Will you still make the 6k if you don't go to work? That is where the problem lies.

180k per month, 2,160, 000 per year.

A good woman can work with this and together you can build a life depending on what she brings to the table, unfortunately good women are rare in that city.

What is most common are gold diggers who place an over rated price to their honey pot because it’s Abuja, expecting to stumble on one Senator, political or rich kid whom they can suck dry. Op this second set of women will come into your life and leave, making you wish you had a job that pays you even 3k daily.

Well it's okay. N6000 X 30days = N180,000.00

There is nothing wrong with starting with that.
Do you work 30 days in a month?

you lack the right connection for contracts and knowledge sharing. Surround yourself with sensible people! Apart from nairaland , I
n real life..I snub alot..only my circles of friends matters to me. In my street, I only know the occupants of the adjacent building to my duplex since he is a senior doctor. I don't know my neighbors and I don't care to know, they always party all night, I avoid lousy people, I snub them alot!
Connections and contracts are good… but not everyone can do contracts cos some require you to sink in your funds 1st before you get paid.. no go use ur capital for contract ooh.
You’re more likely to make money faster and easier if you sell or provide services to the general populace than govt. Govt spending to gdp ratio is less than 1 to 10 ie 10 out 100 Naira spent in Naija only comes from the govt

1.when u mis-manage things you put ur life in danger no matter how much u get..
2. Spending 15k for a plate of soup instead of 5k is greedyness and lack of calculation..
3. I know a woman who finish her shop over food and clothes but today go and see her fellow business women and see the length they have gone..
4. I believe in making more money no matter how much i get or make.
5.marriage is not by force'' i don't know whether u read my ftc?
6.your friend was never ready from the beginning' how can u talk about marriage when you don't have a meaningful income.
7.what i believe about marriage is' no matter how much u are making' a man need to save atleast 1 to 5m before bringing a woman home regardless of ur monthly income but everybody don't think same and everybody has different experience with different struggling background' so what if the person is trying to save this money and didn't meetup'' he need to start from somewhere.

So in your mind now, marriage is a poverty alleviation program for ladies right? If they both contribute their earnings they can make a reasonable living and of course they will not be stagnant.

Is it that you don't know the answer or you just want to keep us busy?

Average of 6K daily means roughly 150-180K monthly. Most people earning much less marry comfortably.

Are you marrying a high-maintenance wife?
Or do you intend to have a high society wedding?

Agree with most of the things you said…but marriage throws mud and big stones at you even when you’re prepared. Eg if his wife gives birth via CS…. N180k go be down payment for surgery … if that child needs extra care or medication to bring him/her to stability , you go beg taya ..

Please date AT or BELOW your level. Do not go after any woman who you cannot sustain with your salary. It's better to marry from your village or someone slightly less educated, than to get someone that you cannot satisfy. Never look at a woman's salary and think you can pair hers with yours. It's going to lead to trouble. Be wise.

If you havent wholly supported someone month by month basis, then you should not use ‘comfortably’.. I know what it takes to support my frugal parents in the village.

That is why i said if i were him i would use another 1 to 3yrs to save cash.. Because a man need the least two to three income before talking about marriage... We know all those things but life is not easy for everybody...

There are numerous satellite towns around Abuja of whixh Suleja is one of them. There are more people staying in nassarawa working in Abuja than in Suleja. Karu, Nyanya, Maraba, Masaka, Jikwoyi are all Nassarawa and all combined are far bigger than Suleja
Suleja is not a satellite town. It is a city in Niger state.
Any place you mention that's outside Abuja metropolis is not satellite town.
A satellite town is a small town WITHIN a larger town or let's say municipal. Abuja is a municipal that's why we have AMAC.
Kubwa is a satellite town, bwari or kuje etc.

I've seen how much you earn but at the end of the day, your cash flow is what's the most important. As well as your savings and investments.

How much do you have saved up? Do you have an emergency fund that can carry you for up to 3 months peradventure you loose your job?

What's your source of income? A business? Is it insured?

These little things are the things that really matter.

The economy is not smiling and rasing kids have become a challenge

Gone are the days when you could pay 25k for higher education.

Ordinary long note is 600.

I think you can get married after all a marriage is a partnership between two adults who have decided to do life together. Just make sure you marry someone who can support you. As you collect her support, don't forget to support her as well in her own duties. Make her life easier as well so resentment will not build in your home.

I wish you the best and I hope you get to marry someone who will love and cherish you.

180k monthly is a good cash to start family'' but nigeria economy is not stable and the most important part is' this woman you are about settle down with does she has the understanding' patience and also know the importance of marriage..
If i were u and maybe if you are under 30' i would have use another 1 to 3years to save some money so that you can use the cash to setup another business and add that one to ur present salary' by so doing you will have confident in ur dealing...
Another important factor is ur location e.g house rent and other basic things you buy everyday for survival' do you think your income will withstand such plus another person... For now you are single and you have the chance to create more opportunities for urself...
Marriage is a life time journey so you need to be good in your calculations...
If people who drive taxi and keke can settle down'' you can also will.. Life no too hard when there is understanding..
So the ones he will save during the waiting period will not finish abi😂😂. Dey play. Once he is married the money will just start to multiply😂😂😂

Bro, no be lie with your last paragraph.
One girl in Nigeria tried to bait me with how much she love me. After series of disagreements, it dawned on me she was Racing against time cos she is about to clock her mid-thirties and already desperate!

It's hard to find a woman who will just love you like that..cos it all boils down to her ego, knowing she's a woman with pussy power(for men) who could easily be at their beckon.

Why you run? Wetin de do you sef? Go and marry joor. grin

Bros, the responsibilities will always be there as long as you are an adult male in the family. I am not saying you should avoid them.

Point I am making is that you need to marry and live within your means, and that your income puts you in good standing to contemplate marriage.

Besides, nowadays, most wives work or do stuff that also add income to the family.

I will advise same to a brother or friend.

Hello Nairalanders,

l want to settle down latest next year, l live in Abuja, and the business l do is giving me a minimum of 6k daily.

Though on a good day l can make more than that, my major concern is that l feel it is too little considering the present inflation rate.

Please what is your advice, should l go ahead, or wait and expand my income, l dont want to marry as a man and start suffering abeg.

My advice to you is that you go ahead and settle down with a lady that has a work so that she can be supportive. The earlier you start a family the better. You can expand your income as you progress in life.

Some of you people just unnecessarily pressure yourselves. People earning less than 100k a month marry and have good home, don't let social media deceive into thinking those who are getting married have or earn millions
Abuja is different ooo my guy
I stayed in abuja and I know more. If I don't earn million. I can't marry here ooo, unless they transfer me to state.

That person u are quoting is still young. We were all once like that. By the time he starts approaching 40 yrs seeing his mates doing school runs & the money is still not forth coming, he will even settle with 30k salary. What people should be asking is if the 6k is consistent, once the consistency is there, anyone can get married with a 6k daily income.

Too arrogant to be a man but you don't have the budget to back it up. If he earns N180k to take care of himself, wife and kid…. then his ego and sufferhead will kill him.
He needs to make 2x or 3x more to have a stay-at-home wife. We need to be honest with Naija men…most of them cant afford to have a stay-at-home wife with 180k salary . OP is one of them.
The greatest injustice Naija struggling and working class men have done to themselves… is not learning some survival skills like cooking and cleaning. If you have any cooking skills, woman will not hold hostage during fights.

Being a man is being in charge of your finances… you cant have it both ways
