I hope the spambot doesn't ban me for this.

Check this out:

Agbaja

Agbaja is the locality of a large iron ore deposit in central Nigeria.

People
Agbaja is inhabited by the Oworo people who speak a Yoruba dialect also called Oworo. They share very similar culture with the Bunu, Owe, Yagba and Ijumu of the western part of Kogi State collectively called Okun. Agbaja is the traditional and political capital of the Oworo people.

Yes, they are Yoruba, full blooded.

I just laughed at you Shymmex, I think Kwara Division in that map falls within Yoruba and Ebira areas depending on where you are focusing on. One thing good for the Yoruba and which will continue to attract other groups to them is the attitude of peaceful coexistence. I think the Ebira to the western side of Niger River will move with Yoruba and possibly Igala as well considering their ethnic affinity.

The areas of Lafiagi up to Mokwa are Tapa( supposed branch of Nupe- my maternal great grandmother is from Nupe) were in history Yoruba/Oyo that in a way to avoid war with Tsoede( A Nupe Monarch supposedly birthed by an Igala father?) accepted to be ruled as Nupe, so its a huge possibility that when you are thinking of any Yoruba country( if there will be one) it will most likely encompass virtually all the regions west of the Niger because apart from oil& gas what other interests will Urhobo, Itsekiri ,Edo have? what will be the position of the Bariba, Ebira, Tapa
and Igala; the Yoruba need the former groups as kinsmen from antiquity and the latter for landscape, agriculture and the military apart from the fact that they are closely related.
I beleive the Ebira in Kogi West are at home with Yoruba more than those living in Koton Karfi side, Nasarawa and FCT. It may interest you to know that there are some similaritie with Gbagyi people but I know that Yourba country map may not likely cross over the Niger.

Lol.

Obviously, as a student of history, I need to salute the higher minds that schooled me about a lot of things of this forum. And you're definitely one of them. Salute again. grin

Interesting and insightful post. The Bariba folks are quite interesting since they're in both Nigeria and Benin, and they've always been loyal to Oyo, even when they broke away from the empire. And they also co-exist peacefully with the Ketus in Benin.

Special incentives for Oyo investors

The Oyo State government has offered special incentives to investors seeking Afro-allied opportunities in Nigeria.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi said this in his presentation at a breakout session during the 21st Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja.

He said the state offered substantial discount to investors wishing to invest in agriculture, while such lands are acquired with relative ease.

The governor said: “The major advantage Oyo State has over other states today is its size. We are leveraging on our size and vast landmass to grow our economy. There are many industrial giants in Oyo State today who were attracted to the state by our business incentives.

“Oyo State is five times the size of some states. With such size and landmass, as well as the goodwill of the government, there is no business that will not thrive in Oyo State.

“We are also creating a logistic centre, which will have an industrial park, storage and other facilities. We are doing everything possible to ease logistics in and around the state.”

As part of its regional integration agenda, the governor said Oyo State was partnering Lagos State on reforms that would significantly enhance its internally revenue generation.

Cube enables anyone (whether individual or business entity) to accept card payments in person with their existing phone (even a basic phone), anywhere, anytime, real-time without the internet (and can also work with Internet, if preferred).

Cube has great potential to disrupt the current payments markets (especially in developing countries) because the mobile phone is very-popular/everywhere, however, a popular means of making payment (aside from cash), which is the card (debit/credit-cards) cannot be accepted by everyone, in person, just as cash can. With cube anyone and everyone can now accept card payments in person just like they can accept cash, and wthout relying on an internet connection (just like you wouldn’t need internet to accept or pay-with cash). In developing counties, there is poor to no internet coverage in a lot of places; since Cube doesn’t depend on internet to work, accepting card payments with Cube will not be affected. In addition Cube can work with ANY phone (even a basic/feature phone), so an individual/business/entity wouldn’t need to get a new phone to use Cube. Its Revolutionary!

I support this full-heartedly, as long as the lands are ONLY sold to indigenes and not migrants/foreigners.

Nigeria has 620,000 ounces of gold reserves at Ogun

Africa's largest populated country Nigeria also claimed to have a large proven gold reserves of 620,000 ounces in its Ogun State.

According to country's Mines Minister, Mohammed Musa Sada, mining company Ratel identified the reserves at Eperindo in the state.

Speaking at the International Conference on Mining here, he announced various incentives by the federal government, ranging from capital allowances up to 95 per cent of qualifying capital expenditure, waiver of customs and import duties for plant among others for potential investors.

He also asserted that the federal government had created an enabling environment to stimulate sustained growth through the full exploration and exploitation of the vast mineral resources available in the country.

He said the regulatory framework such as the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act of 2007 and Mining Regulations were in line with international best practices and had been put in place to ensure security of tenure, greater transparency in granting access, competitive fiscal terms and the encouragement of industry led by the private sector.
