I've not used Mytradebook but from observations on comments here

Meritrade(I use this)
pros: Good customer service, Accounts gets credited as soon as you contact them and they have a mobile app, good reputation in the stock exchange too, easy to open and complete opening form online.

cons: The online data update is not instant and you dont get to see trade as they happen. You can balance this up with the nse website but it's not too good especially when your major strategy is JIJO(Jump In, Jump out)

Morgan:
pros: Low brokerage fee(0.25%) as compared to meritrade(1.35%), real online data and you get to see trades as they happen, good for JIJO

cons:not too good customer care(tho you may not need their 'care' much), you have to fill the opening form sent by mail and scan to send.

I'm not too sure of other cons of morgan because I have not used it but you can open an account with both and manage your account combining the pro's of both platforms.

Cheers

saibuhari:

You sold to fast and may have made a bad decision. But who compelled you to buy it in the first place it since you know its illiquid. I have been buying Vitafoam for the past 4 years and there has never been a time I had problem selling. Before the last year end result, I bought over 860,000 units and sold them at N6.30 shortly before mark down on a day it lost about 2.5%. I gained over 60%. Now I have reinvested the proceed I added to buy over a million units. I will equally sell in same manner. I know for sure when to sell and that is on or before the consummation of the Scheme of Merger, I will never sell in a hurry and am certain to make at least 100%. At worse case scenario, I will do better than 60% did when they gave twin reward at year end. For your information, from next week Vitafoam will do proper rally. The rally you saw today and the one you will see tomorrow is baby rally. Nigeria Stock Market has no formula - the best analyst do not make the most money on the NSE. It may be a different ball game in other climes. But Nigeria is different. Most people here call it illiquid stock and bad mouth it yet go behind to scramble to buy it. Who is deceiving who? Honestly, this will be last stock pick I will give on this forum based on certain nasty comments of people. Gratitude is the least of virtues, ingratitude the worst of vices.

@saibuhari, let me appeal to you as we all benefit from your stock picks..same with myjoy and many others who give out stock picks..Regard it as a selfless service you render to aid your fellow compatriots to make money. One thing I have learnt in life is that no matter how hard you try there must always be someone who always antagonizes your efforts but that doesn't mean you should stop. Please don't stop as we really need more of the picks from you and others...Without stock picks, there will be no NSEMPA.

Please reconsider your stance as from your previous comment, you have always been one of us.

@General, let's learn to respect people's opinions and motives, if it doesn't align with yours, just make your point and move on. No need to be garrulous and querulous with it.

Enjoy.

That is why nsempa is highly entertaining and addictive. We are relaxed here and in good, cheerful spirits most times, communicating our messages moving from Qeen's English, to Nigerian English alias pidgin, and back to Wole Soyinka's Grammar as the spirit leads us.

I salute the courage of @Saibuhari, @MyJoy08 et al. I encourage them to keep it coming. But I don't think there's anything wrong in others criticizing picks (or raising red flags) if it is done in a civil way and not an attack on the moniker (eg disparaging comments aimed at the moniker). In fact, what I find surprising is bnsitl who can't tolerate objections to their picks.
In my opinion, it is quite dangerous to place a mandate, without DD on a pick in NSEMPA. I'll bet some did on Vitafoam. If a member, after DD, raises a red flag. The act should not be taken in bad faith.
@Zendi's reaction to @"Agba..something something" cheesy is a good example. Meanwhile, I had to do some study on the later's observation. Don't also rule out the fact that some picks might actually be MH truly.

Of course there must be criticism, it is allowed. Even saibuhari stated yesterday that he was open to questions(cristism) and I stated it also that if you want to say something, say it and be open-minded/ straight forward about it. But there is a big difference between criticism and misanthropy ( which I observed). When someone starts vexing at a supposed stock pick and calling others gullible followers without any substantial fact to backup the indirect insult, then there is an issue.

That's life for you..There is a rule that you must always respect your Oga. That rule applies in the NSEBANKING sector. They follow themselves according in rank from my observation.
