If he goes back his administration is finished

Reintroducing subsidies will be a dumb and foolish move. The best I think he should do is to find a way of preventing further hike in price for now

This was denied by source closed to Otedola....
They said no premium was paid on it.......and that this was agreed on based on friendship.
Some argued that the amount paid was more than 3.12.......
We actually needed the insider info on the amount paid to Otedola per share....

As for me, I'll be using the daily price movement to guess the price range...... smiley
....and besides, it's just MTO based on the bulk purchases made from Otedola, to fulfill the rule of bulk purchase I guess, so if it's just 4%, then the total to be picked will be paltry 1.6B units.

* Just my opinion based on info supplied by @Customstreet

Why worry over an inevitable? There's minimum wage to resolve, there's sectoral palliative to ponder on, there's government belt tightening to implement, yet they are trying to defend fx rate for a non producing/ exporting country.

It's not like Nigerian gov't fancy it's citizens anyway.

.If they stabilize dollars at I nd E window and make it available for importers btw #800-#850.Remove other landing cost like tax, etc.i don't see crude hitting 100 dollars anytime soon. The price of fuel will not continue to go up....my opinion

Really it went like transcorp hotel.Maybe it is time to speculate on it.
I see transcorp Hotel running down the ladder too because I can't see what took it up to that extent

Wow! Sorry for this.
Please make dem allow the poor man to breath oooo, they should stop suffocating them...... angry

This market can be irrational sometimes......
The continuous free fall is no longer justified by the financials but by some other factors which may be internally related.

ETERNA and Dangsugar commItted same offence but merger news was able to save Dangsugar on time.... smiley

When GT was falling uncontrollably before it eventually started the rally that now took it to 37, it got to a point that it was glaring the dumping had to do more with internal issues.

You're not alone here, just keep the hope alive....
One thing I know is that, it will get to a stage where they'll be tired and will allow the stock to breathe......
Hopefully, TA as pointed out by Agba and Oga BBM will see it stabilize this week and start moving the price up.
Also, the activities there today was somehow a pointer to the falling coming to an end...... hopefully.
You have "spoken" well

Bids still more than offers on top the news .......those guys ehnn.. grin
Maybe they'd expected some dumpings from retailers......so they guided against it......

There's one 100k bid there though, let's see if they intend to cross it to themselves, thus making it seems like dumping.....

Lol Oga mi, sometimes, following those biz owners like Dangote, Bua can have its own advantages too. They have assets to protect.

Alhaji strategized the release of Dangsugar result, he must have envisaged that they'll dump the stock, so he swiftly announced the merger to halt the dumping......
If not for the news, Dangsugar for don reach circa 15/16 by now too. grin

The argument is that : Now that the govt has discovered some of the loopholes thru which previous subsidies were mismanaged, that a control measure can be put in place to block it.

The proposed return is still temporary.....
One of the mistakes made was to remove the subsidy outrightly without carrying out thorough investigation into why it wasn't effective during the last admin.
The decision was too hasty.

Not like anyone is saying it shouldn't be removed but it wasn't well thought out initially.

Even the big boys are not excluded:

The president took major economic decisions without being prepared for the outcome, the major problem is the dollar supply, these policies were taken with the hope that FDI will increase somehow but the government took that decision so fast, Dangote refinery isn’t ready yet, your refineries ain’t working. So were is the dollars going to come from, the Naira has been floated. With the recently released CBN financials, you can see that the foreign reserve has depleted not to mention using it to secure loan.

The situation is terrible and would have been approached with preparedness. Re-introducing subsidy we mean mounting debt as well. Unfortunately even the expected cabinet members doesn’t inspire much confidence. We need to shore up our production on all fronts and a paradigm shift from the old ways of doing things.. I don’t envy the president at this time.
