no mind them - i am not against anyone japa - at least its good to go see for yourself the paradise on earth you think you are missing out on by living in Nigeria - and experience they say is the best teacher - but I hate it to the marrow of my bones seeing people lie here about the same abroad - USA for that matter that I have lived in almost 30 years of my life - haba angry

Mr man stop all these your cheap lies. Show us proofs that you have really lived in the US.

na lie - stop lying - yes abroad things may be better than Nigeria in most areas but stop the hype - I have lived here almost 30 years in America - lived in New York and California (Orange County) - a high brow area for more than 10 years - we had some power issues at least 7 times in those 10 years no one brought us anything to apologize - abeg stop the hype - THANKS

He didn't say it is USA. It could be Europe.

Yeah the Anti-Japa Crew is in hiding. They're the main reason I joined Nairaland. Bunch of jokers. Who can forget their advice?

Don't migrate because your mother might die. Abroad you must borrow for every significant purchase, you will NEVER pay off your house mortgage. UK is nowhere as good as it used to be, every Nigerian in UK is suffering.

Don't move to USA because you'll never be able to save ₦10million and of course my fav...will you take your whole family...they will remain and suffer with everyone else in Nigeria.

grin grin grin

The kinds of things I'm hearing from Nigeria these days. Imagine you can't get your cash from a bank without paying a bribe to bank staff. Ordinary ₦100K !!! Middle class people abandoning their cars just like it happened back in 1984.

Let the Anti-Jakpa Crew remain there dishing out advice on countries they've never visited.

Good Luck to Nigerians grin
lol but suffering is everywhere and enjoyment is everywhere. Let's pray for grace wherever we are

The day they took the light out for 3 mins here to do some maintenance. They brought doughnuts, ice cream and burgers to apologize grin grin. I remember when internet went out for just 5 mins, the next day the internet company was here to double check everything. The funny thing is the light bills and internet bills here are even lesser than in Nigeria. It's really terrible and to be honest the current Nigeria you are experiencing is paradise compared to the Nigeria in the next few years.
And some useless and brain dead maggots will open that their guutered mouth and say "Things are cheaper in Nigeria compare to other countries"

Exactly.

My prayer points keep changing every day with how dire the situation is getting in Nigeria. I pray for something today, but when I check the news or go outside, I find myself having to change my prayer points again, if you know what I mean. It's becoming exhausting in this country.

Even for the basic things I need in this country, I find myself having to "work too hard" for them

Imagine me praying for common NEPA to bring electricity to keep my business moving.

Don't pray for the country. Simply work out solutions in ur corner. Prayers are part of the problem of the country

I know families that are almost parting ways because of this lines.
Please and please Japa comes with its own challenges and it's extremely expensive and one must think very well and be tactful before a step.

You must have funds to keep you a year or 2 ... And this runs into thousands of pounds.

I mean families sold houses, cars, left jobs and they are here fighting.... Na u say make i leave Nigeria. I am not telling u super story this is true life story.

wow please make a thread about these families and their stories and tag me in it

My brother she or he is actually right until I came before I believed.

See a lots of families that relocated last year or two are stranded. Like stranded having exhausted their funds. This are people that sold cars, houses, land and earning over 1m here in Nigeria... Combine salary of wife and husband..
.
I my self I have spent almost 30m via education rout if given just half of that money now... I swear I go return back.

Please don't allow anyone sell Hollywood movies to u.

The only time I will say come is when a company employed u and do ur visa.. What they called skilled visa. Once u land they start paying. Other than that my brother I have seen a lot here.
stupid talk ill rather be in your shoes right now that to be in Nigeria... you even have 30M to spend on education over there and you're complaining what of those that havent seen food to eat in nigeria?

What means are you using to Japa?
Education? Think twice... And have all necessary funds 100% plus living expenses 1 year upfront....this cost you 45m if UK and might be more for Australia, USA, Canada.

But for skilled like a company or hospital employed you then do your visa stuff then travel and start earning.... Better.
Please and please even that guy u quoted will be the one to call u names once u failed.

Whatever means is better than staying in Nigeria. I've expounded on this for a while, my comment record is open to view. Nigeria has NEVER been a rich or developed country. Once you understand that then you can make informed decisions.

The real problem now is that the peoples of North America, Western Europe and developed Oyibo nations are now tired of immigration. If Trump wins that might be the beginning of the end of easy migration, he will even revoke birth-right citizenship for those born to illegal immigrants.

Good Luck to Nigerians.

another hopeless comment meant to create hopelessness in people....let your words edify. How is internet and light cheaper? Cheapest Electricity is $250 - $300 during winter time...that's close to N400,000 a month and internet can be as much as $80 which is about N120,000 for a month of use. You japa to UK...yes you will work but those care jobs are no different from bricklayers or laborers in Nigeria...you feel them in your body true and true...even security jobs. Ask those with the experiences...ask about people that got sick and relocated at mid age, ask about our people in mental institutions, ask about our people with strokes abroad...yet we come online and sell paradise that is not real for average Nigerian ABROAD.

The only difference between abroad and 9ja is that the system here is working....
In terms of food and weather and cost of living... 9ja beat abroad hands down......
So if you have a job that pays well in 9ja and you can live comfortably and still have some to save.... Broz I suggest you stay in 9ja...

To be honest even outside the country the hustle continues but the difference is you see the results of your hardwork. You can plan stuff, work towards them and actually see the results manifesting but it's a whole different scenario in Nigeria. People who are still getting married and giving birth to Nigerian born children are some of the bravest human beings on earth.

YEAH BRO YOU ARE CORRECT.......NOT THAT EASY HERE, BUT AT LEAST YOU ARE POSITIVELY CERTAIN IN ALMOST EVERY NECESSARY THINGS........ SECURITY, CONDITION OF LIVING, HEALTH CARE, EDUCATION ETC........... 1 POUND STERLING TO NAIRA AS OF TODAY 1st FEB IS 1,800. IT'S GONNA BE GOOD LAS LAS.

I am only advising people not to get deceived by what they see online or hear. Experience is the best teacher. That your friend that Japa yesterday showing u fine fine pictures you might not know the real picture.

Again anyone telling u he or she travels not necessarily for job might be a very high class person in Nigeria. That have investment spinning millions for him or her each month.

Like where I stay I pay 1.5 million in a month. Just a small space. Other expensive places goes time two of that amount.

Not to talk about tax, they tax your income, send council tax to you every three month, send you gas bills, heat, bills etc converting this in naira every month is not easy.

So one primary reason most people travel is to sustain their self through jobs and by extension give their children good healthcare, security....
They do not pay you in naira, so you have no reason to convert them to naira.

Bros... I have 2 kids... A biz and was working a job of 202k per month in 9ja...
I was able to cater well for my family, was living in a big house and was planning to even buy a car...
By a large means... I was comfortable to a certain extent....
Now I'm in Europe to start over.....
Without experience here.. You will have to start all over to work your way up the food chain which is never easy to do...
So far... I had a better life while in 9ja than now...
That is not to say I regret the decision I've made because me na certified hustler...
I'm just saying that, if one has a good job or an assured means of livelihood.... 9ja no really bad.....
Okay, can you compare the quality of life in Nigeria to European countries? You can have a good job but are the government policies favorable? That Europe that you are in when last did you see your light go off? To enjoy that same luxury in 9ja you've to burn a lot of fuel(at 600+) or install solar systems, if you're in for the long term game in Europe you'd eventually enjoy the system.

Everybody is complaining about dollar but is dollar our currency?
Focus on local production and forget about dollar!
If you want to go abroad, put the plan on hold and focus on fixing your country.

IF YOU CANNOT DO THOSE THINGS, THEN STOP COMPLAINING OR GO OUT AND PROTEST! BUT I KNOW A PROTEST IS IMPOSSIBLE COS NIGERIANS ARE INHERENTLY COWARDS!!
