NO, GMB should not debate with Gej. It is pay back time. 2011 GMB went for debate while Gej was absent and Gej went on to win the election so now Gmb also should Be absent and he will win the election without debate.
barcanista:
Two days after Muhammadu Buhari Campaign spokesman announced the boycott of the amiable General from the PDP sponsored NEDG Presidential Debate, ChannelsTV in partnership with ARISETV and Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria announced their proposed Presidential debate between the Amiable General Muhammadu Buhari and His Excellency President Ebelemi Jonathan. Fans and supporters of the General including yours faithfully jubilated and really looked forward to the clash of the political titans. We were happy because unlike the NEDG composition where all the members have ties with the PDP and the Presidency, that of the ChannelsTV/NPAN/AriseTV carries a toga of fairness and neutrality. It came as a shock when I read the news of withdrawal by the APC strategist Mr. Dele Alake

Channels Television owned by Chief John Momoh is one of the only few unbiased broadcast station. John Momoh has dinstinguished himself as a professional Journalist right from his days in Radio Nigeria and Nigeria Television Authority. He has never held any appointment for any party neither is he known to fraternise with any political party. If any Television Station enjoy respect from among their pairs for their stand on neutrality, that station is Channels TV.

AriseTV is an international broadcast station with broadcast houses in London, Lagos, New York and Johannesburg. I am yet to see their frolicking with any Nigeria politician or government official. They are unbiased in their reportage.

NPAN is an association of all the print media owners. In other words, both the neutral, biased, political and non-political are members of this Association.

Considering the composition of the debate coordinators, one cannot help but agree that the unbias of the organisers is not in doubt. The APC should allow the amiable General to go head to head with the President, and allow Nigerians the chance to assess both candidates. Personally, I believe in the ability and administrative skills of the amiable General, I also believe in him to take on the President and floor him in the debate. This will not be the first time that the General will partiicipate in a political debate, he debated in 2007 and 2011 and was very impressive. His accent is not a problem to me as long as he passes the right message. APC should allow the General participate and stop making it look like the General is afraid of debate. The excuse of Dele Alake is unacceptable and illogical. I hope that the party will reconsider their position.

God bless the General
God Bless Nigerians

You all don't need to support APC by force,We,the committed APC supporters would vote for them. Be on your lane, vote for candidate of your choice. I know why I'm voting for Buhari and APC candidates, I have seen enough evidences why my family should not vote for PDP. I'm not blind and not deaf. when I read some born to suffer people's post, i wish i support their abortion.

Quit the nonsense.....a 1 or 2 hours waste of time call debate will not sway the opinions of millions of Nigerians already formed just in few days.

You want to kill yourself over debate.....it's your call.
Wow you call honoring Nigerians with the debate a waste of time, interesting exactly the same way NgeneUkwenu said buhari and apc are too busy with campaign to address the certificate issue, but he has time to go on shows and tweet nonsense to look appealing to his gullible followers.

Do you remember this?
Buhari’s words: ” I only consented to address you this morning because of the genuine concern expressed by many supporters and other well-meaning Nigerians that the issue be addressed. Otherwise, I would have dismissed it for what it is—sheer mischief and would not have considered it an issue worth the nation’s while. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/buhari-clears-air-certificates/#sthash.rPvWtoxa.dpuf

Are we that desperate as a nation that we cant reason? Yesterday I respected Sambo for the 1st time ever! He was able to sell himself. Buhari should attend it please.

what do you mean? I just listed my understanding with their decision to declined any debates. Pls can you tell me why its a must for GMB to go into any debate? Is there any law enforced such that may have escaped my mind?

Trust me buhari is likely to win, not for any reason but because power must return to the north and my brothers down south are too blind to see this.

It's a game plan sir, watch how even PDP governors make U turn few days to election and all for buhari, for the first time you having both serving ministers and top PDP members defending buhari i.e Aliyu Gusau on certificate issue.

It's simple, the election is between the north and GEJ

No, exactly the way you his follower said no law to have him clear the air on the certificate issue, trust me majority of Nigerians don't even know the truth about this matter, if really he has certificate or not.

One would have expected Buhari to demand waec to release the result and not some oluwole stamped photocopied paper released by the school principal.

Buhari is not bound by law to go for debate, same way he will tell us he is not bound by law to give account of stewardship if elected.

Nigerians be careful the change you seek, libya, egypt etc once shouted change and they got it, now they regretting it.
Well, I'm actually not totally against mr president. He come around like a nice being, but it is his decision making abilities that is swaying me away from him precisely. Just show me that you really want to eradicate corruption as a leader and I am all yours. Corruption is my problem fight it and you win me all over.
However, this is the only country we have and i imaging we are all clamouring for the betterment of Everyone in it peace.

But on a lighter note I like/want debates but making it compulsory is a joke too far, are we part of any kindergarten?
i just dont understand why a man that answered all question put to him correctly at the townhall meeting is made to look like he's afraid of a debate. Like barcanista said, his accent is not a problem. By the time he's seen speaking in public like he's doing right now, people will get used to it(accent).

I hope when your man is defeated for refusing to honor Nigerians, you won't go on killing spree like you did in 2011

Now it's on record, Buhari is the first candidate to abscond from a debate when he has opportunity to refute allegations against him.

This is an indication that the man is far more incompetent, clueless and dumb than the present dumb man we have.

Nigerians are you ready for a clueless and dictator just yet?

I'm fully in support of this. I was really disappointed when I read the news that Buhari was boycotting the Channels TV debate. In my own view, that debate was going to be totally non-partisan and would've provided a level playing field for all Presidential Aspirants. APC should stop trying to influence the General not to debate Jonathan and other aspirants, if it is because of his accent, many Nigerians don't mind as almost every tribe has it's own accent...What is most important is the message being passed across. Why would anyone be scared of debating Jonathan who has failed so woefully?? shocked

Personally I would have even preferred a GEJ vs GMB face-off where both candidates throw direct questions at each other on live TV.
buhari is definitely going to go into a debate with other contestant.. all he is doing for now is political calculation..

Am with you on this and guess what? I hated Goodluck's gut cos of the impunity episodes but when I studied his policies and polity I he has won me over. Do you know With the help of Information Technology (IT) Jonathan has helped to prevent corruption:
e-Wallethas enabled Jonathan to eliminate corruption in the agricultural sector. Now, every farmer has direct access to fertilisers unlike before
IPPIShas enabled Jonathan's administration to eliminate corruption in the payment of salaries to civil servants. Now it's computer software who pays civil servants and no longer the Finance Officers of the Minstries or Parastatals or Agencies.
goPRS, a public procurement review software is a corruption prevention tool for public regulatory authorities (check the software developer's website for more details: http://goprs.unodc.org). This has really helped in curbing the corruption practices during procurement.
This development along with others is a slow process but a steady one. Our Transparency Index (an index used to access the corruption level of a country) has improved due to this scientific approach by Jonathan. Click on this link to see the slow but steady improvement: http://www.vanguardngr.com /2014/12/corruption-index- nigerias-improvement- confirms-jonathans- anti-corruption-fight/
The fight against corruption should be institutionalised and not personalised.
Nigeria shall be great. The idea is to eliminate the middle man in government dealings. So who'll steal the money they cant see? Government's money will only be entrusted with people that are accountable where disburment of funds will be from CBN into the beneficiaries bank accounts...please study on this. Fighting corruption is by jailing wont be necessary with this method. The oil thefts and nnpc saga is quiet unfortunate. Do you also know that the anti corruption campaign of Buhari was fought back and that led to his removal? Fighting corruption with blows means corruption can blow it and come back with a fierce uppercut. Or even a knock out as in the case of GMB though not corrupt but his corrupt officials that went to collect the 52 briefcases ended up indicting the innocent General. The process is gradual and with its completion we'll know who to hold should our money get missing cos we'll know who to hold accountable. The cyber crime law has been enacted by Goodluck to protect this new system of government dealings. Am down with this...pure genius!
