Thank you so much

giselle237:

The school results is not for them to be assessing your grades but for them to know you are actually in school.
Letters alone can not substantiate this part.
You don’t have to add all the results but it would help to show you are CURRENTLY in school and progressing.
1. Add pictures of you in school, locate where the statues showing your school name is located and take pictures infront of them.
2. Add pictures of you with colleagues and classmates that are taken in school. Not only from this year but when you started
3. Are you a member of any leadership or student boards? Add those letters.
4. Have you been paying any levies or fees that has your name addressed to the school. For every different year. It doesn’t matter if it is 500 naira, add it as it is a tie to the school.
5. Matriculation pictures? Add them
6. Write a cover letter and one of your bullet points should be how you have progressed academically this far and it would be stupid of you to throw away say 3 or 4 years of study to come and live illegally in the UK.

If you have enough of the above then you can skip very few of your report sheets with bad grades. Pls also try to do better academically because I can see it is stressing you for others to see such results. This shows insight and possibilities of you to improve. Goodluck

Hello everyone,

For a visit visa, is saving on apps like piggyvest or optimus acceptable for POF? or is it better for the money to be transferred to a regular bank account and an explanation proffered for the lump sum in the cover letter?

Your responses will be highly appreciated.

Hi, marriage certificate, Husband's passport data page and mine as well, my BRP card, police clearance certificate for my husband, his TB, our WhatsApp chats downloaded from WhatsApp itself, screenshot of our video call history because our relationship was long distance, my work contract with my Trust, lots of pictures from our wedding and personals, my UK bank statement even though maintenance was ticked on my COS. I think that's all 😊

Has anyone had any experience with applying to bring an adopted child into the UK as a dependent on a health care visa?

A family friend recently got a job offer in the UK and has been issued a certificate of sponsorship.

This family friend has been married for about 15 years (and no children) so they opted for adoption and they recently got a final court order for the adopted child.

Please note: They've been going through the process, waiting list and checks for the past two years (the process long!)

1. Does anyone have experience of this?
2. What documents do we need to submit to the UK high commission? I already advised that their adoption court judgement will be useful in place of the child birth certificate.

Anyone please, do kindly advise. Thanks.

It's called Police Clearance Certificate

Go to possap.gov.ng, you need to register. It costs 30k, which you'll pay on the portal. You'll most likely get your certificate the same day you do biometrics.

Also, officers you'll meet there may ask you to pay something ooo

Here again, please. What happens if I get to TLS later than my scheduled appointment. Say 11am instead of 10am. Has this happened to anyone before?

Thanks so much for the info. But I'm in the UK at present, so how do I go about it especially the biometric?
Moreso, is it possible to get the certificate within 3 days of registering?

Do you advise one to do it online himself or go through an officer? I am asking because I know how the officers in passport office delay people who do the registration online themselves..You know this is Lagos and people can be wicked and selfish.

I think everything was explained in the link.

The guide helped me too.

I paid online, the actual 30k. But capturing officer(a woman) was hesitant to capture me. She said I'll need to pay. She actually delayed me (around 10 minutes) because I said I called their official customer care. Others there were giving her 3k, 5k, actually, they'll expect you to give them a price first.

Inshort, she didn't collect anything from me. And I got my certificate around 5/6pm same day.

You can ask questions here.
https://www.nairaland.com/7215673/updates-new-nigeria-police-clearance/4

However, the little I read there, it's even easier to those who are abroad because everything would be done remotely, including your Biometrics Capture

Hello everyone,

I’m about to apply for a standard UK visitor visa for my wife. We plan on traveling together over the holidays, but my wife was refused a visa when we applied earlier this year. I already had a 2 year visa which was granted in 2022 by the time we applied for her visa.

She was refused because the clearance officer felt her monthly income (N450,000) was too little to pay for the expected cost of the trip (N800,000) even though she had about 12k USD in her personal dom accounts. This was also even though we had put that I (as her husband) would sponsor the entirety of her trip and I had enough income (N1.5M per month) and savings (25k USD) to cover the costs.

Can any visa gurus advise on the best way going forward to avoid another refusal. Please note we later applied for a France Schengen visa a few weeks after her refusal and were granted the visa so it’s quite confusing why the UK denied her.

Thanks a lot!
