very wrong, tho. The ancient Yorubas used to fight wars with charms, bows and arrows, lances, swords, spear and horses. The only things that weren’t used by these ppl were chariots, canons, bombs and dane guns until around the 15th century.
. The use of sword is not alien to Yoruba warfare.
The Romans, Asians and the west are not the only ppl who historically fought with swords.

The battle will just be like a circus show... When they're both tired of chanting incantation everybody go back home 😅😅😅

The Yoruba states and those outside it fought large wars consisting of swords, aches, guns and the likes.

You think 2 thousand soldiers will face each other and be chanting?

What an ignorant person. If you don't know the history of Yoruba, you should just keep quiet.

Who told you Yorubas didn't use weapons? Do you think Oyo empire conquered with charm to rule vast areas? grin
😆..all this history make a particular tribe a laughing stock when they call yorubas cowards because of the only war they fought in there history which they actually lost, because their general ended up running to cote de voir

Read up about the Kiriji war. The excerpt below is from Wikipedia.

As events were unfolding in western Yorubaland, another problem was brewing in the east. Prince Fabunmi, a private militia leader was celebrating with his friends in Erinle shrine, at Okemesi (formerly Imesi-Igbodo).[7] The palm-wine drink meant for the occasion was waylaid by Ajele boys and they came to the shrine with swords and cutlasses; took all the food items and began to caress Prince Fabunmi companion. Prince Fabunmi became enraged; went home and took his sword then proceeded to Ajele compound and killed most members of the household who could not run including the Ajele.[7] The news quickly spread all over the eastern Yoruba land. Many Ibadan officials and relations in most parts of Ekiti and Ijesa countries, were murdered. When the news got to Latosisa, he sent messenger to Oloja-oke of Okemesi, the local king who was also Fabunmi's uncle to kill him. Prince Fabunmi beheaded one of the messengers and sent the head back to Latosisa through the other messenger.

You can’t separate charms and incantations from Yoruba history. It was part of the culture. A man with charm is so much respected .
A culture that has turned most offspring to ritualist. I beg there is dignity in labour. If it's by charm Russian, china, America or even Israel for no stand tall today.
