One source told SaharaReporters that the two ministers realized the importance of identifying and reclaiming assets illicitly stashed away by corrupt Nigerians in the UAE, especially Dubai. However, they felt that Nigeria gave away too much in terms of its bilateral economic interests in order to achieve the president’s major goal.

Could you imagine this? So the president's major goal is not to develop the country.
No wonder the economy is collapsing since he took over, the naira is having a free fall with no fiscal measure taken to stop the free fall of our Naira. Things are getting so difficult like never before only comparable to when he was head of state in karki.
He is already our president, so let us all become prayer warriors for sake of our dear country

I'm not convinced on this such signing can't be a one day or even one trip affair. All the modalities would have been drafted and agreed upon right from Nigeria before leaving for Dubai.
I'll want to read more on this before drawing a conclusion

His arrogance won't permit that.......He's been coming for the top job for the past 12 years and was never adequately prepared.......

One zombie friend of mine has finally regretted voting Bubu as his business as literally died. .....

Hehehehehehe!!! I'd excuse an illiterate artisan or a jobless person if s/he voted Buhari, but an entrepreneur or a working class individual, hell no!

History is there for consumption. If one doesn't read about Buhari's past and how his draconian and tyranic policies killed hundreds of businesses in 83/84 (with over 77,000 job losses), then one really do deserve the hardship one'll face in one's business or one's job loss..

SR wasn't clear enough! They failed to giv us d specifics! They mentioned repatriation of criminals and d recovery of stolen funds but they didn't touch which or what area the agreement goes against our economic interest! We need to be clear on this!
I'm surprised that EdCure couldn't even rationalize the article that fails to state the specific reasons presented by the ministers. His post was probably to get "likes" this time around. grin

Can you tell us the specific reasons given by those ministers for being against the agreement?
Then, we can be able to weigh their reasons against the president's.
Failing to do that only confirms you as a perpetual wailer.

Hello oooo house, can we just drop off sentiments, tribalism or any trace of insensitivity for once and face the truth? A tree doesnt make a forest! Mr. President should listen to his cohorts if not failure is imminent. We voted for him knowing that he would carry us along through the representatives around him linked to us. He should flush off the military blood running in his veins and remember this is a democratic dispensation. We don't want him fail and thus shouldn't wish himself same. I can remember the importance of social media which either critizise wrongdoings or praise well-done jobs and inadvertently Mr. President adjusts accordingly. His views cannot be right always, hence should be subjected to criticisms and reviews. God bless our country, Nigeria.

You proponent of Buhari's change have not seen anything yet, by the time he finishes his mandate in 2019, y'all will be cursing the day you came into this world.

Corruption will be beaten by straightening institutions, not by disregarding them.

From this article, what specific reasons did you read that were given by Adeosun and Udoma for their position?
Buhari can never be more intelligent than Kemi Adeosun(minister of Finance) and Udoma Udoma in the area of trade and economic benefit to our country. They never condemn the aspect of getting back our stolen wealth but condemn the part that concerns the economy

Inasmuch as buhari isn't aa seasoned lawyer like Udoma and Adeosun, the two latter individuals haven't covered themselves in glory either.

Adeosun, four months into office hasn't given up to 3 press briefings on financial policies aimed @ revamping the nation's economy. Heck, she's been eerily silent all through; in words and in actions!

Udoma, sigh!.. I hear he's in charge of Budgets and Planning. Bearing in mind the gaffes and scandals we've been hearing about the nation's budget these past couple of weeks, its funny that no one has pointed fingers towards his direction.

Anyways... lemme just chill and watch how the whole scene plays itself out.

I can't fault your post sir.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't see anything wrong with signing the trade agreements if it will help bring back our stolen funds and fight terrorism in the name of Islam. The ministers advising him did not even give any reason to back up their claims that it would not be in our interests. I support bubu jor.
what makes u think they did not give him reasons to back up their claims? By the time people like you wakes up from ur deep slumber the country would have been economically stagnant.
