- received and acknowledgement mail of my documents frm uni-assit last week and the other school I applied, I checked my status on the other school, I saw my application in procces, but for uni-assist, I saw my application submitted electronically but processing not yet started, I will like to hear from those who's have gone tru this process to knw hw soon uni-assist works

Danke!

I got admitted into a joint program by University of Goettingen and University of Kassel without using Uni Assist. Did the online registration but couldn't print so I mailed the Prof in charge to inform him and he said no problem but I should send my documents through mail first so he could check if I quality and the next thing I saw was an admission letter. My hard copy hasn't even gotten to them. I wouldn't know if they operate like that or it was an exception but it was quite pleasant and very impressive -no hassle at all and surprising . The whole process took about a week from my sending my documents through email. They were the first school i applied to.

It's Masters o (Msc sustainable international agriculture ) but my questions are actually about the towns -Kassel and Goettingen so u can answer them too. So the questions:

1. How are the towns in terms of getting jobs to supplement ones living cost when needed? Like how much can one get per hour? This is quite important for me.
2. I wouldn't know if u can assist with getting accommodation. I have tried booking at Goettingen but was told the waiting list is about 15 months!

Thanks.

@ oga eke40seven pls assist.too with info. I also know that similar questions must have been answered but I wanted the situation for those particular towns. So make una no vex o and spoon feed a little.

I sent it through a friend going to dublin, so he sent it from there. But it is better u send urs thru nipost registered mail at their main office, its is faster there. I paid uni-assist thru my brothers wife in germany, because paying from here, the charges is quite much, upto 7k

I appreciate your honest admission of the 'spoon-feeding' ....

Kassel and Goettingen are both large towns. The former is bigger though. Both present admirable job opportunities for Students who deem it necessary to pick up some bucks for a living. But I have teeny-weeny gut feeling they might demonstrate a preference for German proficiency. Try to join the Facebook Group 'Jobs in Kassel und Nordhessen' on facebook.

Accomodation is really a big biatch in Germany.. believe that. I suggest you visit wg-gesucht.de, Studentwerk Kassel or Studentenwerk Goettingen websites .. It might just pay off too to join the group 'wohnen in kassel' on facebook.

I think our other brothers in the house may have further answers to your questions.

All the best.

You too much Senior Junipero! Thanks a bunch.

I have sent my documents by post to 4 schools already, and by mail to about 8. But was favoured to get admitted to the first. Wanted to see if I should continue processing with the other schools. Now I know It's not needed.

I want to make sure all d necessary ingredients (good school, plenty jobs, and good town) are in one place. It wouldn't hurt to have jobs to do to make some cool bucks to take flex once in a while.

Are you in Uni Kassel too? And do you know how to contact Andre09, he might be doing same program with me if I go by his earlier posts.

Thanks once again.

Pls brothers in the house can still contribute o. God bless you all.

It's one course, a joint program by both schools. Msc in Sustainable International Agriculture. Students enjoy access to both school's facilities like accommodation and the rest. You take lectures at both schools too depending on your program.

Junipro, has given you a first hand, 'on-the-scene' report. Since he is in Kassel, which is not more than a 30-45 mins ride from Göttingen. you can trust his opinion.
From what I gathered from someone who once roamed lower Saxony, and around North Hesse, you can be sure to learn posh German there. They are not very big cities, just above the 100k mark. Kassel of course bigger. Göttingen is a uni town, the uni is more popular than the city itself, which implies that it caters to its own kind of population.
The only challenge with Kassel is that you must only survive in Kassel if you depend on your semester ticket for movement because its a bit far from other important places where your ticket covers like Frankfurt, Darmstadt and Olfenbach, but in Göttingen, there are other far more closer places you can explore your semester ticket with to look for job opportunities like Hildesheim, Salzgitter or if you wanna move more than an hour, Brunswick, Wolfsburg and Hannover.
As I said earlier, junipro is your man, he should be more informed.

I wanted to address someone who talked about 2.2 results, but his post missed like a magic wand. grin
To whom it may concern, the issue thou art faced with is not the classification but the actual CGPA figure. Note that a GP of 3.4/5.0 is 2.2 but am sure one with such wouldst get an admission with that result comfortably, of course with a good motivation letter I.e if demanded in the first place. Many schools will ask for a 3.0/5.0 or better. I have seen lesser though but of course, you need a good supplement like work experience and GMAT or GRE in some cases.

Whichever way, let your motivation letter be absolutely perfect.
if you have a Bsc background in architecture or URP and your GP is lower than 3.0/5.0, holla at me let me fix you up with a schl, but its in the east, and they pay some tuition.

God bless y'all

Guys for winter admission, now is the time to start getting ready. If u need IELTS or TOEFL, get it done latest February. If you've not gotten your transcript, try and get it fast.

You don't need to travel to Lagos to certify your documents at the German embassy if you are not based in Lag. You can have your documents notarised using a notary puplic. Simply work into any High court, ask anyone there that you want some documents notarised. They'll link you to the lawyer who will do it. Not all lawyers do it. The notarisation involves a seal and stamp. not just stamp alone.

If you want to apply through Uniassist,. Pay through ''futurewise11''. He's tested and trusted.
Apply to as many schools as possible. DO NOT just apply on a particular course, diversify a little.
DO NOT think because you have first class, you must be admitted , lai lai.. Come here you will see indian, chinese students with grades higher than first class sef..lol. grin grin. That's why am advising you should diversify both in terms of schools and courses as well.

If you will use a sponsor, start now to worry your sponsor on the letter o. Don't wait till the last minute. shocked shocked

I greet you all.
Merry Christmas to everyone

If you are coming on student status, I'll advice you learn some programing skills, I'm very certain you get a job at the university or outsourcing job, The demand for programmers is far exceeding the supply. There is more to vocational skills in Germany, especially the language disadvantage; moreover, if you are an artist and you are good at what you do then you are good to go here. I will also advice fellow students (Tope and others) here to build up their IT skills before graduation (programming oder database), cos if you try to build a career that are people oriented rather than machine oriented you will find a lot of difficulties competing with Germans in the labour market. I say all these from my experience.
this thing is for real

Nwanne, I know you on a personal level so I could still ask you privately even by midnight grin
However, for the benefit of people worrying about their lack of proficiency in the German language; amount to spend on feeding and all sort of expenses and English language and other issues; how are you coping generally taking those issues into consideration.
How difficult or easy is School?
How is life generally, sweet, boring or just there and how are you integrating with others?
Everyone complaining of lack of the presence of veterans, Naijobi is here, ask your question while he is still here. grin
