Amuneke: Golden Eaglets Ready For “Solid” Mexico

Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has stated that his players are not fazed about meeting Mexico in the semi-final of the U-17 World Cup.

In UAE 2013, the Eaglets defeated Mexico 6-1 in the group stage and 3-0 in the final to claim their fourth U-17 world title.

Both teams will square off in Thursday’s last four clash after Mexico beat Ecuador 2-0 in the quarter-final.

Amuneke told nff.com that the game will be a thrilling encounter following Mexico’s performance so far in the competition.

“We welcome the challenge of meeting Mexico again because we are more or less old foes.

“I think it is going to be an interesting game because the Mexicans have shown in this tournament that they are a very solid side but we will continue to work towards this important semi final game.”

AF Nigeria Nigeria U17
Mexico plot to stop Osimhen

Eagelts star striker Osimhen

Mexico U17 team coach Mario Arteaga has revealed they will stop the rampaging Nigeria attack led by Victor Osimhen when both teams clash on Thursday in the semi-finals of FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile.

Kick-off for this World Cup showdown in Concepcion will be Thursday midnight Nigerian time.

Osimhen has been the most lethal striker at Chile 2015 with eight of the 14 goals by the Golden Eaglets as they romped to their seventh U17 World Cup semis.

“Nigeria are a very good team and we will prepare ourselves better to face their excellent attack," said coach Arteaga after his team set up a mouth-watering rematch with the four-time world champions.

Mexico beat Germany and Chile on their way to the last-four.
The North Americans were worthy 2-0 winners over Ecuador on Monday night to advance to the semi-finals.

Arteaga said his team acquitted themselves very well against the South Americans.

"The match went as we expected, very tight between two teams with the same level. But my team have managed to stay very calm and very well composed this game with impeccable behaviour,” he praised.
“My players were good tactically, physically and mentally.”

There are things extremely important for success most people don't know, and thank God the officials of this set of Eaglets seems to know the secret either by chance or by design.
Check the hair styles of each of the members of this present Golden eaglets and compare it to other remaining teams of this championship hair styles then u'll will understand what I'm talking about, *****DISCIPLINE***** HUMILITY***** FAITH***** and u will be rest assured that this trophy belongs to the Golden eaglets as long as they remain focused which I believe they will.
It's almost impossible for them to lose this trophy, they have all it takes to win this championship at this level. What they have is invisible,
At this level of the players career where their careers just kicked-off,it's imperative that their humility, discipline, loyalty etc level is at the optimum.
When I saw the hair styles of the last set of U-20 Manu's boys,I knew in my heart that they have lost some of the ingredients of success. Talents alone seldomly takes u to the top.
Isaac and kelechi might, just might be excused but this their hair styles is just uncalled for 4 now. Someone should talk to them.
An U-20 national team footballer are not supposed to carry just any kind of hair styles that pleases him. I don't have problems with the hair styles of already established footballers. Just the U-17/U-20.
Unless something beyond the control of the Eaglets happens, they are already as good as the Champions.

I pray Mali doesn't get to the final. I fear they would win the
cup if they reach the final. Superstition though.
Mali current U-17 team is like the golden eaglets
of 2013.

Belgium like the Swedish of 2013 U-17 world
cup.--3rd place best losers.
Mali top their group with 7 points. Drew with
Belgium.
So did Golden eaglets of 2013. Top the group
with 7 points and had a draw with the Swedish at
the group stage. Won them at the semi-final.

If only Ecuador had qualify to the semi final, then
it would be, Ecuador=Mexico 2013 team.

Sir Joe... Thanks..... Well, I just love the game, its history, statistics, inspirational stories and more. Really exciting and educating too....*smiles*

Well, It's all about "Flexibility" for me but please note that I'm on a little holiday right now and will resume my next medical studies later this month.

But even while on holidays, I still have to keep up with my online/on campus research scholarship(s) studies with Hopkins..... Honestly, it's quite rigorous but we're winding down for the year, to resume full throttle by early next year....... *smiles*

Partly, I use NL sports and a few other activities to "break-off" a little from studies, research, writings and more. I just Love Soccer and Nigerian Football in particular.......... We've got so much potentials and have been able to make our marks with all our national teams (male and female.... Senior and age-grades) BUT we can still make "BIGGER MARKS"

*SMILES*

CONFESSION: I didn't want to respond coz I really had nothing to say......*smiles* I guess I'm still not good with praises and good compliments especially coming from BOSSES like urself and others here.

But seriously, It's really cool hooking up with "all" The gentlemen and Only Lady (Safarihoney......one and only Safarigirl *smiles*) here.......

Been a pleasure.... *smiles*

Let us do our best against the Mexicans who have a history of bringing out good junior sides.

Let us focus on Mexico and pray that the Eaglets and the Malians win their games.

Sir, pls don't even go there..... There's no way this malian team is like the Nigerian team of 2013. That Nigerian class of 2013 was monstrously "high scoring" with a fine blend of Tiki taka/total football.....*smiles*

Yea, the malians play "good football" but are still a low-scoring side.

Also, I want to meet the Malians in the final, if we beat the mexicans (I hope we do..... Or I believe we should).

WHY?? Because NIGERIA HAS "NEVER" LOST TO AN AFRICAN OPPOSITION AT A FIFA U-17 TOURNAMENT...... *smiles*

Yeah, on the day, History would take the backseat as "it's the team who wants it more that will triumph" BUT History always have a way of sneaking in to rear its "head".......... So either way.... Beat mexico to face the europeans or our west african brothers.... I wanna believe the boys don't care and are ready to break the "WIN-IN-ASIA-ONLY-SYNDROME"...........*smiles*

What if? What if? What if? ***smiles***

Sir, Soccer is not about "what ifs"....... It's about what happens on the pitch on game day..... It's about "which team wants victory bad enough"........

Besides, check out Nigeria's track record against AFRICAN OPPOSITION AT THE FIFA U-17 WC since 1985.......

**Hey, I may not remember all but this is all I could recall.....

-China 1985 Fifa u-17 (then u-16): Guinea 1-1 Nigeria (Nigeria won 4-2 on penalties)
Stage: Semi-finals

Note: Guinea had a koita and a traore. This mali team has a koita and a traore too..... Coincidence? *smiles*

-Japan 1993 Fifa u-17: Ghana 1-2 Nigeria
Stage: Final

-T&T 2001 Fifa u-17: Nigeria 1-0 Burkina faso
Stage: Semi-finals

Well, that's as far as I go........ So pls relax Sir......*smiles*

No need for "what ifs"............ Mail is a very fine side but Nigeria isn't bad either......*smiles*

All i can say is don't judge a book by its cover. Also as a coach when u have rules like that the players will get uptight, i can guarantee that Amunike does not have any rules to that regards, they are in Chile, how many barbers over there can even cut black hair? Plus they are probably too focused to worry about their hair. I believe it is just a coincidence that we don't see them rocking all those funky hair styles our little brothers have out here.

bros, so you can tell someone is disciplined and humble based on hair cuts? Wow! Bamgboye must be doing his haircut a disservice

Jokes apart, Bros, are you a barber by profession or do you have a hair fetish?

First,I know I will never get under ur hammer because I'm disciplined verbally,
To ur question, yes u can tell if a boy of 17ys is disciplined and humble or not by hair cuts, but not 100%. Just watch out for Bamgboye in 2yrs time u-20 team and u will see his hair style.
Coincidentally I know how to barb but not by profession,I only barb my own hair in a way no one could,I'm multi-talented,I can virtually do anything that I set my mind to,music, football, etc.
And I'm not a hair fetish,in fact I love hair styles, I have the finest hair style u can imagine.
But what I'm saying is there r some things that are fundamental to overall success which u must adhere to,whether u believed it to b true or not.
U as a student, there r some sacrifices u must do 4 u to come top on ur exams. Some of the sacrifices some may refuse to think is necessary or important,so they might not come top.
Having a hair style does not mean that u r arrogant, but a teenager who carries a crazy hair style and a teenager who carries a decent low cut,the chances of the later coming top even in football or any other walk of life is higher.
So do this, check the hair styles of all the present golden eaglets and c if any of them is carrying any how hair style, and then check other teams even the Malians, some of them are carrying crazy hair styles.
There r many other invisible things that are instrumental to the success of this team. Based on what I've observed,it will b almost impossible 4 them to lose this trophy God willing.

Possession: 44%

Did you guys notice anything?

Tip: 1: The U17 is played at the moment in Chile.
2: The Coach Of Man City, Pellegrini, is from Chile and he is definitely watching the tournament. He must have witnessed the Golden Eaglets Demolish Chile.

Pellegrini said after the game: “I’m very happy because it was almost the complete game in terms of technicality and tactics.

“We had good possession and could have scored even more goals.

“I was not happy with the way we were playing so I changed the system.

“All the players played well. People ask why Kevin De Bruyne didn’t play, but its important to change the team sometimes.”

Neymar, hahahahaaa, n now u hit a point aligned to mine,FOCUSED, no it was not a coincidence,it was deliberate,in 2yrs time u'll c them.
It does not necessary have to be made as a rule,it would be passed as an instruction then it would b left for the players to either obey or disobey.

Based on what I've observed,it will b almost impossible 4 them to lose this trophy God willing.

bros, this your hair argument can never fly anywhere.

so all the U17 and U20 teams that have Ben winning this competition have good haircuts? Does that even sound sensible to you. One can't even argue with you because it would be senseless.

He's a moralist, who equates outward appearances with what goes on in the heart. I'm sure he'd have been incensed when he first saw Tattoos on Messi's hands. If Messi's performance drops, it wont be difficult for him to link it with the 'demonic' ink on his body. That's the way moralists are.

it's a shallow way to think. Forget moralism, such thoughts are elementary and no right thinking person would ever take him seriously
