crownprince2017: You should have started in 2019. You don't need to start with the N2 million with you. You could have started with 100k, and then continue to hustle with what you have left, but you will need to add funds to your investment capital. I might be wrong, but I guess you are now considering investing in the stock market because of the current bull market. Since you hope to be in the market for 20 years, start with 500k or N1 million but don't use the total fund with you ie N12 million until you have mastered the game There is no point getting across to anyone personally, the information shared here is enough. Be careful, the street is not smiling. This is Nairaland, you will be surprised at the number of private messages you will get from random people on how to turn your N12 million to N100 million in 12 months. 19 Likes 1 Share |

Mpeace:Surprised you easily fall for this cheap propaganda from NNPCL. No be today dem dey say opposite of what they do nah. ENI already signed agreement with OANDO on this deal. * How is it possible for NNPC not to be aware or involved in this process from the onset? * While signing the agreement, is it possible for a representative of NNPC and relevant govt body not to be present? ** Pengassan was reported to be aggrieved because they were not carried along......If the deal wasn't done yet, why will Pengassan be threatening strike? * As for Ministerial approval, how are we sure the relevant minister wasn't aware and gave his consent? And how will the approval be difficult if the President wades into the matter? ** Please note that I'm just looking at the obvious here and not supporting or opposing OANDO. In fact, even if I wasn't interested in OANDO before, I'll buy tashere units today with amount I can afford to lose based on this. https://www.eni.com/en-IT/media/press-release/2023/09/eni-signs-agreement-sell-naoc.html https://newtelegraphng.com/pengassan-threatens-shutdown-over-sale-of-naoc-eni-nigeria/ 4 Likes |

crownprince2017:* While looking for information, it's obvious you never look for information on this thread! Because if you did, you won't ask those questions, especially with the time you said you stumbled on this thread, 2019/2020. Most of my ogas and those of us you mentioned have been very active on this thread till date, dishing out various vital info. For instance, in 2020 when ZENITH went as low as 10.70 due to COVID-19 issue, Oga RabbiDoracle and my other ogas were here telling us how investing in ZENITH, GT and quite a lot of other stocks were very cheap and would be very rewarding. Today, the rest is history. As for sending PM, I usually reply most PMs......but I reduced it to monikers I'm familiar with on this thread because if I replied, they won't get back again or will get back with something completely different, which I may then ignore or reply as the case may be. I've said it before here. If you're following this thread, read past pages and ask questions, you may not need any personal tutelage again, especially since you're in that line already. 8 Likes |

@Crownprince2017. yMcy56: TLDR: It takes and will take years of reasonable fine tuning. Btw, keep doing whatever you are doing to have raised such funds. If you don't like it you may scale down to ensure you don't turn off the faucet completely. Split funds to Money market funds : Equity (Depends on your reasonable risk assessment). Definitely have skin in the game with amount if you lose overnight, you aren't losing sleep over it. Read through Treasury bill thread , Mutual funds thread. They are like subsection of NSEMPA that will help you see a better picture of what the big guys that have a pulse on/in the market are thinking. Bon Chance!!! I. adding a bit of bouillon to the stew cooked by EEwumi and Mcy. Bro or sis nothing beat scavenging this thread. If you can't start from page 1 then pick 2020 as your starting point because your money depends on it, it helps you sieve through the evaluating your risk appetite as a Value investor. start small ( figured EEWumi touched on that). II. WHile you are seeking opportunities to get in the stock market, to avoid FOMO (Fear of missing out) Treasury Bills and Mutual funds threads is/are your friend. (Bro/SIS Go through those threads. will suggest 2012-2017 timeline for Treasury bills is prime time Explain like i am 5years old on treasury bills III. The yield (MMF) is not much to write home about, but at all at all na nothing, you can choose Money market Mutual funds as your high yield savings account pending time you are interested to go balls deep whenever the market gives such opportunity. IV. little suggestions on stocks to keep eyes on viz: Follow the top 2-3 companies in the following sectors at all times as a long term investor: Food (Agriculture, consumer good ), Manufacturing (construction ,real estate), Energy ( oil/gas exploration, electricity), Please this are pointers for education purpose to run your numbers and study their annual reports, this by no means is exhaustive. 1.Food: BUA FOODS, DANGOTE Sugar/FOODS (currently in euphoric mode.), 1b Agro-allied: Flour Mills , OKOMU OIL 1c Consumer Goods: PZ (with delisting on horizon, may be listed or not so no point mentioning it) 2. Cement Manufacturing : Dangote, BUA, WAPCO 3. Construction: Jberger. 4.Real estate: UPDC vs UPDC REITS (Personal Preference is UPDC . not a recommendation) , Abbey buldings ( this is akin to penny stock. value in this company is gradually coming to light. It's a Mortgage financing play. This is solely on the team to deliver or this will just be story of potential ). 5. ENERGY (Oil & Gas): SEPLAT, TOTAL, CONOIL (prefer due to its exposure to Telcommunication sector as a major shareholder in Globacom) 5b Energy (Power Generation) : Transcorp and GEREGU. 6.Financial institution: Access, GT, Zenith (registrar is useless when it comes to documentation, maybe that changes in the near term), UCAP, Sterling is an honorable mention 7. Telcommunication: MTNN 9 Likes 2 Shares |

crownprince2017: If you've been on this thread for that long, you have seen opportunities pass you bye. I'd say with such funds you boast of, you could walk into your bank and suggest to buy a FG bond and use the proceeds to play the stock market. Perhaps, you get more time to learn before your first tranche comes in. My 1 cent low risk assest 4 Likes |

Will the market react to the Tribunal Victory of PBAT or the victory is already priced into stock prices. ? Think more like the victory is already priced in and the gradual journey up will continue. How will the touted upcoming investments lining up from India affect the market. ? I think it will support the economy and the gradual recovery of the Stock market. I see Naira bonds going down gradually in the coming months in yields as the government borrow less especially at unsustainable high interest rates. A dilemma between allocating funds to lock-in high bond income levels right now and the opportunity cost of missing on the gradual rise of the stock market

They also had 52 Billion in cash at the end of 2022. |
