Shyee:
good day pals. well I thank God for my Ielts result, and even as I do so, there is a need for me to share my thoughts with you guys.
I really prepared for the exam and after the exam I was confident of at least a band score of 8, really I was hoping 9 because I trashed it all or so I thought.
result came in this morning and I was amazed to see L 7.5 R 7 W 7 S 7.5.
I was like could this be my result until a friend lamented the same thru whatsapp.
please learn, just prepare and put in all your best in the exam. though I had 7.5 band score overall, I didn't think I wouldn't hit a 9 band in any part of the test. please prepare and aim for the sky, perhaps you would reach the mountain if you couldn't reach the sky
all the best pals.
thank God.
congrat and thank for yesterday

I think there's an option to have your exam re-assessed, you may choose to do it if you think it can help you score higher. You tried for listening sha, but you would have gotten the highest mark obtainable under Language if you had L 8.5, R 8, Speaking and Writing 7.5

Sincerely, shyee this result is a good one, even though you did not meet your desired score, this is evident with you 7 in writing. However, you could have done better and can do better in listening, and reading especially if you really studied well and study harder. The ielts has become very hard to score high, one needs high technique to deliver what the master wants to score high.
I will advise you write one more time and not opt for the remark cos chance are really slim if at all they remark.

How would you have felt if you had my result L8 W6.5 R8.5 S7.5.

garyskaparov!!! so na you be this i don catch you. i see you.
you are highly mouthed sir, your royal mouthesty.
sorry gary, i thought u were another person. i heard it somewhere that having at least a 7 in each of the test part is better than a less 7. i would in that light prefer my result.
please let our scores be criticized by others so that those who want to write Ielts may know what they are in for.

@shyee., for the benefit of others and myself, pls what material/website did you use in preparing for your WRITING specifically, and what do you think is the success factor for ielts writing. It seems to be the new bane to our canada pursuit.

i used Ielts buddy and road to Ielts.

forget formality, writing part is basically on your accumulated writing ability over the years. i cannot categorically tell you any material, but reading Ielts writing tips around
quite helped.

Express Entry steps. saw this on a forum, hope it's helpful, please i need 5 likes at least. all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp But...(Please note that this info does not apply tothe Federal Skilled Trades Program)
1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp
2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language. How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp
3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment.Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp
4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.
5) When you have those in hand you createyour express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the JobBank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng
You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp
You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp
Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp
For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.
6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:
a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp
b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp
c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp
d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp
e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count. for trades category, to calculate the work hours> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/trades/apply-who.asp
f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.
This question gets asked quite often. i don't just wanna waste page space. thanks.

To transmit changes made, keep on clicking the continue button on the 1st page till the end.

Save and exit will not transmit or submit your changes.
Avoid clicking the withdraw profile button as well.

Hello all,

I am the principal applicant and WES evaluation is awaiting document verification from institution. Is it mandatory for WES to evaluate dependent's(spouse) education with SSCE (since he can't use his B.Sc. due to inconsistent D.O.B?

Hi everyone, how is WES evaluation report delivered via their normal shipping?
Do they deliver to ones home address or one has to pick it up at the post office?.
It has been dispatched since May 12th but yet to receive it here in Naija.

It's not mandatory, but if you need more points, then its advisable your dependent does it.

Hello Solomonwis,Damkollins et al,

I trust you are all doing well. I submitted a bank certification letter (on my personal account) when I applied for the FSWP last year. I have since started a business and and would like to submit this business account when an updated POF is requested. I moved most of the funds to start this business and my personal account is not well funded but the business account is. I have all the business registration documents. Will this be a problem?

Kindly advise.
