When there is pull back, some people will not jump in. But later they will come asking if, for instance, Dangote sugar is a good buy at 100 naira. How do you begin to answer that kind question?

Our ogas have told us say na cruise till next year. I believe so 💯

I predicted the trend for the market this year as far back as June. History repeating itself

To me, it was a smart move by the parent company. The depressed exchange rate has made many businesses denominated in naira very cheap. Many people don't understand the full impact that the exchange rate and subsequent crazy inflation have had on the naira. It's like buying a business for one-third its original price. A good deal for the buyer, and a bad deal for the seller who gets a bunch of naira bills that are now worth far less. LOL.

Thought of that. How companies tend to be underpriced in real terms on the NGX due to naira devaluation.

Also thinking further - If a business needs to inject cash to take up new opportunities. With the way shares are currently undervalued it suggests current shareholders will not be able to bring the funds to take up such opportunities. And raising money afresh will be a huge dilution to current shareholders. But if the opportunity is strong majority shareholders with deep pockets can always fund it.

Yes, the fear... If you have noticed, the guy comes here many times a day to champion Dangsugar with phrases like "follow the money" and so on grin. Why do you think he is doing that? Fear! It is his way of battling fear. cheesy

I have also learned that to benefit from a stock, you need to put in good money. I used to diversify a lot, investing 1 million naira here and 2 million naira there. But now, I prefer to put the bulk of my money in one place after doing serious analysis and praying. embarassed

I copy the method from Agba years ago and I grew my capital faster through that strategy. with this method plenty patience needed, it could take u time to enter a stock when you will be seeing pple celebrated their capital appreciation/dividend before you without nothing in your portfolio than the cash waiting...

i can say 1st time my current portfolio comprise of 3 stock... could have thinking of sacking my employer grin if i had put all in Dangote sugar with currentprice and future price to come but decided to spread it on 3 stock but non is less than 100% at d moment. though DS is more than half share of my portfolio with my conviction about the stock.

pple may say DS cp is luck cheesy may be sha but i have once valued this stock several time in the past with N70 FV, how will it get there was what i don't know. but the issues was N70 wasn't consistent another year valuation will show less than N40 and so on but i never doubt it undervalued stock below N20 it stay for longer time.

The strength of this Sugar and Salt though...... smiley
After initial Pullback.......
SUGAR now @70......
Salt @62.......as at now........

OANDO:
- Opened on full bid @6.70......
- Profit taking took it to around 6.30 or thereabout.....
- Back on full bid @6.70 again....

* The perceived barrier now is the circa 7/7.10 region........
Caught between the exit price and court judgement : which is still undecided (some are of the opinion that the judgement will be cancelled; to some, the judgement will stand)......
It's well, we are watching.....

** If OANDO should scale thru this court hurdles, na to dey pursue am oo.........but if otherwise....

Many banks over the last ten years have grown faster in book value per share than share price. And players in the market seem locked to prior low market prices and ignoring the increased earning capacity of the banks that currently exist. A N50 valuation for Access/UBA is not an overstatement if the economy becomes more buoyant. However Banks can also lose money and get their shareholder funds seriously eroded. And that fear seem to be more in the market at the moment.

Good morning house.

Please I need your advice . I bought some Transcoorp shares some years ago, when the company wasn't doing so well. I sold half, made a lose.
Please I intend to sell some more atleast to recover my lose, is it advisable or I should still hold
.
.secondly, I opened account with Morgan Capital I never open my portfolio for over 2 years now. I can't remember my password. I sent them a mail but no response. Please how can I go about it

Thank you All

Where were you since all these days that it was trading at below 5.50?

No comment on OANDO for now, except the daily updates.....
Case is in Court and we don't know what the outcome will be yet.

If it favours, OANDO dey go up be that oooo, it will turn to another Sugar possibly.........but if delisting stands, then the buyout price is N7.07.

* If to say you'd picked btw 5/5.50, then you have nothing to fear, either way it's win-win, but as it is now......lip sealed first lipsrsealed

If Tinubu wins at the tribunal tomorrow, what should we expect? Another upward trend or indifference?

What if the tribunal shock everyone with a rerun?

I think the slowing of momentum in today's market has something to do with the uncertainty of tomorrow.. This is the more reason why electoral dispute should be concluded before swearing in. But in Nigeria, things are done upside down.

LOL. To get to 8 million naira per month, it is very achievable if there is a good plan and a fair amount of luck. 8 million naira per month is 96 million naira per year. The dude claimed that a 25-year bond is giving him that 96 million naira per annum, assuming a 14% yield. This means that he has a principal of 685 million naira.

From 2020 to the present, 2023, a very astute investor would have multiplied his money by 14 times just by following tips from the top-rated gurus on this forum. Let's assume that he has been investing for years prior to 2020 and had built up about 50 million naira.

In 2020, OGG, CP, and many others pointed out UCAP, which was trading below 3 naira. If he had invested his entire 50 million naira in UCAP, he would have multiplied his money by 4. I know this because my UCAP is almost 5 times what I invested. This would have brought his total to 200 million naira. There is enough liquidity in the market, so there would be no problem with this.

Early this year, CP, PA Emma, and many others pointed out the immense potential of Dangsugar when it was trading at 17 naira. After doing his due diligence, he would have invested his 200 million naira in Dangsugar, which is now 4 times its value. His money should now be 200 million naira x 4 = 800 million naira. If we take into account the fact that he may have entered the market a little late, 685 million naira is still a feasible amount.

You may argue that this is a very remote case, but he could be the one in a million who did just that. LOL

PZ Cussons Nigeria yesterday disclosed its parent company intends to buyout minority or retail investors at ₦21 a share. After that, the company will be delisted from the @ngxgrp Depending on what price an investor got in, that's either going to be a loss or a massive gain.

who in his or her right mind will sell his PZ cusson shares 21pence? That's an insultive offer ? (Of course i am not naive about life and other factors. disclaimer: i am a biased holder of PZ ), I hope the board or Court doesn't acede to this silly request, but it's Nigeria anyways. Nice calculation!
I put those lines in bold because they summarize why there is much more to 25years of building wealth than being lucky to enter NGX in 2020. We might as well assume that he started with 5k in 1998, and got things right to build it to 50M in 2020. Many minds will lose the motivation to invest in this market when the current euphoria is gone. That man's response has a lot of wisdom in it. He has defined his own wealth (not to be compared with anyone's (not even Dangote). If the current events on NGX is a true representation of how the capital market works even just 50% of the time, all the businessmen/women in Computer village, Alaba and the rest would have closed their shops decades ago to be following NSEMPA thread day and night.
25 years has seen the Dotcom bubble in Western markets, the 2008 recession, COVID19 pandemic, the many bonus shares of FBNH and its rise and fall through N33 and N4, the IPO's of defunct companies, the delisting of companies perceived to have potentials, the greater than 10X devaluation of the Naira, the hike in fuel price from N40 to N600, and many other economic stories. We cannot discount all the decisions that an investor made during each of these events, the choice to keep servicing a loan just because money needs to be keyed into generational low opportunities, predicting when cash is king or when to sow, calculating when to invest for dividends or capital growth, the choice of alternative investment decisions such as real estate, money market, forex etc, the choice of being greedy when others are careful or vice-versa, and many more.
Compared to all I have listed, a 2020-born investment portfolio is a virgin. I know of many people who saw the upward movement of stock prices in NYSE during the later days of COVID19 coupled with the certainty of perpetual Naira devaluation and sold/liquidated their Naira- denominated property and investments to become "traders". Many are still bagholders till date. We see new monikers asking everyday how to transfer their "abandoned" holdings to new stockbrokers houses or how to open accounts. A question to ask is why did some of these investors run away from the market after the 2008 recession, only to come back when the ovation is loud (another wrong move anyway)?

NB: This is not intended to attack the calculation nor to question the post - I respect both. If I come back in 14 years time (my own 25 years of investing) to share how successful I have been through Grace, hardwork, smart work, tenacity and all, and someone does a quick arithmetic of how I could have put 200k in FO to cash out 2M, put that in MMM to cash out 8M, put that in FBNH to cash out 20M, and so on, I might run to oga Mankindman for lecture on how to deactivate my account.... just kidding.

No matter how lucky you are or how massive your returns are, 700 milla no be beans! And that's in whatever currency you want to convert it to lol! Even if the person enjoyed 20X returns, that's still a lot of their money they had to invest! That man tried, it's not easy to stick to the plan through good and bad times.
