Please can someone help with clarity on attaching e bank statement and scanned hardcopy bank statement to an application. Which one is most preferred, and acceptable by IRCC?

ebank/mbs is more preferred as it is easier for Ircc to verify than hard copies that can be easily faked or arranged

You can use lemonade to convert from your naira to Canadian bank account. Other option is look for someone who has dollar and want naira. But you have to be careful with this option so you don’t get scammed or you are transferred bad money. Better you deal with someone you know when arrive in Canada or use first option

Hello house, thanks for all the wonderful contributions you have been making.

Please I have this question,

What is the possibility of starting education in Canada with an admission already gotten while in Nigeria?

Like, I got an admission while in Nigeria but now traveled to Canada with visiting visa which has been converted to work visa.

Can I now use this admission which I got while I was still in Nigeria to school in Canada?

Thanks in anticipation for the replies.

If you are sure that you have a valid work permit, I think there is a new public policy that allows holder's of valid work permits that are already in Canada to go to school without applying for study permit. But you must continue to maintain the validity of your work permit without getting out of status while schooling. Just check with IRCC....I am sure of that new policy.

It seem new portal is faster than old portal (GCKEY). Most people that used the new IRCC portal for application since August 3rd has gotten response. Please if you submitted your application around 3rd August and you used old portal and you have gotten response from IRCC., Please signify 🙏

Good evening nairalanders. Please I need your advice and options here.

I'm looking for DLI schools in Canada for my wife. She studied Guidance and counseling undergraduate level with 2.2.

I have been looking for alternative programes for her in Post Graduate Diploma programes because of the 2.2 barrier. I have been unable to see anyone for her.

Kindly assist me with alternative programes in PGD in Canadian schools. Please.

She can check out Post Graduate Certificate Programs in Canadian colleges in the program's below as they are kinda related to her degree:

Autism and behavioral science

Addictions and Mental Health

Community and Social Service Management

Public relations

Community and Health Services Navigation

She can pursue postgraduate studies in the programs mentioned above with a Bachelor's degree in Guidance and Counseling.

While her academic background may not be directly related to some of these programs, many colleges consider applicants from diverse educational backgrounds. However, she may need to demonstrate her interest and readiness for the chosen field in your application.

Here's how her Bachelor's degree aligns with the above programs:

1. Autism and Behavioral Science: Her background in Guidance and Counseling can be relevant here, especially if she has worked with students or individuals with special needs. She should highlight her experience working with diverse populations and your interest in understanding behavioral aspects.

2. Addictions and Mental Health: Her degree in Guidance and Counseling can be an asset, as it likely involved coursework related to mental health and counseling techniques. Her understanding of counseling principles can be beneficial in this field.

3. Community and Social Service Management: While not directly related, her degree could demonstrate her commitment to helping others and her understanding of community dynamics. She should highlight her counseling skills and any volunteer or work experience in community settings.

4. Public Relations: This field focuses on communication, and her background in Guidance and Counseling could translate into strong interpersonal and communication skills. Highlight any instances where she has interacted with diverse groups or provided guidance.

5. Community and Health Services Navigation: Her background in Guidance and Counseling could be valuable for navigating and advocating for individuals in need of health and community services. Her acadrmic experience in counseling can help her understand the needs of various individuals.

In her application via a COVER LETTER FOR ADMISSION, she should emphasize on her transferable skills, her motivation for entering these fields, and any relevant experiences she has, even if they weren't directly part of her Bachelor's degree program. Admissions committees in colleges often value diverse perspectives and backgrounds, so showcasing her unique skills and passions can make her application stand out.

She can also consider Post Graduate Certificate in EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

There is a strong connection between Guidance and Counseling and Early Childhood Education, making your wife's transition between these fields quite feasible. Here's how the two fields are connected:

1. Child Development: Both fields require a deep understanding of child development. Guidance and Counseling encompasses understanding various stages of human development, and this knowledge can be directly applied to Early Childhood Education when working with young children.

2. Social and Emotional Well-being: Guidance and Counseling focuses on promoting social and emotional well-being, which is also crucial in Early Childhood Education. Supporting children's emotional growth and helping them develop positive social skills are vital aspects of both fields.

3. Communication Skills: Effective communication is central to both Guidance and Counseling and Early Childhood Education. Counselors need excellent communication skills to engage with individuals, while educators in early childhood settings need to communicate effectively with young children, parents, and colleagues.

4. Behavior Management: Both fields involve managing behavior in different contexts. In Guidance and Counseling, behavior management strategies are used to support individuals in overcoming challenges. In Early Childhood Education, educators use similar strategies to create a positive and structured learning environment.

5. Empathy and Active Listening: These skills are fundamental in Guidance and Counseling and are equally important when working with young children. Understanding their feelings and thoughts through active listening and showing empathy helps build trust and rapport.

6. Individualized Support: Guidance and Counseling often involves providing individualized support to help individuals achieve their potential. Similarly, in Early Childhood Education, educators tailor their approaches to meet the individual needs of each child.

7. Conflict Resolution: Conflict resolution skills are essential in both fields. Counselors help individuals resolve conflicts and develop effective communication skills, while Early Childhood Educators guide children in resolving conflicts and building positive relationships.

8. Creating a Supportive Environment: Both fields emphasize creating environments that promote well-being. Guidance and Counseling aims to create supportive spaces for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings, while Early Childhood Educators create safe and nurturing learning environments for young children.

Your wife's background in Guidance and Counseling provides her with a strong foundation of skills that are directly applicable to working with young children in Early Childhood Education settings. Her understanding of human development, interpersonal skills, and empathy will serve her well in helping young children learn, grow, and thrive. She can use her counseling skills to create a positive impact on the emotional and social development of children in the early years.

I am a First Class Graduate Nursing student and want to apply for a n MSC in Canada through scholarships, but I'm a bit confused.

Do I need to get an admission first, pay my fees, before looking for a scholarship?

Or I can get a scholarship before applying for the program?

I ask because if I have to get admission and pay the school fees, does it mean the scholarship will reimburse me the scholarship value?

Also, can anyone be kind 3nough to recommend an affordable University for an MSC in nursing

At the point of entry they ask simple questions like
1. What you came to do in canada.
2. What school you will be attending.
3. The course you will be studying.
4. Whether you have made payment for your fees.
5. LOI, LOA and who is your sponsor.
