ExcessKJ:

The Board of Directors proposed a Final Dividend of N1.80k (Dec 2022: N1.30 Kobo) per ordinary share of 50 Kobo each on the 35,545,225,622 issued ordinary shares of 50k each payable to
shareholders on the register of shareholding at the closure date. Withholding will be deducted at the time of payment.

Please 🙏, I need help to interprete what this statement mean. Although, obviously access is paying a shareholders approved N1.80k dividend per share. But what is the meaning of per ordinary share of 50 kobo on each of their 35 billion share issued ordinary shares of 50k each payable to shareholders on the register

Thank you
The share value of every stock you see in the NGX has nominal value, regardless of how much it is selling presently. The nominal value of quoted Access bank shares on the stock exchange is 50k. Most companies have 50k as their nominal value as at the time of listing their shares on the floor of the exchange while others have 20k as the value. That notwithstanding, if you have 1 million units of Access bank shares, you will be paid N1.80k multiply by 1 million units that you have.

The BDC game is something Mr Y. Cardoso is very familiar with.
He has displayed tact and acumen in handling the DD-SS connection.
Now that the market is flooded with USD, the price has to come down to reflect economic realities... grin grin

Next focus for the govt should be stopping reducing oil theft and government borrowings then we are good wink

Have their results been released? Why is zenith and Gt moving up when ACCESS whose dividend was declared has remained stagnant?
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 1:28pm On Mar 27
Dangote is paying a 30 Naira dividend, and now UCAP is also going to pay 1.8, which I am liking. But, it is not always about how much we will benefit from the next round of dividend earnings. We need to hold these companies accountable for their actions.

I don't know about you, but I don't want blood money. I have noticed that Dangote Cement is not keen on safety. One of its trucks crashed into an electric pole on my friend's street in Port Harcourt, and now another incident in Lagos has taken the life of an innocent bystander.

It is not all about updating their "write-offs, impairment of property, plant, equipment, and intangibles" line as mere expenses on their books oo. angry angry embarassed

It could be FPIs activities (FPI - Foreign Portfolio Investors)
The type of funds entering the stocks are massive
ZENITH and GTCO are parts of their favourites stocks.....lol.
* Also, the dollar gangs may be taking position as $$ is depreciating against Naira

ACCESS may likely still respond too, especially if the positive momentum in the sector continues......and once others starts declaring their dividends as well.

Note that this is what I thought could cause it, it may be right or wrong....

GT, ZEE, UBA and ACCESS: Each has over N1bn in transactions so far....

So many things are wrong with Nigeria......The road that truck sits on is never meant to handle more than 30ton load at a spot, what is a truck of over 63ton doing on it.... .. ......

We need to shift our focus to upholding systemic actions instead of focusing on individuals

Dangote Cement is not an individual entity but rather a publicly owned company of which I am a shareholder. As a shareholder, I have the right to raise questions regarding safety in regards to its operations. I would not want to own a company that disregards safety and poses a danger to others.

I noticed your subtle hint, but I no longer engage in such games. undecided

Thanks Madam Mercy for always updating us.

UCAP's PAT growth is below my expectation. It appears the subsidiaries returned a net loss. I hope there can be a turnaround in that. Its dividend growth is interesting(20%). Its dividend to earnings ratio is usually high. That makes it hard to grow its equity/reserves. For a company in the financial services sector that naturally has elevated risks, that's surprising.
*Regardless, UCAP's potentials cannot be underestimated.

Good one from Access bank. This seems to point to the big banks releasing very good results with good dividend payouts, relative to previous year (2022). It's also understandable that the dividend yields/payout ratios may not satisfy investors' expectations because they will likely be facing recapitalization soon. Speaking of recapitalization, the urgency around it is suspicious.

Let's hope the results trickling in can feed a bull, even if it's a small one.

pls don't judge UCAP by the EPS alone.
Look at the Shareholders fund growth, thats the koko, if they added that into the profit alone (financial gains) , you go know say the company value is grossly underestimated. I expected a bonus offer, and since they didn't that's better for equity value. keeping my cutlass ready while i look for cash to load more. 18-20naira will be a sweet entry point now.

Yes, thankfully, they didn't share that too. It's very good for their Book value. Most financial services firms have that extraordinary growth in shareholders funds. We know where that's coming from. I would prefer to see a higher earnings retention percentage. But, to each mallam his kettle. High dividends payout works for them, at least, for now.

You do have a very good point.

Shareholder is part owner and shouldn't only be concerned about dividends.
