Ah...when it comes to speculation, profit, or immediate profit is not everything o. When people made bastard money in ikejahotel, champion or even right now in unitybnk from which no dividend is expected, there were profit making and dividend paying coys like nem around. This biz is a forward looking affair. I wasnt so fascinated until Dangote came back on board. Or you think he's now JIJOing with dangflour?grin Well, he may have dumped it the first time. But I believe he came back, not to bury it but to wake it. Could be for reasons of pride, that his name is involved, or maybe out of sheer concern for the workers, who had been with him for long. The stock will go south, following this result, but when it bottoms you will see that many people have eye on it.

I bought based on this rough analysis:

Share outstanding is 5B

Tigerbrands transferred 3.285B (65.7%) to Aliko.

"Subject to regulatory approvals, DIL will provide TBCG with an immediate cash injection of N10 billion. In return, Tiger Brands will
divest its 65.7% shareholding in TBCG to DIL for a nominal consideration and write off its shareholder loans to TBCG. In addition,
Tiger Brands will assume and settle outstanding debt guaranteed on behalf of TBCG."

This roughly implies that Aliko paid ~N3.04/ share (10B/3.285B).

I bought at N1.16, which is about 62% discount to Aliko's price.

Precedents have shown that Aliko is a very shrewd business man, I am willing to hold with him ...

Not a buy or sell recommendation

Bros how much did aliko sell the shares to Tigerbrands? I assume they already made a kill by short-selling. So u may be buying at a premium to Aliko's purchase price

Aliko;s calculation is far beyond that analysis above.............Analysis above is when you are dealing with a straight forward businessman................

"On the effective date as set out in paragraph 7 below, Tiger Brands will
pay Dangote NGN9.50 per DFM Share
, implying an aggregate purchase price
of NGN30,093 million (equivalent to approximately ZAR1.5 billion)
(“Purchase Price”). Excluding the once-off impact of an amount of
NGN1,484 million relating to a provision for irrecoverable claims"

http://dangote.com/Investorrelations/dg-tb_Detailed%20terms-21-Sept.pdf

The bottom line is that he sees value at N3.04!

I also see value with him at 62% discount to his entry price.

I don't see how i am buying at a premium (to him) unless he is willing to sell at any price below N1.16. Will he?

if you understand reconstruction, you'll understand that it makes no diff, because everything is adjusted proportionately.

Even if you do a 1:100, Aliko will still end up owning 65.7% and I'll still retain my tashere %age

BTW, it would appear that Aliko might be controlling over 75.% of this company

Atimes companies are just a front for sharing BIG LOOT.
Remember some people collecting over N2b from ONSA while the FRONTING COMPANiES continue to make shareholders cry day, afternoon and commit suicide at night....

You're more at risk of reconstruction in that your oando that is about to suffer the father of equity dilution in the process of raising 80b for debt reduction. Dangflour has only 5b OS, and 5B it will remain because Dangote doesnt do rights issue or any of such schemes by which small investors are wiped out. He funds the expansions without creating new shares.

Why are you so fascinated to loss making companies?............There are several profit making cheap companies out there............Some billionaires are monkey hunters too.............. grin
Come to think of it, the mighty oando is a loss making company, and the chief of them. But 2 million units of it were sold today. How many units of of nem, cileasing, courteville, all profit making and cheap companies were sold? Likewise, even as they were dumping it, 2 million units of the tigerbrands were taken up by new buyers, and I was surprised it fell only 5%. I'm following it closely to re-enter at a lower roundaboutgrin. A loss making company can generate more market activity than a profit making one depending on the sentiment around the stock. But the golden key remains right entry and right exiting with good luck.

bros no stock with good fundamental can go below 0.50k even if that rule is applied.i can mention stock like courteville selling at 0.50k but pays dividend regularly and good balance sheets.when i am talking of 50 kobo stocks,i mean stocks with good prospects.just mention some of them you know and leave the due diligence work for me.i am also an expert in this field.

You sound naive in stock market biz

"no stock with good fundamental can go below 0.50k even if that rule is applied"

Re-read and listen to yourself. Do u really know the meaning of good fundamentals? What is a stock with good fundamentals doing at car park in the first place? And if the stock could get to 50kobo and park there permanently with so may offers, why do u think it cannot go below 50kobo if the new rule sets in? Don't be too certain in the stock market.
