This thread reeks of ethnic bias, sentimental and emotional appeal to obfuscate facts and the reality on ground. If not that some unsuspecting members of the public might see this as a research document, I wont have bothered myself in commenting about this ridiculous, laughable, myopic and bigoted roll call of yorubas operating in Ghana, while the op or whoever selected the names mischievously sprinkled a few Igbo and S-S names to it and then branded it as list of Nigerian business tycoons in Ghana!! WTF!!! Any unbiased person could easily see that big corporations that are owned by Igbos like Zenith bank, UBA, ABC transport, The young etc were tactically omitted just to arrive at a predetermined conclusion tongue tongue The more I see such unwarranted, needless and baseless propaganda by our supposed brothers from the west, the more I conclude that the bitter rivalry and envy against Igbos by Yorubas is a truism. Researchers from different parts of the world, after extensive research and survey in different times concluded that Igbos of Nigeria along with the Germans, Chinese and the Jews possess inherent talents that enable them to succeed in all sphere of life. Even to any unbiased Nigerian, the Igbos have at-least since 1950 been at the zenith when it comes to entrepreneurship, education, science and technology in Nigeria. The more people envy the Igbos, the more Igbos excel and the more they get frustrated. If the Igbos could not stopped in 1966(with the northern pogrom), or the three year civil war were over two million Igbos were killed or even the emasculation of their wealth by government decrees like the Awo 20 pounds and the seizure of their properties in Rivers state then I don't think they could ever be stopped because it is inherent in them!!!

Interesting. It pays to not make noise and to respect one's host.

Yorubas have been in Ghana for decades if not centuries, we don't hear about bad blood.

The apku consumers have been in SA for a decade, they initiated a xenophobic attack with their useless pride and ever running tap water mouth.

God bless Ghana for allowing a climate where foreigners can succeed and thrive.

Firstly, I'm not yoruba . I'm a proud Nigerian. Second, the list didn't contain only the Yorubas. But they are in the clear majority. Also it is needless to say the list isn't an exhaustive account by any means. There was no mention of ABC transport company, or Glo or Dangote or even Oando to say the least.

Also the list didn't cover other section of the Ghanaian economy like SMES, real estate, dredging equipments etc. Where you eould like to see other NigerianNigerians of other regions wink i could furnish you with those but even this is awfully long enough.

The source is from a ghanaian too and there's no need for Nigerians to make the top 100 ghanaian wealthy list.

This thread is to show the highly managerial and visionary skills of Nigeria not an ethnic propaganda. This country has the best brains and people in all of Africa. As soon as our political leaders tap into this human resources, watch Nigeria attain her full glory.

Are you honestly saying that Nigerians in Ghana should be listed amongst the list of top 100 richest GGhanaians? So Dangote should be listed amongst the richest Ghanaians because Dangote group is in Ghana?

The source was published behind the original post. One of the aforementioned is one the highest employer of labour in Ghana.

The question is what is the nature of or source of wealth the 100 richest ghanaians?

Because the 100 richest Nigerians don't control Nigerian economy.

What the source says about Nigerian firms and multinational firms run by Nigerians in Ghana is a fact.

The question : Are the aforementioned Nigerians actually in those positions in Ghana?

Is it true that a giant British pharmaceutical like GlaxoSmithKline opens shop in Ghana and has a Nigerian as the CEO?

This list didn't even address the thousands of SMEs, import and exports, Servicing, wholesale, micro and macro trading.
Blieve me even MTN masts and servicing in Ghana is done by Nigerian companies.

Ecowas integration is what I see.

Honestly I don't know why you created this thread or the purpose of this thread. I believe you created it to instigate a Ghana vs Nigeria e-war as per your usual comments on this forum but instead it became an igbo vs Yoruba e-war. There are better ways to show the strength and power of Nigeria then this senseless bragging. I would rather be interested in what Nigerians are doing for Nigerians as a whole to benefit our Country and economy and not whether Dangote has his company in 16 african countries. Does that affect or benefit the average Nigerian?
There is no doubt that there are some Nigerians doing well all over the world and the fact that they operate in other countries does not mean that Nigerians or the whole Nigerian population now controls the economy because trust me that is not the case. Just because there are lots of Lebanese companies in Nigeria or foreign nationals in top position must they beat their chest and say they now control our economy.

This is a very silly thread and we both know it.

I have a question.
Of all the countries in Africa. Why is it always Nigerians that take bragging about their feat and dominance to another level.?
What will make one think he controls an economy. ? The economy of Ghana for that matter. The Second biggest economy in west Africa.?
Why is emphasis laid on Ghana when there are over 21 countries in the region
There are a lot of foreign institutions in Nigeria. Owned by Ghanaians. Kenyans. South Africans. Americans. Lebanese. Chinese . Indians etc. Do you hear them making noise?

Wherever have you been! That's not the way to welcome a lost love kiss

Trust me, I am for Ecowas. Inter trade and free movement will do well for the economies of the subregion.

2010 Nigerians medium to small scale traders had problems trading in Ghana. Why? The Ghanaian government imposed a 300 thousand dollars limit before a foreigner can trade. Also the said foreigners are to employ at least 10 Ghanaians.

Nigeria on her part has a long list of trade prohibitions on Ghana . This had mandated the Ghanaian President in April to say that Nigeria's list of trade embargoes is hurting the entire economy of the subregion.

This is a thread that calls for a celebration - not just in the Nigerian perspective but also for West africa. We are over 300 million people. Think what commerce boost this could give if we all are to engage in inter trade and commerce.

Ghana economy and population is next to Nigeria in the Sub region (although in a distant 2nd) but the beginning of strong economic ties and intercultural links is the beginning of the true spirit of ECOWAS as envisaged by the founding fathers wink wink

Ghana’s economy is just $50 billion, My guy. The 2nd position isn't a good reflection. Alot of trade with Nigeria with a $596 billion can go along way in putting your economy on the world maps.
