I think if no skills then one must have the money. It is either have the skills or have the money to take you there. Not by asking or assuming other person take the financial responsibility to help you to travel.

Maybe your friend is discouraging you because you are indirectly asking for his financial help.

You'll face depression for several years unless you were brought in by a close family member that's a citizen with good jobs and established.
