It's simple. If she doesn't want to switch off her phone for reasons best known to her then she can leave the class like she wanted to do but the lecturer kept stopping her for his own ego.

Then he becomes violent towards her for OWN PHONE? Yet, people are here supporting the barbarian because you all are damaged as fcuuuk in that country.

He has no right what so ever to hit a grown a*"ss adult for not switching off his or her phone. You people supporting this are so uncivilised and shouldn't be using the phone the Whyte man gave you and should go back to living in caves and trees!

This GenZ generation should start teaching this old phools that assaulting grown men and women over the flimsiest reasons will not be tolerated in thier generation.

The lecture hall doesn't look familiar. Kids these days are very bold. In the early 2000s, she go just manager for 2 extra years. Times have changed.

Nigeria is an abnormal society. Read comments of m.ad people like the man above justifying his action. There are other ways of disciplining the girl, but the useless man as usual wanted to prove he is older than the girl. It is the right of the girl to defend herself from him. What about sending her out of the class. And if she doesnt walk out, he walks out and then take the right action. But he chose to force his will by laying his hands on the girl. And mum.u above just like the man are supporting the act. This is why they go to jail abroad. See eh...Nigeria is an abnormal society. This is why I dont regard anyone above 60. They are useless. Why? Na dem spoil Naija. Na dem holy pass...na dem sabi all...na dem want respect pass....but with the present state of Nigeria and with all the goodies available to them before and after independence. .look at where Nigeria is. Yet, they are still demanding respect. That generation is so manipulative. They use everything tovforce their will on people. If their useless words doesnt make sense, the next is to abuse the person by laying their hands on the victim. They dont mind using religious books to brain wash people. This generation ma.d oooò grin The portion they know in the Bible is honor your parents so your days may be long..if you quote parents, respect and love your children...they go go wild ni. Very selfish generation. They destroyed Nigeria. I pray the parents of the girl are well doing so they can treat the mess up of that useless ma d man. Just imagine...becos he thinks he is the alpha and omega in the class...he does not recognise the girl as an adult. Simple...use your authority and send her out of the class. Period. I know many lecturers who stepped aside until the kids walked out. Na the kids begged later because they kept sending the kids out of the class. Simple as ABC. That is the authority this man has. And it ends there. If the kid is useless and does not want to learn, it is automatic F. Period. But laying hands on the girl (an adult), this man needs to go to jail. But it is Naija na where abnormal people like those who have made comments above live. grin Werey plenty in naija grin

You are an example of lack of home training. The lecturer should beg her? If she was in the USA and a lecturer ask everyone to switch off her phone will she argue? They will deport her. Is this how you will train your children? To be rude and disrespectful? I weep for you and your seeds.

reading most of the initial comments is very appalling. First, the 'she' is a he. Secondly, I am an adult, why do you want me to switch off my phone in the university? Three, why are you assaulting me because I didn't not switch off the phone I bought with my money. Fourthly, he could just have sent the erring student out of the class. There is no difference between that lecturer and a thug. If he does that in a developed world, he will be jailed.

has it gotten this bad? What is the difference between that lecturer that slaps you to switch off your phone and the armed robber that slaps you to collect your phone? Do you know what is called self respect? The lecturer is several years older than this guy and he has to resort to fighting the young chap?

I quoted you because you are supporting what is wrong. People like you are the problem of Nigeria by supporting evil.

That means you support extra judicial killings by security personnel in Nigeria.

I detest lecturers maltreating or beating students as he doesn't have the right to lay his dirty fingers on her.

In case you don't know it, that lecturer will lose his job and he would be prosecuted fo assault.

Exactly. Your lecturer might take it to the extreme, and that wont happen abroad, but at least she did not touch anyone. Laying hands on an adult is a NO. See...those old ma.d people dont want to accept 18 years as adults. And the problem is the economy. I pray the economy gets better so that parents that lay hands on 18 years old kids can "collect". The kids will definitely move out of the house, and thats the end of the parent- child relationship. But since the economy is bad, kids have no choice but to endure.

And those m.ad men, the same way they bully their wives. Nigerian old people are so manipulative. They spank kids to force them do their will...when they see the kids have grown pass beating...they start reporting them to everyone....if that doesnt work...they use bible...i swear ...the same way they manipulate women. They call pastors to use bible make women stay in abusive marriages. But i pray the economy improves. Dem go soon dey collect. That kind of lecturer go collect dirty slap and on top, still go to jail.

I am not sure you have left the shores of Nigeria or understand the reason why they deport people. This comment of yours shows that you are very uninformed and deficient intellectually.

Deportation is usually become you have overstayed your visa or you committed a crime.

Long ago, people were more disciplined. There was a time when you dare not report at home that your teacher beat you.

But today, you have parents coming to school to beat teachers up. And people like you would look away. Many of today's kids are so mannerless that I fear for the future.

Nigeria isn't a developed world, no matter where you are , you conform to the rules of that area or location, if you were told at your work place to switch off your phone , would you refuse?

Same phone you bought with your money doesn't give you the right to do as you please in certain environments. Because you want to visit a friend in the barracks and you are told not to use your phone after the person receiving you is on his way , would you say because you are an adult you won't obey?

The situation the student found him or herself in is just for a brief period of less than 2hours and she still has the option of putting it in silent mode or airplane mode or better still put it back on immediately she goes back to her seat.

Obedience isn't hard

It’s easy to talk like this and portion insults left and right ignoring the negative part of sparing the rod,the current genz especially in the western world is a catastrophe already happening not even waiting to happen again, every week school shooting because a princess feels his emotion is more important than the society,no values anywhere, any small thing , mental breakdown..if not for the strong economy the the people from the 60s laid foundation for,how many teachers do you think would remain there with uncultured kids…

You talk about manipulation, she’s sure her emotions or need for passtime adventure trumps the need to study of the other 100 students

So, an adult who is in the higher institution is who you want to spank. Ok ooo. Oga...kuku tell the senate to approve spanking in the universities na. grin

It is only in the US they usually shoot...and not because of bad home training, but because of the law there. All over Europe..nothing like shooting..even in Canada...yet they have outlawed corporal punishment. Do you hear of shootings in the UK? US only needs to remove guns from the hands of the citizens and it ends. But politicians who are benefitting finacially from it are blocking it. Period.

So, lets compare the kids that are trained in Africa with your approach and compare them with those abroad. Who is better? Your yahoo yahoo kids? Dey play!

Did i read that you said people in 60s laid good foundation for us? Lol. Oh yes...they do...and it is why you are suffering in naija. Lol. Na waooo!

Your opinion here is so flawed! I guess you didn't consider the other students in the class. If the girl refuse to walk out the lecture walks out right and if the girl show up in the next lecture again and he ask her to leave she refuses and he walks out again right? Denying other students lecture time?

When you meet a brat treat her as such. What's so difficult in switching of your phone in a lecture hall? Am sure you know he didn't just single her out and ask her to switch of her phone. The phone must have interrupted his class. If you want to be treated as an adult behave like one.

Dont worry...the jail is awaiting you. Just travel abroad and act this way....then, narrate the trash here again. They will treat your f.uck up appropriately. I assure you.

If she doesn't leave, so you can't take her details, continue the lecture, and take action after class with the authority? Oga, you are speaking in tongues. Please, go lay hands on kids abroad.
