Sometimes This country gives me heart attack. Why some groups are so sentimental. They feel more powerful and sensible than other others. In as much I am in support of the bolded, I don't think Nigeria has been fair to the Yorubas at large. Your argument would have swayed me had it been those who were appointed during OBJ regime to manage, administer and direct all the affairs of NDDC were non-South Southerners but any such Nigerian from any region provided he/she is competent and can do it well. My exposure to Nairaland is gradually making me to dislike the Yoruba people. I once liked yorubas, their music, their culture and i find the way they talk funny too. I've had a whole lot of Yoruba friends.
But very recently i am seeing the other side of the Yorubas. The most tribal group in the country.

Yorubas failing to realise that the things they pride themselves with are artificial which means any other region can have it. Lagos is not the only city accross the costline. Most states in the south-south are not landlocked. Which means, a port can be established elsewhere should yorubas decide to form their own "country". They won't be missed.

I lived in US for 5 to 6 years before I relocated back to UK and I can boldly tell you that Igbos in these two countries are not even up to 20% of Yorubas population. The same story in Canada and Ireland. You can only see large numbers of Igbos in these following countries: South Africa, Malaysia and China.

Pls, if you doubt my submission, go to Any Airport in State, UK, Ireland, Canada even our own Airport- MMA and listen to most of the passengers who are Nigerians. You ll realise that 80% of Nigerians at these Airports I have mentioned are Yorubas. It's so bad that some of these Countries Immigration staff are now speaking one to two Yoruba words.

Pls don't bring few Igbos that travel to Dubai and China to buy their goods into this cos there are Yorubas who buy their products from China too but I m 100% sure that Igbos do more of that than Yorubas.

My friend, out of 10 biggest market in Nigeria today, Yorubas have 5 markets(Alaba, Bodija, Gbagi, Idumota and Oja Oba while Igbos have 4 (Ariaria, Onitsha market, Ogbete and New Market Aba). So where do you get this self serving stat from?
