Hello Opsyafo,

Applicants for transit visas also must overcome 214(b) of the INA. If that was the reason for your refusal, you would still not qualify.

Hello,
Please have already scheduled an appointment, then I notice my date of birth is showing Nov 2nd instead of Feb 11th, how can I correct this.

Also trying to change my DS-160 and getting 'error occurred while trying to load a virtualforce page.

Any hope I can rectify both.

Thanks.

fideco:
Hello VO,

I have a very serious issue-
I started an application ds160 and i used the Application ID to schedule an appointment.
Now, I want to retrieve the application and continue the ds160 form and when i input the father's name and date of birth it says the information does not match.

Its been about 2weeks I scheduled the appointment and the appointment is on the 2nd march 2016.

I need urgent help with this Please!

It does not make sense that if you inputted the information that you can no longer recall the information. If you gave your documents to a visa agent - and it sounds like you probably did - there is a chance that they stole your receipt number and gave it to someone else. This is why we advise applicants to fill out their own information.

I have given my documents to no Agent! What really happened was that I delayed for some weeks before trying to complete the application but the appointment schedule was completed.

Please, what can I do now since my interview is on the 2nd march? I still have the receipt number of visa fee, can I send it so as to confirm that it has not been used by anyone but me?

Dear VO,

Kindly shed light on this issue for me.

Previous Employers: the form indicated we should give history of employment in the last 5 years if applicable.

Below is what i found out from Travel.state.gov site giving help on filling Previous Employer

Help: Previous Employer.
Please enter information regarding your previous two employers only. Applicants may choose to bring along a separate written list of all previous employers to the visa interview for reference..

Here is my question, i had worked in my present organisation for slightly over a decade now, though i had worked before them for a short period in 2 other places. now my previous 5 years is in my present employment...do i still list the previous employers, the most recent is no longer operational. i am confused on the appropriate thing to do here.

Dear vo,
I applied for a b1 visa last year but it was denied. I just got admission into the chemistry doctorate program at louisiana state university with assistantship/ full funding. Would the previous denial affect my chances of obtaining a f1 visa. Thank you for your time.

Dear VO,
My wife and I went for US visa interview last year B1/B2, we were asked of our marriage date and some other questions which we answered ok and the interviewer said OK without checking our documents.

But lastly, he asked me if i had for once entered for US VISA LOTTERY before which i answered YES. He asked when i answered DV 2012.

And the VO REJECTED OUR VISA without any explanation.

(NOTE:
I entered DV 2012, I was a Lucky winner, but later they said there is a COMPUTER GLITCH which VOIDED the DV 2012 result that time
and when the re-selection was done i wasnt among the lucky ones)

Please what can be the problem is it that I was wrong to enter DV 2012.

Kindly reply

Goodday at Abujaniv and lagosniv...

Please i have an important quick one oh, I am filling the Non-immigrant D160 form for my mum who plans to visit the USA in June for a Christian Conference before i remembered that my mum has been to the united states twice on visit visas and the last time in 2007 for same conference.

so i am thinking, am i filling the right form so? is she not suppose to be applying for a dropbox or something?

PLEASE NOTE: i had seen the dropbox requirements on website but confused about "The visa expired no more than TWO-YEARS prior to re-issuance;" because my mums last visa was issued in 2004 and expired 2006.
it was a Visatype/class R B1/B2 visa.

Help me clarify. Lastly, she is applying from Abuja.
Thanks

Hello MXoXo,

Putting just your current employer (that you've been with for over a decade) is sufficient, but you are welcome to put more information if you'd like.

Hello rhemmie91,

All your interactions with our government are remembered, whether it be at the border, through exchanges, or at the consular window. At each interview, we attempt to give your application a fresh set of eyes. However, if you lied or misrepresented yourself during your prior interview, this would certainly affect any future applications you might have. Our best advice is to be honest and clear about your purpose of travel.

Hello slightlyMad,

She's welcome to apply for a visa regardless of her marital status. She will need to be found independently qualified for a visa. We strongly recommend she be clear and transparent about her/your situation and intentions.

Hello opomulero,

There are many reasons why B1/B2 visa applicants are found ineligible. You were given a sheet of paper explaining the reason for your refusal at the time of interview. We are not going to speculate as to the causes of your specific refusal.

Hello esosa4real,

You misunderstand: the visa must have expired within the last 24 months from TODAY (or whichever day it arrives in front of a consular officer to adjudicate). If your mother's visa expired anytime before 25 February 2014, she will need to come in for an interview and is not dropbox eligible.

Hello Arnold4all,

She's welcome to apply for a B1/B2 visa. However, if she just recently applied to immigrate to the United States, it is unlikely she would overcome 214(b), which is the legal presumption that all visa applicants intend to immigrate.

Thank you.... But if i put "the decision was made by the Visa Officer" OR "i was refused under section 214(b)... hope this wont indict me?

and lastly, i could see that having people (friends or relatives) in the USA is also an added advantage as most people i have talked to about this issue confirms they have one or two people in the USA. IS THIS TRULY A CONSIDERATION BY THE VO?
