You nailed it! For those saying the man is heartless, you are not in his shoes. The experience was traumatic for both albeit at different levels. What he does need to do is recognize he has a problem, seek counseling/therapy to work through it. If he does that, there is a chance their marriage can be salvaged. What he shouldn't do is walk out on her because the trauma will likely affect subsequent relationships unless he deals with the problem.

lol . . . the truth is, just putting oneself in such a situation, and eliminating all fantastical outcomes, will make one realize the truth.

this one is even a strong man. most people will commit suicide.

This is a psychological issue. My advice is for the man to go for a heart-to-heart counseling. Add prayer to it and it will go a long way.

Unfortunately, the wife no doubt is going through pains, as for me I have a question to ask you @Op, "Please ask the wife, does her husband forgive and forget easily" if the ans is no @least for the few years they've spent in marriage, she'll be able to give a correct answer, then she may need to have more patience and do lots of prayers(not necessarily should involve money) in her private session. With time he'll forget the whole show. Its marriage, God instituted it, problems and issues in marriage can only be solved by God Himself and by living a Godly life. have you ever heard of post traumatic disorder?
it happens to people who go through traumatic situations. it causes them to relive the experience everytime. causing them pain and sorrow. many people have been known to commit suicide because of it. i doubt he can even sleep with any woman at all.

Finally a sensible Nigerian. The Man need seriously Counseling not a Pastor. A professional. I was Robbed at Rutgers university Parking lot with my X gf once. No one was raped, but our relationship didnt make the Experience. She felt I should have done more, I felt her flashyness attracted them.
