My IELTS was fantastic, same as my wife's. I dont have relative there, maybe that's why my points are low. I have also not evaluated my wife's credentials. Will consider this. Im also looking at PNP. My IELTS results as follows:

L = 9.0
R = 8.0
S = 8.0
W = 6.5 Overall = 8.0 so I dont need to retake the IELTS

Unfortunately you do need to retake your IELTS to increase your score. This is because although your L, R & S are good, your writing isn't all that good. If you had scored a 7 in your writing you would have gotten about 60 extra points. To get an additional 50 points for skill transferability one should aim to get a minimum of L 8, R 7, S 7 & W 7. Having a relative in Canada would not fetch you any extra points. ECA for your spouse will fetch you an additional 10 points maximum. Therefore redoing your IELTS and assessing your spouse's credentials could fetch you about 70 extra points.

Thank you for your response. I have not done that I will do it later.

Please I need your candid advice here. I am a graduate of chemical Engineering . My highest qualification is msc in Chemical Engineering. I have completed a post graduate paid 6 months internship sometimes in the past within oil and gas sector as a Chemical/Process Engineer, now working outside oil and gas sector(Transport and Logistics) with almost two years working experience. I dont wish to apply with my current job title(logistic officer).I prefer to apply as a Chemical Engineer. My question is will I still be considered for the EE?

Again what is the minimum amount of money I should have in my bank account to be eligible for the EE?

Pls reply asap. Thanks

Well....it appears you have no choice than to use your present work experience to apply. You must have at least one year work experience to apply, which your 6months internship may not do except it amounts to 1560hours(which i still don't think is safe). Besides, you wont score as much marks as you would, using your present work experience. What matters most is you having work experience in an occupation that falls under NOC SKill type 0, OR Level A or B, not necessarily that your education must match your work experience. Applying as a Chemical Engineer gives you no prestige wink or advantage, and they are certainly not using it to determine you getting a job there, when you get there, you go look for Chemical Engineer job yourself.

He can apply but wont get the maximum marks because of his last grade - 6.5. That maximum mark may be very needed eventually and as such, he should consider re-writing.

Sorry but I'm not sure I agree with no 3. Even if you indicated your lower qualifications and assessed your highest you don't have to do ECA for the lower ones. This is because when filling the online application after receiving ITA, you'll be asked on each educational qualification you've indicated if you've obtained ECA. For example when you fill your SSCE qualification you'll be asked to select YES or NO for if you've obtained ECA for this, if you select NO then there would be no need to assess this. For my application I selected NO for SSCE, NO for BSC and YES for MSc since this was my highest qualification and hence an ECA was obtained for this.

Every other thing though is spot on smiley

You mind sharing what stage you are?

sorry for late response.
the fact that you have a degree in a field don't necessarily mean you must work in the same.
infact, when you create your EE profile, you will be asked to account for all your work experience(s).
being qualified for EE don't have to do with your degree or field or work experience alone, they are just scores boosters. you would be scored independently both for education and work experience. don't worry about that. worry about increasing your points-your crs scores.
please refer to my express entry steps on page 282.
money in account depends on your IMMEDIATE family size. not your parents or siblings.

good to know you found your noc.

I'm glad to help.

good luck with migration to Canada. guess that's why we are all here. wink

read like 10 previous pages or so. one of them should contain express entry steps by shyee.

Shyee:
Express Entry steps. saw this on a forum, hope it's helpful, please i need 5 likes at least. all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp But...(Please note that this info does not apply tothe Federal Skilled Trades Program)
1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp
2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp
3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment.Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp
4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.
5) When you have those in hand you createyour express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the JobBank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng
You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp
You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp
Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp
For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.
6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:
a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp
b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp
c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp
d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp
e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count. for trades category, to calculate the work hours> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/trades/apply-who.asp
f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.
This question gets asked quite often. i don't just wanna waste page space. thanks.

Hello house,

I require advice with an emerging situation from the house.

Is it possible to request for an extension of a Passport Request (PR) deadline if you are out of the country or going to be out shortly when it was requested from AVO?

Cheers.

Yes, many people have done it and AVO accepted. Just raise a CSE + send a mail to AVO and please show them proofs like your ticket for the trip etc and ask for extension.

Nice score tho.. How many years of work experience do you have? And also try and do your wife's evaluation to get hold of any point up for grabs.
