How is d mkt looking this morning, can someone please brief the house.
Market is generally stable: few stocks gaining and others losing.
However, a quick research (DD) is now required on BECOPETRO as there seems to be heavy transactions with 25 million shares traded already!
52 week high & low stands at N0.50 at the moment. Any one with any sort of info in the house?

Sir, the market is going patiently and moving in the right directions as anticipates. Though, we are expecting the president to name his cabinets on or before Friday, June 12, 2015 if God willingly. This is my prayer for us all "Our sun shall no longer go down, nor shall our moon withdraw itself; For the Lord will be our everlasting light (in whatever road we wish to travel in life), and the days of our mourning shall be ended". Wishing us all the best of trading days ahead. Stay bless and be focus. It is well grin

This is why I keep watching SEPLAT: I mentioned some time ago I will post a comparison I did between the top priced stocks on NSE. I used easykobo. com comparison tool and I have attached the snapshot. Although easykobo values are not 100% accurate, they can give us a good idea of the stocks as they stand based on fundamentals.

A quick look at the EPS values of these stocks (According to bloomberg):
SEPLAT: N79
Nestle: N24
Dangcem: N10.71
7UP: N10
Guinness: N5
FO: 1.43

2014 Dividend yield (According to bloomberg):
SEPLAT: 5.19%
Dangcem: 3.39%
Nestle: 3.17%
Guinness: 1.98%
7UP: 1.39%
FO: 1.3%

The best part is this: Seplat has a Price / Book Ratio of 0.9. The next to it is FO at 4.12. Most others are around 5 while Nestle is at 16.97! This means that out of the top most expensive stocks on NSE, Seplat is the only one trading at a discount to its book value.

Based on my analysis, I retain my buy recommendation for long term investors who have deep pockets and don't mind small losses in the short term due to the current state of the global oil market. I am still optimistic the oil price will recover or at least become more stable in the coming months.

Thanks but any idea about the non-technical and political risks around Seplat? Where does it stand in relation to potential probe of the oil sector and its acquisition of divested oil blocks? I am asking as per due diligence because I am interested in your tip off oh!

Hehehe bros before u hurry and purchase 'panmo'!

If you must base your investment on fundamentals, your numbers must be doubly crossed checked. Most of the numbers you itemised here for Seplat are outright wrong! Unless of course, if you were sent by Myjoy to MH (na joke o).

I will only dwell on the most important numbers; ROE for seplat is 9% (TTM)! In fact, 2015 ROE is tending towards 5%! Please carry your pen and calculate from financial reports and not from all these sites whose figures may be wrong a lot of times. Seplat? ROE 41%? Na thief dem wan thief am?

Second most important is that ROE is on a downward trend, 2013 earning decreased from 85B to 40B, and if we project from Q1 2015, we should be expecting around 28B at year end if ROE does not deteriorate further. All these are inspite of an increase in net asset from 204B (2013) to 444B (2014) ie double net asset.

To further explain that the management cannot be trusted, within this same period general and admin expenses doubled between 2013 and 2014.

Meanwhile P/E (TTM) is 4.3 and not 2 as stated; and appears to be moving beyond 8 by year end. Of course it appears cheaper relative to the others you mentioned FOR A PURPOSE. Beware of value trap

Now do u still want to buy Seplat?
