Hello Gurus,
Kindly look at part of an email (in red below) from Accra Visa Office regarding my application:

1) Updated Proof of funds: you must have in the form of transferable and available funds, unencumbered by debts or other obligations. Send updated bank statements, fixed deposit certificates, etc. If you have made large deposits into your accounts or fixed term investments, you must provide evidence of where the funds originated. For more details please see:

2) Proof of your involvement and right to profits from family company (company code, registration, letter from the bank, company bank statements, etc.

My questions are:
a) At this stage, can I still change my account type? I sold a landed property recently and I intend opening a fixed deposit with it. A new addition to my family has made the former POF insufficient.

b) In my application, I attached a letter to buttress my source of POF explaining that my wife runs our family business. Now, CIC wants proof of this family business as stated in (2) above. But the problem are that, the business is not registered with CAC (because it's just a small store that sells few building materials) and we do not have a separate business account (we use our personal account which we submitted the statement of account to CIC earlier). Now that AVO wants this proof, what can I do and I have less than 30 days?

Please, I need your advise urgently on these.

Regards

It's a difficult scenario here. It will be difficult proving the source of your fund from an "unregistered" business that is lucrative enough to provide you the much that you need as proof of settlement fund.

Whatever anybody gives you here will end up as a 50:50 chance.

Please draft a letter explaining that the business that your spouse run is not registered but you have provided pictures (This in itself is not a strong basis because you might have taken the pictures anywhere anyways),you must also provide tax receipts, tax documents showing that this business exist or the individual's name with which tax is paid on the business( This might be another difficult point as question will arise as to what business name you registered with the govt. for tax purpose). At some point, the business must have purchased the "building materials" from a company, please provide invoices detailing the purchases by this company as well as receipts showing how payments are made for the goods purchased - This must have some form of correlation with withdrawals in your bank account. You also need to provide copies of sales invoices together with copies of stamped deposit slips corresponding to the lodgment in your bank account.

In your letter, please indicate the profit sharing formula {If any}.

Remember that this fund cannot be borrowed and you must prove that this fund is available to you and must be unencumbered by any debt or lien.

Like I mentioned earlier,it is always suspicious when proceeds from "unregistered business" is presented and there are no proper accounting records for the business to a consulate/an embassy. It is easy to dismiss this on the basis of ingenuity than waste so much resources for the immigration office{ers} trying to do the accounting for the business {and their knowledge on accounting may be limited anyways}.

The ball is in your court, present the business, providing the much facts at your disposal to show this business exist though unregistered.

If you ask me,I'd say you should present a new and GENUINE bank statement altogether if there is with prove of the source of fund - NOT A FIXED DEPOSIT ACCOUNT RECENTLY OPENED but a proper bank statement showing transaction for at least 6 months. This however does not douse the suspicious already raised on the initial "unregistered business'" bank statement

Hello Zeelo,

Some of the provinces too are requiring that you have a job or know someone. From your experience, what is the easy way out?

Thanks for your advise.

You can't give what you don't have mate!

If you don't "have a job or know someone",just waka pass. There are other provinces/territories with less stringent conditions, approach them. Follow the guidelines, present yourself economically resourceful and you'd smile in the end.

What will happen after receiving PER? MR? OR interview at local visa office?

At every stage of the way,you would receive instructions detailing what is required of you. Each person's case is peculiar and so the instructions are tailored towards individual's case.

Well...you can contact them to explain to you why, and let you know when it takes for the result of a re-assessment to be published. That should at least help have you have a timeline in mind.

Hi solomonwis, isn't it possible to have family support or sponsor?

Hi solomonwis, isn't it possible to have family support or sponsor?

Yes,you can have "family support" but the definition of family support ends with funds made available by the principal applicant, Accompanying spouse or both. Other than these two,the onus lies on the principal applicant to prove that fund or evidence of fund presented is indeed available, not borrowed or encumbered by debt of any kind.

It is always an herculean task proving that other sources of fund prove the availability for use by the principal applicant and his/her family.

It is not every part of Express Entry that applies to all applicants. That part of EE asking for Canadian Work experience does not apply to you if you have not worked legally for any employer in Canada. There is another part of EE which is referred to as Foreign work experience, that's what's applicable to you {If you have worked in your chosen occupation for a period of time}.

But from what I have read on the website, the canadian work experience add up to the overall score of 1200.

From the perspective of the FCID in Nigeria,it is valid for 3 months but for the purpose of your application for immigration,it is valid for 12 months.

Jeez, thanks for your response, I appreciate it. Well, wish me luck then.

You are on the right track. Finish up with your IELTS and ECA,then move on to creating a profile on Express Entry. You can then wait for selection once you are accepted into the pool.

Express Entry is pretty straight forward, you can do without paid representative. If you have come thus far,you can go farther all by yourself abiding by the instructions.Employing the services of a paid representative will not give you an edge in the EE pool.

There is no "Express Entry interview" except of course there is any need for clarification on your profile by your visa office and that is towards the finalization of your application.[/quote]

Then focus should be on areas where you can improve on your score. Let it be known that aside job offer/provincial nomination, you cannot score above 600 points.

You can always check to see what you'd like score/eligibility via this link http://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/eapp/eapp.do;jsessionid=11182566F39663B68E5236EE7F5E60DA

Was just wondering how Canada employment letter accepted for express entry would look like. Pls share if you have one. Not full info just an idea.
Secondly, what should be the status of the company offering the employment, a multinational, local or a one man biz?
Thirdly, what could be the implication of a job offer to both the employee and the employer.(taxation may start immediately)?
Just wondering. Pls share your opinion smiley

Many thanks for your kind explanation, However, all the points you raised, i am very much aware of them and my professional is under NOC Skill B. i had my ECA since 2013 As it stands, I have over 69K canadian dollars for family of 3 including the myself. my work experience in this NOC skill job B is is over 15 yrs. age 38yrs IELTS speaking 8, writing 7.5 listinig 6.5 reading 5.5 but even at "check eligibility" I inputed this scores and that of my spouse and it was marked eligible. every other details as regards to information for eligibility were all inputed. my spouse IELTS is in good standing for adatability. my MSc is almost been evaluated. Though I have applied for NSPN inunder EE becuase my profession is among those in demand in Nova Scotia.. What do you think and what is the way forward? Regards.
