What then seems to be the issue

Genuine question

They played a stupid game and now enjoying stupid price.

A year or two ago i was removing a lot of posts from people asking for school that does not ask for deposit or accept low deposit. I banned countless number of people advertising or asking for proof of fund link.

People cheated themselves from CAS to visa application and now chicken has come home to roost and we are acting sympathetic? Nah!

Experience is the best teacher.

Fastest - Auto
Best - Manual ( you can drive both and I think manual license covers both. Not 100% sure though )

Very true.......

With a manual licence, you're allowed to drive automatic & manual.......

With an automatic licence, you can ONLY drive an automatic vehicle.......

Hello house!

I'm traveling to the UK next week via EgyptAir. Abeg, any tips on how to travel with Palm oil in the luggage I'll check-in?

I got to the UK yesterday afternoon, then my new base in the evening.

Started my trip 3pm on Wednesday. Can't wait to see what the UK has in place for me. I shall do my best to make it a productive stay smiley

ABOUT MY FLIGHT
Egyptair didn't allow me to board till I got a yellow fever vaccine card.

If anyone plans to book Egypt air from Nigeria, make sure you have that card.

Also during our stop in Cairo, we waited for about 4 hours before were taken to the hotel paid for by the airline. Some Egypt air staff even told us no accommodation for us till we started opening eyes for them.

Mehn, the number of tuition support and go fund me I've seen on Twitter in the last 2 weeks ehn ( that's minus the RIP tweets for Nigerian students...)

Think people don't plan for the realities on ground

shocked

Continued naira devaluation might have meant home sources of funds might not be able to meet up.
Also, influx of care workers + dependents has meant usual 20hr jobs have not been as easy to come by.
Some also didn't have reasonable funds initially and now have to face the reality

I wonder how many would fare in the longterm (after PSW) with the new work visa rules.

Maybe the guy is just motivating his fellow breda or maybe it's the typical Nigerian I better pass my Neighbour syndrome.

Saw a post on twitter about a guy that finished his maters and he his about to begin his PHD. He slept and never woke up. Investigation was done and cause of death is "stress" . As you dey do HCA and construction try dey check on your health / blood pressure. If your body no carry work in particular day make sure you call in sick and rest. Dem just dey use shift beg me i told them im not doing no be me una go kill.

If you die today Pounds go still remain, pounds no dey finish.

Abeg we should tone down with this typical Nigerian this or that. Generalisations are almost always wrong.

Cause of death 'stress'? Hehe... Was that from the coroners report or were the 'investigations' mainly hearsay on Twitter?

. I know Mandela's violent past when he was ANC youth leader but where did that take him. He made more gains by preaching peace and self sacrifice. Martin Luther and Ghandi also paid the ultimate price for what they believed. You are the ignorant person here if you think terrorism (Hamas) is the best approach. If you are so pained, kindly take a gun and head to Palestine.

Emotional outbursts are hardly the answer.

I see your aim is to equate hamas and Palestine. i.e Palestinians = terrorists. Its a time tested emotional strategy to excuse genocide by first dehumanizing a group then visiting whatever harm upon them e.g Hitler did same with Jews etc

It's well agreed that the continued subjugation, bombing and blockade of Gaza as Israel has done over decades would only convert more Palestinians to violent fighters. Thats why even the UK and US have been pushing for an independent Palestinian state- something Israel is strongly opposed to. I wonder how long they hope to subjugate them for.

Very interested in this rent reporting agency... So that my rent money won't be dead money according to some ogas here grin

Truth be said, I doubt if that rent reporting stuff actually works. Mortgage criteria are quite straightforward

Many thanks Lolo. i had to pay for the visa fees because of the naira to GBP exchange rates.
I am still open to further counsel.
Call up airlines. Book the unaccompanied minor tickets. British airways offers it I remember.
Someone only needs to drop them off at the airport. The airline will look after them till they get to UK and are picked up on the other end by you or your wife.

Lender is offering me 13.4% APR for a car finance. Is this a good deal or I should try my luck and see if I can get a lesser APR.

But my fear is that, hope this current APR won’t leave a footprint on my credit file and make other lenders want to offer me a high APR.

Looking up the site, looks like Children under 13 years old cannot travel alone with BA unaccompanied. SUN-AIR, their partner airline, however accepts from 5 years old which obviously doesn't operate from naija.

You may have to (very painfully) call up agents. They can arrange a genuine appointment for you on a day or three -depending on how much you are willing to pay.

I speak from (my) experience. I had to (very painfully pay up to £200) to an agency in London last year.
Alternatively, book and wait for an appointment in March or April or whenever there is availability.

Can you share agency contact info please? Looking for a sure plug

https://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/politics/canada-to-reduce-the-number-of-international-study-permits-by-35-per-cent-miller-1.6736298?clipId=68596

With the economic downturn in many western nations and elections approaching, immigration has traditionally been a low hanging fruit.

With Canada, it's a bit more nuanced. Fees for local students were reduced by 10% in 2019 and since then, it was frozen. Colleges and unis were shoehorned to the international market with foreign students accounting for upto 80% of numbers in some schools. This was marked among colleges (not unis) which mainly give out diplomas. For a population of 40million, even the new cap of 360,000 is still pretty impressive.

This change has pushed the ball back from the federal government back to the provinces. It's either they fund these colleges or many would collapse. I expect intense lobbying.

Masters students are largely unaffected by the cap and they can still bring in dependents.

The reality of the 'student' market is that for any nation looking to charge extortionate fees (esp for masters), there has to be a reasonable path to longterm stay if they want to capture good numbers.

tbh i remember when people were going at you for being direct on this topic... about people coming without plan or without actual funds for deposit, etc.

A lot of people just feel they will survive and manage Or as per naija way, "nothing fit stop us from coming"

I don’t think this blanket assumption that every student facing financial difficulty failed to plan or somehow tried to cut corners is fair or logical.

Of course it’s accurate in many people’s cases but taking random news like this and laughing about them on the assumption that they caused the problem they’re in surely isn’t right.
