Dear youngies,the best advice anyone can ever give to you is that -"go and learn a skill". You may not understand how important it is at this moment,but trust me,with time, you'll get to know how valuable it is..

Same regret here too

At age 17, I got a partial scholarship to the UK to study nursing. I couldn't take it up because I needed the people around me to endorse it. That was as far back as 2002.
I later studied engineering. Though I'm doing okay for myself today, but I regret ever missing out on such an opportunity at a very young age. Perhaps my life would have taken another trajectory.
To the younger people, your elders are not always right. Sometimes, you need to be resilient and not look for people's opinions, especially when you are pursuing your dreams.

As for me, for someone starting from the scratch. When you start making money, let's say hundreds of thousands ... never let your family or friends know yet, invest some of the funds into what gave you the initial money without having a second thought, and seek for more updates.

This is full of wisdom, and I can relate to this.
Never be in haste or hurry to show off or let your family/friends know when you start making some money.
Try to invest and secure your future first, before you allow them to know or see the evidence. Keep a low profile.
This would help you to keep focus, avoid distractions and unnecessary expenses and wastes.

I should have learn a skill when I was much younger.

As the last of seven children, I didn't prioritize my future, waited for siblings. I believed things were going to fall in place for me, not knowing life doesn't work that way. I learned the hard way, and today I thank God I didn't enter 6ft b4 I realized I had to hussle on my own, and that NO ONE OWES me anything dime.
