Oops.

I learnt the drivers have developed a way of riding offline to at least by-cott the huge percentage.
A whole 35% is huge.

In essence.

The expect you to spend 45% on fuel, and pocket 20% as profit. lipsrsealed
you'll get banned eventually...

I hope you were not one of those who voted along tribal lines during last election. If you were, it has favoured you and your family already

But if you voted with your conscience, them let's keep doing so and insisting on electoral reforms. That is the only way to get Nigeria working for the masses

Ibos that voted for Obingo didn't vote on tribal line?
Dey fool yourself. You go tire!

There is no profit in that business. I did it for 2years (2020 & 2021) in Lagos. Everything goes back into fuel, vehicle servicing, commission, penalties, etc...
I gave this analysis repeatedly on this platform, but ignorant bandwagoners who have never driven for one day will come and be rehashing fictitious cliches of how people made millions from the work.
Ehailing just gives you a false psychological feeling that you're not idle, but in reality, you're worse than idle.
twas even good then... Baba if u try uber now with dis fuel price u go wan mad oh... You'll make 20k as d op said, you'll buy fuel of 10k when going home and pay 4k or 5k as commission..... Where is the gain?

Customers (riders) nyafu nyafu for road, Na so so pick up alert I dey receive, surge choke! I was enjoying my new job until I decided to close for the day and go home and rest after spending some hours driving.

Mhenn... I got the biggest shock of my life! I made 22k within couple of hours...

Excited? Please don't be excited, it was a bad shock!

UBER took 35% of the total money I made and the rest of the money went to fuel (Bought fuel for N617 per litre). I got home on empty tank.

My profit was.... guess?

Five Hundred and Fifty Naira only (N550) cry

UBER drivers, please share your experience.
Please bring the car, make I dey pay you 25k weekly. The car won't be on the road more than 30 hours per week.

This means the business is no more lucrative. You are yet to factor in maintenance allowance for the car. What about feeding too or do you drive with an empty stomach?
look drivers till earn from it big.

I only detected OP is just a failed Uber driver in the past. Trying to discourage inspiring drivers.

Look, I have done that business before. And it was lucrative

The only thing you need is just a good functional car, that’s all.

Uber drivers save 10-25k savings everyday(Minus fuel and feeding money, ie after feeding and buying fuel).

So don’t mind that failed driver. Only the wise and the favored make it from Uber business.

Op, thank God those useless Vio on Abuja street no disturb you in that one day, Uber and bolt are very useless. They just sit there wait for you to work, take half of your earned, Tinubu take the rest through fuel use it to bribe the judges, leave you with nothing.

Funny enough, this is where FG could help people. How about if the Ministry of Technology commissioned some tech guys to develop a Nigerian version of Uber that is owned by the government for which drivers pay 5%. The technology is already available. This is how the FG could help Nigerian youth. Besides it helps keep the money in country. Why would Uber take 35%of our local money for what?
The government would also buy Amazon Web Servers right?

Or you think it's just the app?.

Have you ever wondered why the network downtime on these apps is usually less than 1%?

And the app is almost 100% online?

I wonder why it so bad as he narrated.
I use uber often here in the west and the drivers are happy with the job.

I don't believe what he said.

Only happy because they want you give them tip. I lie to my passengers all the time. I told one that I'm a student in medical school.lol. I just tell them what they want to hear for tips. Sometimes I just want to dry around and make small cash. That is when one rider will now want to be telling me all his life stories. Abeg abeg. Just enter make I drop you where you dey go and pay my money.

Some drivers are nice though. One gave me a very huge tip!

One thing I've come to know about Nigerians is they will always discourage people from joining their line of business or tell you how difficult it to make a living from what they are doing.

Even the ones abroad will always discourage other Nigerians from traveling abroad angry

You didn't state your car type. Besides don't misinform people. Uber takes 25% off every trip. If you see ride hailing as a business you'll make money.

Nigerians don't like to hear the truth.

You are actually on negative because you have not factored in maintenance that will come up

You will need to be carrying out maintenance ffrequently like
1. Changing engine oil more frequently
2. Buying new tyre frequently.
3. Replacing brakes more frequently
4. Replacing shock absorbers more frequently.
etc

I agree with you. Uber charges 22%, Bolt charges 25% and I diver charges 9.99%. I don't know where he got his 35% that has never ever existed. Now I really don't understand why he lied about this.

Is that not profitable? Let assume it 10k, multiple that by 5 that's 50k a week and 200k a month.

13k is not so good for the driver's effort, for you to make 56k in day, you have to drive round the clock. 6am to 11pm. There must be surge of 1.5 upward, and it must be on weekends cos the road is free no traffic. And mind you 56k is not what drivers makes every single day. It is way far below. They only make that kind of money on peak days only.
