{Though the question was directed at ladies, permit me to contribute}
In my final year in the University, I submitted a picture I took with my girlfriend to be included in my yearbook page. We were planning to get married after I graduate. She eventually dumped me for a much bigger boy, while I was trying to find my feet. Now I dread looking at my Yearbook and I plan destroying it before my kids grow up. I don't want them asking me questions I don't want to answer . . . lol!

I think its better not to show your bf or gf on social media.. No matter how you think you love yourselves, the possibility of a breakup is there.. So imagine how you will feel having to take down those pictures after people have been praising your relationship, all those bad belles too will something to say.

I can only take the risk of posting on social media if the lady is my wife as it not so easy to divorce like that of breaking up in a bf and gf relationship

I don't think it's a yardstick. neither do I think it will block potential "customers". we have girls (sorry women) in their 30s that are not on any social media let alone uploading guy's pix and yet are still very single
