Good Morning House,
Please, as anyone been to the embaSsy of late, how much is the visa fee? It was 12,500 the last time I was there. I believe it would have increase due to the recent free fall of the Naira.
Secondly, as the embassy changed the application form for long term visa? Its use to be application for residence permit but all I see on the site now is application for a national visa. Is the two actually the same? Thanks
Please still waiting for a response

helo guys,
different strokes for different folks i guess!
Here, language is not a barrier at all as everyone here speaks English. I guess it all depends on the city u stay. Yes the language is nice to learn but not a do or die affair. Even old people here speak english well.

NOTE: This is just my experience based on where am staying and studying.

Hast du schon mal ausprobiert ? Es schmeckt gut.

Naijaobi, you may not be having issues in your city with the language now, but it is and will always be a barrier.
let me ask you, how many local friends have you made ? How easy is it for you to communicate when you leave your city. Don't tell me you don't wish to leave your city. Because Germany is such a large and beautiful country. I'll be in Frankfurt before Xmas, hopefully

Hi guys, I used nipost, and yesterday makes it 1 month it has not yet reach uni assist. I had to use DHL in order to meet d deadline.
What is this registered mail you guys talking about cz, I want to send an application again. DHL too cost!

And abt conversion of cgpa, most schools ask for 2.5 German scale. Now for that dude that converted 2.86 how dd that give you 2.6?? Using the formula 3.5 on Nigerian scale gvs u 2.5 on german.

Just tell them at the post office you want to post using registered mail.
2.9 in Nigeria gives you 2.5 in Germany while 3.5 in Nigeria would give you 2.0 in Germany.

She cannot get admission with just her waec/neco. She would A/level or at least a completely first year in a Nigerian university. Well I am not too sure about ND cert, so I can't say, she can maybe try. She might be considered. Some schools are more lenient that others depending on what she wants to study. Her first year has to be good and relevant because they convert it to their german grading system.
As for toefl or ielts, it also depends on the school as well, some schools may wave it, for some they would not compromise and some would only wave if she has nothing less than a C4 in her waec.
Hope this helps!

This is not always the case in every uni in nigeria. I would advise you check your course registration slip. The units differ in some semesters. You can have 18, 21, 24 or 30. So depending on your course and uni you might end up with 180, 210 or 240. So confirm from your school.

500 Nigerians go to study in Germany yearly.

Just 500? I'm surprised to hear that. With the way the German embassy dish out student visas. I thought it would have been up to 2000.
