Gwinnett Hospital

Gwinnett Medical Center does not offer package pricing for deliveries.

Prices are based on level of care and length of stay. On average, patients who experience a normal vaginal delivery and remain in our facility for 2 days incur charges from $8,000 to $10,000.

Patients who deliver by caesarian who remain in our facility for 4 days incur charges from $15,000 to $25,000.

Please note that these are estimated charges only and as previously stated, charges are based on level of care and length of stay. These prices include well baby care only (estimated charges for each baby is approximately $2,000.00) and additional charges will be added if your baby is cared for in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Receiving care in our Neonatal Unit will also result in a separate bill from Gwinnett Neonatology.

Uninsured patients will be eligible for a total discount of 40% for facility fees only providing payment is posted to your account within 30 days of your discharge date.

*Anesthesia will bill separately and often offer discounts if their fee is paid up front. You may contact them directly: American Anesthesiology 866-507-5244.

*Physician fees are also separate. If you do not have a physician, you may contact our referral line at 678-312-5000.

Final charges are non-negotiable beyond the 40% discount that is available 30 days post discharge. Personal checks will not be accepted as a form of payment. Payments must be made by credit card or certified funds.

Why don't you just use Northside hospital? They charge $3550 for a 2 day stay at the hospital(for vaginal delivery) and you can get obgyn affiliated to them at $2200.The prices I got from Gwinett are way higher than what you're being told o.

Hello everyone,

I find this topic so interesting and I wonder why I didn't come across it when I was planning to have my baby who is about 1yr+4months now. I had her in Westland, Michigan and d cost was around $6,000 though I stayed with my sister for that 3months period. I used Dr Anthony Udo, a Nigerian from AkwaIbom state who has been in the US for over 30years now. He proposed the Hospital (Oakland) and i had to pay upfront ($4500 for Vaginal delivery).

I had some complications on the d-day which could have led to CS but this Dr knew just what to do and thank God my baby came out healthy and cute. I must confess that I ate everything eatable in that hospital after my baby's birth; i ate and drank as if i had never eaten before.

Now, I have a question:

My Visa expires in July and I intend to go visit my sister for like 2weeks this month end, I want to know what to say in case i'm being questioned as regards my last visit which lasted about 3months as against the 2weeks that I told the Entry Clearance Officer. A friend of mine with a similar story was delayed at Abu Dhabi (Preclearance) with series of questions but she was eventually allowed to fly into the US. I'm flying Delta and the POE is Atlanta, I really wish to know how the airport security check is so I can prepare myself well to avoid any unwanted issues. My sister is having a baby and she wants me around.

Thanks people.

Simply say the truth.
Most B1/B2 visa holders are stamped in for 6 months because the CBP also envisage that you may need to extend your stay. Except they stamped you in for 2 weeks and you over stayed till 3 months you dont have cause to worry.

My sis I had to ask my friend who had a one year old to give me an estimate of the amount of diapers she had used. So far I've used:
148 NB size; 374 size 1; 320 size 2;
478 size 3+ a gift carton; 267 size 4 and counting( I'm keeping the numbers for next journey) wink
Didn't say how many cartons coz it depends on diaper brand.
for wipes I bought 2 cartons 900count each.
So far I've bought only 1carton of wipes here.
Remember you might get gifts of diapers and wipes too o. I was not so lucky after running my mouth. Lol grin
And I shipped by sea with other things to naija. Just keep the ones your baby would use before your stuff arrives.
I'm sure Other BTDT moms on NL can help too.

No need for you to lie because they are likely to know you had a baby recently. Why dont you just tell them the real reason for the trip and prepare for the interview with your burden of proof

Since you were stamped in for six months, there are chances the CBP will not ask u how long u stayed cos u did not overtstay and if eventually they do ...you shouldn't try lieing cos the date u clocked out of the US is in the system( talking from experience o). Just say the truth about having a baby and REMEMBER to hold ur hospital receipt and zero balance letter with you so u can show them as proof of payment o...

From your post,i dont think you told the VO during your visa interview that you were pregnant and using the visa for birthing purpose, because if you did you wouldn't have told cbp at poe that you are spending 2wks when you ended up spending 3 months. So therefore, just pray that you find favour with whoever you will meet at poe. And also go with all your hospital receipts and letter of zero balance

Well done everyone in the house for d wonderful contributions.

Pls l need advice on this issue. I want to give my sister my baby's Social Security Number, she needs it to fill for TAX ONLY. I just want to assist her to gain more in Tax returns. I believe so much in her, so d idea of using it otherwise will not crop up.

However l want to know if there ll be any negative implications at long run (Affecting d parents in getting their papers) Thanks

After struggling to find decent accommodation in Cunming Georgia, and reading some horrible reviews of the few extended stay hotels I found that were closest to my hospital ( Northside hospital - forsyth campus) I also couldn't get an apartment for lease cos the minimum lease term was 6months with strict cancelation rules and I only needed three months!!!

I have now found one in Alpharetta Georgia via www.airbnb.com at $697 per month cheesy very fantastic in my opinion, anyone who doesn't have close family can try the site as well as other extended stay hotels that have fair reviews - not the type that has drug dealers etc

just thot to share

xxwxx

How far is this place from the hospital?

Your choices are between breaking the law and offending your sis, I don't envy you.

Its a case of damned if you do, damned if you do not. You don't really need our opinion, you've made up your mind to do this, you just need reinforcements to clear any lingering doubts you may have.

No one here is likely to "support" you, you make your choice and stick with it. Good luck.
